Nah, blurr doesn't mix too well with my cartoony style so that's not something I'm going to use, sorry.

No, I've already decided that this place will be run by just one guy so I'm not going to add another character because there a heck of lots of characters (CM is not a small or medium game but a BIG one) already in the game. Besides, a violin-guy can only play with a violin and I want actually the music to be like a symphony orchestra and therefore playing it through a soundsystem. Also, another reason for that there's not violin guy is because of something that happens in the game (won't tell it what it is because it would spoil the surprise and fun).

largopredator: Do the tableclothes really have some black outlines? They all look gray to me and I recall paint all the blacklines on those from black to gray. About the resolution, I don't want to change it because it fits for the characters I have been done (and I've done pretty much basic sprites of them). Since I mostly handdraw everything and scan it I find it look more interesting that you don't shrink it down to a sprite that would fit in a 320x200 BG. The backgrounds have the size to fit the characters, not the opposite.
About adding noise to the BG, how do you that in Photoshop 6.0? Is there any turtorial that might be useful?

I'm almost done with the lastest version of the background. I'll upload it when it's ready.

I'm not a big expert in luxuary restaurants but are the built-in sound-system vinsible or not? I'm just checking if I should replace the stereo with a sound-system.

QuoteAs for the Mona Lisa, I don't really see a problem with it being there just because the artist was italian.  I mean, if the owner were really going for the full french experience, he wouldn't have written the slightly comical "Le Kitchen" over the kitchen door.  It would be the proper French: "La Cuisine"

Yeah, I know it's not proper french but the owner/waiter/cook is a french guy indeed even if he speaks english with a strong french accents and also uses some french words and terms along with the english like Captain Rottingham from Monkey Island 3 or Raoul from Grim Fandango. The "Le Kitchen" is actually a bit of a joke because this game's not actually 100 % serious but a more of a comedy game like the Monkey Island games. So, should it be "Le Kitchen" or "La Cuisine"?

Dragon-rose: The stereo is there for playing classical musics on CDs. Yeah, I know Mona Lisa is Italian but wasn't Leonardo Da Vinci french? If he wasn't then how come the Mona Lisa painting is in Paris? I may have heard of that before but seem to forgot about it.

Thanks for the tips. The standy thing is a podium where the waiter stands to greet the guests. Well, about the perspective, I drew this a long while ago by hand and then edited it in Paint and Photoshop. The way the wall is just an artical design but I will change the perspective.

I'm not sure about the color suggestion of yours but wouldn't it be too much of the same color if I used maroon on the floor and having maroon drapes if I already have maroon on the chairs too? Maybe the maroon color on the floormat on the drapes should be a bit lighter or darker color than on the chairs to give more color to the scene?

Here is another background I'm working on for Caribbean Mysteries. I have some problems with this one. First of all I don't know what color I should use on the floormat. The blue color is just a substitute until I get a better color. First I was thinking about red but then I thought that red is a little bit overused. What do you think?

Also, since this is a luxurary restaurant I'm thinking of using a wall covering but I don't know what pattern I should use because it's quite boring with a blank wall.

My third problem is the picture frame. Since the owner/waiter/cook is french I was going to color Mona Lisa on it but it didn't work out and now I don't know what there should be instead.

Otherwise... let me hear your opinion. What else should be better here?

QuoteOther rules:
- Must feature a dragon, unicorn and pegasus soemwhere in the game: these can be pictures in the background, inventory items or whatever, but they must be visible somewhere

Say SSH, are the idea about the dragon and unicorn taken from your Princess Marian games?

I hate to disappoint you but you don't have any screenshots of the game or do you tell the story. For Pete's sake, read the rules first! Also, the don't name your game post as "My First Game with AGS" or something like that', only name with what you called your game, Ok?

Tanker, just one question. Have you played MI3 and 4 too? I ask this because if you make a fan game you got to know the story if you intend on make a story after the events of MI4 or you will get a lot of things wrong. But if you just are making a story between MI2 and 3 it doesn't matter very much.

