There were 15 people there and I had to sleep on the wooden floor :P There were of course lots of people we wanted to ask to come, but it really wasn't feasible by then... if as many people go to Brittens as last year we'll need to have tents in the back garden, should be ok, in summer.

So I should feel sorry for you????

;D

AGA has plenty of time to build an extension before Brittens, so I don't think tents should be an issue...

Holy crap.

This is what I get for not playing CS.

...

It sucks anyways.

Hear Hear, I suddenly feel like such an unwanted leper  :'(

You're finally going international with us, Matt?!!! That's great news!!! :D

Word on the street is, your flight deals might be the best option. But my cousin will give me the full facts tomorrow :)

Well I turn 28 this year, so I should start to accept that there is a world outside Sunny Staines  ;D

It's been two days M0Ds, any news from your 'nudge nudge, wink wink' contact?

my cousin now owns a travel agent.

Slavery!!1  :o  :P

LOL, reminds me of a letter in the Metro last week.  I won't repeat it, cos I'd only get the punchline wrong  ::)

M0Ds, I'm down for the trip!

Okay, July 15th-22nd seems to be the best option.

So are we going for a week-long Brittens this year? I'll certainly come for a weekend, but I don't know if I've got enough holiday to come for the whole week.

Good point, I've already booked 8 days out of my 20 for Mittens, I'm not sure if I can afford another 5 for Brittens.  :-\

Thanks SSH,

Opodo lists the following possibilities:

£100.60 - Heathrow to Alicante, with 1 stop.
£122.60 - Stanstead to Alicante, with 1 stop.
£150.40 - Stanstead to Alicante, with no stops.

If people want to do the Heathrow option, I'm sure we can work out something with regards to crashing at my place.  I'll either be still living at home, or in my own flat by then.

Well, I've put in to the boss a holiday slip for the time off - 6 months notice should be enough.

EDIT - Just had a quick look on LastMinute.com and the cheapest flight to Alicante seem to be about £150 ex tax.  Does this sound about right? Is this the correct airport?

Personally, the cost isn't an issue, but I know for a lot of people it is.

16-23 August

I shall get them booked off tomorrow, perhaps with a couple of prep / recovery days either side.

I agree about the flights - I'm guessing we're going to be looking at standard - I knew there was a reason I lived so close to Heathrow  ::) ::) ::)

Layabout, you may notice that you and Spleen are both back-up BBQ operators - as I understand it, this is due to the high concentration of alcohol that seems to follow both of you around.

Burnt burgers is one thing, burnt Britteners is something else.  ;D

Can the Uk contingent keep me in the loop with regards to booking flights and what-have-you - I'd rather fly out with a bunch of drunken piss-heads I know.

I can switch on msn, googletalk, even try and get IRC up and working, but let me know when, what and where!

QuoteI don't mind giving folks food poisoning, but I'm certainly not falling out of any trees.

Quoteif someone will throw me into a tree, ill happily fall out of it.

Well I'm glad that's sorted!  Note how it takes two people to replace the presence of the multi-taskable mr.M0Ds...

It wouldn't be Brittens without everyone sheltering in the big tent from the pouring rain outside, though!

Don't forget the nominated BBQ operator half-in / half-out of the tent supplying the rest of us with food.  That person has a name and it is M0Ds!  ;D

July sounds good to me.

Are you sure you want to even consider hosting this at your house  :o :o

M0Ds would no doubt almost break his neck in some re-enactment of last year's tree stunt...

And Layabout would end up sleeping in your front door hugging a crate of beer.

;D

Porn: A Family Business  ;D

Seriously, I metioned this to M0Ds years ago at the first Mittens or Brittens, but I've never got around to doing anything about it.  It could consist of a series of mini-adventures like Monkey Island's trials where you play Cousin Stevie, and you have to:

Get the correct artwork to the printers
Organise Seymour's next video

I'm sure you get the picture  ;)

As M0Ds & Radiant have bumped the Volume 1 topic, now is probably a good time to bump the Volume 2 topic  ;)

A reminder that I am now collecting submissions for this years annual to be handed out at Mittens / Wittens 2006.

Please contact me via either email or pm.  Links to the official topics can always be found in my signature.

I will do my best to contact people regarding their games & contributions to the community, but I have been known to miss the obvious, so if you want to be safe, contact me yerself!

In the next couple of days / weeks / months there will be a topic in the competition thread regarding the design for the front cover, so keep you designer-eyes peeled.

Is there anyone else coming to Brittens that isn't on this list?

Me, probably.

Ah, but this is for last year's brittens  ;)

There's a new topic around here somewhere for this years / AGS Annual 2

Try this:

1. Pipette (sp?) a good blue from your background.
2. Go to SELECT > COLOUR RANGE
3. Drag the slider until the entire blue area is white in the preview window
4. Press OK
