You could cycle the cursor in Sam and Max too.

If you ask me then it's the SCUMM GUI or the Verb coin, because the sierra GUI is used too often and it's quite stupid GUI. I mean, why do you need to go up to the screen to change action when you can click it with the mouse? It's very unnecessary indeed! Also, the term "Interact" is pretty stupid compaired with "Use" and you don't have to go through the GUI buttons for the iventory when you can do it directly in the SCUMM GUi and the Verb coin (click, click). And I think it's more exciting with the verbs than the few things in the Sierra games (Open, Push, Pull, you know what I mean). But actually, isn't the GUI for Sam & Max a copy of the Sierra system but changed it so you can both "pick up" and "use" and you only need to click through the stuff you do?

If you just want character sprites alone then? I reffer to the game Night of the Hermit in which have a sprite of Guybrush Threepwood, who isn't animated at all.

Now I wonder, if Pancho is a sheriff, where is the sheriff star? A sheriff is uncomplete without a sheriff-star, just want you to know that. If you add the star at his chest, then he will look more like a sheriff.

I'm stuck. I have put the blanket and the saddle on the horse but the master wizard won't ride away. Have I missed something.

Also, how do get the club and the cucumber sandwhich from that highwaywoman?

And what should I do first with the milk? I tried to use it with the couldron and the cow but it won't work.

Seems like a cool idea. Keep on it! By the way, does the super hero guy
have a funky haircut under that hood or is it somekind of mutation that shaped the head like that? I gotta know.

Netgraph: I bet it's not the robot (if it is a robot that is) that can shoot lasers with his eyes, I think Morgan reffered to one of those super-heroes. So read it carefully and think twice before you reply, ok? (Now I said it again!) However, I think that the X-men member Cyclops can fire lasers with his eyes (maybe just the eye, I don't know, I haven't read the comics) so maybe you were right. Ah anyway!

A jojo was also used in MI2, remember the piano playing monkey?

Actually I didn't mean a monkey named Jojo but a jojo as the toy.

QuoteLargo LeGrande

That's LaGrande, not LeGrande.

QuoteMurray's leg

Actually any part of Murray except arm and skull.

Have laserguns ever appear in a game before? It will come out in my next game Bill Starshine though.

Well, the grim reaper suit in Grim Fandango doesn't count since it's NOT an iventory item and when I meant by the suit, a skull-mask be included. The tofu mask doesn't count because it was to fool the vegetarian cannibals so it's more of a cannibal mask than a voodoo mask.

Eggie, are you suffering under amenisia or do never play Monkey Island? No offense really, But keys have been used in a lot of adventure games and shovels have appeared a couple of MI games. A grabbeling hook was what Guybrush used at the end of LeChuck's revenge so it doesn't count. And I asked about things that have NOT been used as an iventory in ANY adventure game, not even AGS games. So think about three times before you reply, ok?

It might sound weird and nuts but I have been thinking of this, which items haven't been used EVER in a adventure game... at least not yet. Here is my list of stuff nobody haven't been used in a adventure game that I know. Correct me if I'm wrong at a part.

A jojo
A skunk (note: the black cat you get in Day of the Tentacle doesn't count as a skunk)
A plastic goose with a rope on the top (Just kidding!)
A pen-eraser
A comic-book
A rubber-ducky
A voodoo-mask
Corndogs
Can of beer
A Grim reaper suit
A chicken suit
A DVD-movie
Some garlic
Some curry-powder

Well that's all I can think up of for now. You guys can tell me things that I missed.

And what about Grim Fandango? With the classy jazz music, background art and character attitudes it feels almost like old Hollywood movies and that is what I call atmosphere! Some of situations together mixed up with music gave away much atmosphere like when you're in catacombs in last year of the game, it really gave away a creepy feeling. And not to mention Hector LeMan's greenhouse or at the Sea of Lament, the combo of the music, background and situation really give into a feeling.  :)

I think the idea is a bit asurb but funny at the same time (which is good). But the thing about the main character thinks that almost every guy tries to guess the bra-size is a little bit of asurb and pretty unlogical. This maybe is just me but I have never heard the guys back in Basic school and Gymnasium school talk about those things (but then again I am swedish so it might have different attitude in other countries like UK, USA etc.) so I think the main-character maybe is worring way too much. And this guy might not be just a normal guy but maybe an oversexed guy or a prevo (again it might be just me so, please, don't get offended anyone).

Nice! Very nice indeed. I can hardly wait to play Kinky Island!  ;)

Well, if you need a female voice-actor ask Azure. Here is her website http://www.btinternet.com/~yukino/form.htm.

My company is named Humorous Games because I like humor (no, I LOVE humor) and in most of my games there will be some or a lot of jokes. A good advice to you if you're not sure of a company name, think of what the strongest passion will be in your games or the secret ingridient of how to make good games (or at least in hope of good games). Like my games the humor will be some of the strongest stuff in my games. Just think of something you really like and you can make a good company game.

Is it okay to make a game that have a story of a time before the movie's actual story but with the same lead character or characters and places? I'm working with my entry, Monsters Inc, which will take part about a month before the actual story of Monsters Inc movie but it's still Sulley, Mike, Randall, Waternoose and the other monsters, plus it's the same factory. I hope that will be ok?

I did install it in a new folder so now it worked. The mistake I did was open them directly and extracted over the old files. Now it works. Thanks CJ. And also Jimi even if didn't adviced me here but in a MSN chat.  ;)

I have tried to start a new game but the program crashes with this message: read_gui: file is corrupt.

How do you fix this?
#759
Hey, we all do mistakes. I wrote the title here too fast, so stop will you please stop complaining about those things?

aussie: I got to check it out.

AGS Games in Production / Re:Evil Snuffy
Mon 26/05/2003 08:44:55
Good that there have been changes since the last time. There's just one thing though:

Spoiler
When the guy have saved you from the strange guy who wanted a drink, you can't do anything, not even leave the background or say something to the guy who saved you or something like that. Why?
[close]

And also:

Spoiler
You said you would change the side veiw of Snuffy the last time but you haven't. And if you look at the old ladies talking the one on right's hair is strange (I told you that the last time when you wanted some critics of the game), how come you haven't change that?
[close]

It had some clever puzzles. Keep up the good work!