I hope the information gave you some help.

I really like Full Throttle too. The bikefights at the Old Mine Road are my favorite. I alos like the hard rock songs plus the song you can listen to while around Todd's trailer (you know the one that, "My momma's face has dripped down into the dirt, but I'm still chasin' chitlens, whiskey and skirt").

The dog puzzle at the junkyard was a very though one and it took me hours to come up with the solution.

Mr. Colossal: Hey, not everyone disliked the Dig. I like the Dig but sure Full Throttle is more fun than the Dig.

Super Neo: I didn't think it was mean blowing up the bunnies. They were just toys, it would been mean IF they were real bunnies.

I have looked in the manual for AGS but I can't find a way to stop the characters from following the main-character. The manual says "Pass CHARTOFOLLOW as -1 to stop the character following." but I can't find that anywhere, nor can I find a code to make the characters stop follow.

Can anyone, please, help me?

I've recently been testing a walking animation of Green Tentacle from DOTT. When I test play with the character it looks like if Green Tentacle moves when he squirms when he tries to jump (for those who have played Day of the Tentacle the tentacles can't walk so they jump, the sucker sticks to the ground, they squirm in order to get loose and jump) when he actually should be still, just like in DOTT. Does anyone know how to make it look more like DOTT that Green T is still when he squirms and only moves when he makes the leap?

AGS-GD, if you don't get the game finished in time you always can expand the game size or at least make the puzzles slightly harder than you originally intend to. There's no need to be shamed. I too have missed the deadline once even if I gave up that game at the time. Just a thought though, do whatever you feel is right.

I've got a problem in the game:

Spoiler
I have helped the fish and the water rat escaped and opened the gate and I still got to help the koala. How do I get pass the dog? I've opened the hatch and got shovel, hairpin, vaacum-cleaner, key to the red door, steps, code note and scewdriver.

Yeah, I agree with the others about the graphics. It looks interesting.
Just a question about the house exterior. What kind of berries are on the tree and why is the the color of the berries both orange and cherry red? Is that delibrate or is it a mistake? Is the tree inspired from Day of the Tentacle's Kumquat/"Cherry" tree?
#377
Oooh, it's sooo close before it's completed. Fovmester, if you can, please, try to finish the game for next weekend. I want to play it so much!

How about Frank the Farmhand? It's not on the list right now.

Puss in Boots, you should be careful with what you say because A) I didn't buy the floppy disc version, I downloaded it, so no money were spent. B) If I didn't want to hear Richard Sanders, Denny Delk and the others, do you think that I would ASK this here? I don't think so! C) What IS P2P? Never say to people what you should get it if they don't know what it is and what is good for. I mean, what would that program help when I ask for the CD-Rom version of DOTT or at least the files from it (I don't need the CD when you use ScummVM). Also, I have bought Sam & Max about a year and a half ago and you can only buy DOTT/S&M Double pack in the stores, so don't you agree it's unnecessary to buy Sam & Max twice? And please, I don't want to buy it via eBay so don't suggest it.

I also had that problem with no sound in Sam & Max but I found this file that helped the problem: http://www.samandmax.net/files/windows_exe.zip . Note that you must have the S&M CD for it to work.

Of course downloading those games, burn them and so on are illegal but it isn't less illegal than making fan games (Night of the Hermit, Maniac Mansion Deluxe, Indiana Jones and the Fountain of Youth, Star Wars: The Shadows of the Empire, Garfield etc.). Of course, LEC doesn't loose any money on fan-games unlike burning the originals but still. Think about this.

HillBilly: Can't you just burn that CD and I PM the adress or at least send the necessary files to play them in ScummVM?

It's a very cool background. Here's my two cents: Maybe some garbage or spilled out litter would help the cause? Or maybe you could have some packages stand on the backside of the diner?

There's one thing that is bugging me. Since this is an alien world is it delibrate that the name of the diner is in Earthish European alphabet? If not then I suggest that you should write (draw?) Khad's in "Alienish".
