I don´t thing AGS (or adventure games for that matter) will die soon.
Adventures might not have a big place in the games world, but they are never going to die. And of course, AGS is not going to die either. As long as there is Internet, AGS will not die.
As an example, when Microsoft tried to kill old games creating Windows with no DOS, some people came out with DOSBox and ScummVM.
What I mean is, of course Call of Duty 5 is cool, but point n click games are special.

As Gilbert said: “I don't think AGS is going downhill at all.  If anything, more and more professional-looking games are being made with it.”

Just my two cents.

That or just their vision to follow the 3D evolution. Up until GF, all it required was one CD, one install, one epic amount of point and clicking. Then GF not only meant keyboard control, but also 2 CD's and too much time waiting for the game to RUN off the CD. That killed it for me, I lost faith in them at that point. Don't get me wrong, GF was amazing, but the game running directly pretty much from CD, let alone the copy I had - brand new - barely worked, just sucked.

My 2nd CD arrived broken. That sucked.

The only tea I drink is a local tea called Rooibos tea (Afrikaans: Red Bush tea). It's delicious and awesome. Also it's caffeine-free.
I've never tried Rooibos tisane, but I have had Yerba Mate, which is not from the Camellia sinensis plant either (all forms of tea are from the Camellia sinensis, otherwise they're called tisanes).  It comes from Paraguay and Argentina, has a strong almost coffee like flavor and loads of caffeine.  Che Guevera's family actually owned a small Yerba Mate plantation in Argentina when he was growing up.

I am from Uruguay, next to Argentina. We drink Mate all the time too.  :)

I think you have no bars in your window but the shadow shows them.
I am right?

You could use IsCollidingWithObject under the room_RepExec function.

I liked it, the controls where a little strange but got used to them.
The combine action took me a little while, I thought it was up with one item and down with another, but it up both times.

I love all the screenshots so far. Very atmospheric stuff! Can't wait to lay hands on this game!

I fully agree!

Looks really great! Can´t wait to play at least a demo!
Indy in those Arab clothes its a nice touch.  ;)
I tried to do an Indy game myself but with no luck because I am not an artist. I find that to be the most difficult part of a game.

I speak Spanish, so if you need help with the translation I am up for the task.
Good luck, and don´t let this project die, sadly a lot of great projects never see the light.

Yep, they are pretty strict this days.
I used to watch some series there, but now I can't cause they are blocking them for copyright violation.
#374
On this topic... H2G2 and the Indiana Jones games like FOY do violate rigths?
In the case of FOY the sprites are different, and the backgrounds too, but they are still using the brand "Indiana Jones".
#375
If you are running windows just try the "Windows Movie Maker".

EDITED: Never mind I just found what I needed.

You do realize that the crowbar example is just the tutorial for the game, right?

I do, but like he says, casual players didn't understand it by other way.
#378
What worries me is that I, and most of us, understood how to use old interface games.

But now you must:
Quote
hint at the crowbar/door task with dialog
pop up a dialog box explaining what to do
flash the crowbar
when the user clicks the crowbar, it pops up large on screen with particle and sound effects and flies into inventory slot
crowbar flashes in inventory
door flashes when crowbar is picked up
big reward for using crowbar on door

Are this games aimed to 5yo or is the TV making everyone a moron?  ???
People don't like to think anymore.

Hello!
I have registered some days ago and posted a few times, and lurked a lot more.  ;D
My real name is Matías, and I'm from Uruguay.
I'm currently studding Publicity and I'm an examen away from my degree in Journalism.
Started programing some years ago in Visual Basic, then C++, Pascal, and Assembler, never liked it much tough.
All this for my degree in, what would be translated, "Maintenance and Repairing of Computers", or something like that.
So I'm kind of a Technician-Journalist-Publicist sort of guy.  ???

Really like Adventure Games, and used AGS some years ago, but I can't remember in which forum I was... Now I'm getting used to it again and working on a project I hope will end well.

my aim is to allow my character to combine, an empty bottle, petrol, and an old cloth to make a petrol bomb.

Me want to play!  :o
