I'm pretty sure the AGS distribution platform was discontinued a while ago.  Not sure it was ever going to be used for commercial stuff but I might be wrong. I suppose Peder might be working on something with AGS Archives...

Aw, a bunch of us are joining now (I think) ;)

Edit: It's now turned into an adventure game development screenshare session!

Hooray for AdventureX! *Gets to work on demo*

I will be there too! Maybe I will have something to show this year

I believe it is a private ballot.  Not sure if it is a ballot box but it is certainly a confidential vote.  For the record, they made the right choice!

Looks like you had a lot of fun :)  Did you discuss the location of next years Mittens?

Happy Mittens everyone.  Shame my last minute secret plans to attend didn't work out.  Hope you all have a good time :)

My graphics card melted while trying to play this. 10/10

Hmm, I'd argue that it probably should be accepted in the spirit of the competition.  I suspect he probably could have made it in AGS if not for the resolution limitations.  Not up to me though I guess...

Wow, that animation... Just wonderful.  Now you've got me all excited again.

Here is my contribution to Release Something 2013.  I've been working on a black and white detective game on and off for just over a year now so I thought I would show off some screenshots.  Those that follow me on twitter may have already seen them ;)

I think the animations  are  pretty nice, I just have a couple of comments regarding the sprites (not related to what you have stated as stylistic choices). As Snarky said, you might have an issue with the height difference on the back view but I am sure you are aware of this. Also, I am not sure how I feel about the shoes on the side view. I wonder what they would look like one pixel shorter.  Finally, the ears on the sideview might be one pixel too far back.  It sort of suggests to me that the head is slightly angled towards the camera.  If you moved it one pixel forward you could add a bit of hair behind making it more consistent with the back view.

I might be interested in participating :D

Hello. I don't know if anyone else has experienced this but the latest Android build (AGS_2013-04-09_22-04-13) seems to crash out randomly. Currently running it on a Nexus 7 tablet and have yet to try it on my phone (Galaxy S2).  I rolled back to the previous version and it seems to be stable.  Just thought I'd let you know!

I switched from Photoshop to GraphicsGale a couple of years ago and really like using it. Sadly, you have to buy the full version (about £15) to be able to save gifs though.

The Tween module makes all this stuff very trivial.  Whenever I start a new game project, importing this module is the first thing I will do.  If you don't know how to import modules simply find the scripts tab in AGS, right click and select 'import script' and then select the file from wherever you've downloaded it to.

You could achieve what you want in one line of code.  For example,
Code: AGS
gInventory.TweenTransparency(2.5,0,eLinearTween,eNoBlockTween)[/b]

This is the cat you are looking for.

Great weekend all.  Thanks to Mark, Berian and Rebecca for doing a fantastic job and to all the exhibitors/speakers for putting on a great show.  Onwards and upwards!

I am open to some sightseeing after AdventureX despite living quite close by.  Would be good to catch up with some people ^_^
