I think that anyone with over, say, 240 posts should be given the title of "Supreme Grand Poobah" instead of just "member".

Of course, this just encourages people to post silly messages to reach the target.

That´s why I told that to win the title you must pass a trial.

I actually dont think that such a bad idea...prehaps if one is really dead set on cool little titles by their name, they can take an extra test, on prehaps difficult scripting questions, or what not, or something.  maybe a dumb idea...maybe not.

i guess it depends on what you want. those two have the best sotry. for a laugh, try larry vales, or PD.

huh? okay, I think I got that...

yeah, you do need to learn how to script, if even just a little bit. if you ever want an action to do more then one thing, you have to script

*ahem* I claim it, TGC, in games in production features me and some friends. But I also change some of teh stuff in real life to spice up teh game.

I mean, why not? everybody knows that a lot of people's creative inspriation comes from withen, and a lot of everyday stuff in life is also adventure game-ish. IO dont see what teh problem is.

well folks, I've been sick these past few days, so that means I haven't been at school. However, that means I've had alllll day to work on TGC. I've showed what I've had to far to a few buddies at granville, and then to LGM. i think most of my friends are still in shock that I'm making a game, and some of them might be in it, and so they didnt give me much help, other then spoting a bug or too. LGM helped me a lot more.

sooo, I would say I am about 4 rooms and 4 more GUI spirtes away from showing a demo to you all. How quick that may be depends on...

a) how finals (or studying for finals) turns out
b) how quickly I can do my makeup work for being sick
c) How quickly I am able to draw the last few rooms, as this is the only thing that is hard for me. if somebody wants to help after I draw up som sketches, that would be great, if not, thats cool, i'll plug on through. I'm not in a big hurry.

thanks for the interest guys!

ps. If anybody actually wants a  new-updated (you haven't seen it yet lgm) MINI-DEMO, PM me...I can work it out.

also, edit: I'm thinking that this first game will more then likely end up on the funny side, rather then being so serious, but not killing the story or chacaters for the sake of a gag. The next chapter I have planed for this series is much more sierous

UPDATE JUNE 8TH--- hey, good news! Instead of studying...I've been working on this! I've made a pretty cool puzzle (at least I think so anyways) for the demo, and found somebody to touch my up artwork. I think that a completete demo (5 rooms, complete puzzle, and sound) will be done in less then 10 days. I'm waiting for one room to come back, and I need to relearn a script command. I am very very excited!

I'm trying to learn how to use variables, and I got an error in my first script.

// room script file
int computer_cd;

function hotspot2_a() {
 // script for hotspot2: Interact hotspot
 if (computer_cd == 0) {
   DisplayMessage(7);
   AddInventory(2);
 }
 if (computer_cd == 1) {
   Display("you have taken all the CD's there are.");
 }
 if (computer_cd == 2) {
   Display("Yo. listen to what I'm saying foo. no CD.");
 }
 if (computer_cd == 3) {
   Display("Teh Computer has nothing left to give.");
 }
 if (computer_cd < 3) {
   computer_cd += 1;
 }
function object0_a() {
 // script for object0: Interact object
DisplayMessage(15);
ObjectOff(0);
GiveScore(10);
AddInventory(1);
}

have an error in line 22, saying nested functions not supported....

help?
