Whoops, totally forgot to enter. Sorry for making you extend the deadline without posting something afterwards.  :-[

The good thing is that I have two major projects and when I temporarily lose interest in one (which often happens) then I switch to the other. Sometimes I get tired of both and then I either take a break from AGS or experiment around and try something new (like my current little project TESLA).

I usually come back to my projects with certain definite issues I want to accomplish and afterwards I'm happy about the progress I made. Then I eagerly anticipate the finished product which is a reason for not losing interest in a long run, but just temporarily. And these pauses help me getting new ideas and energy, so they aren't necessarily a waste of time (regarding the game).

It has to be: if (msgid==1)...

Note the two equal signs you need when checking a variable..

RickJ must have missed that in his code but it's a mistake I make way to often myself..

It's sad to hear that...

@ Jim Reed:

Haven't played so long that a player doesn't exist anymore. The thing is that the goal is not to destroy all other players. In fact, right now, there isn't a goal or ending at all, but later it will be a certain time period and/or amount of points.

But thanks for mentioning though, cause I can imagine that I would've forgotten the fact that a player can be kicked out of the game.

@ Arjon + Wonkyth:

Sorry for not mentioning the download button, it is indeed a bit confusing.

Who cares if a dictator or mass-murderer is an atheist as long as he doesn't kill people for their beliefs?

In fact, your edit is great, ProgZ.

The reason for thinking that he's an oversized basketball star is only caused by the relation to the original version which was very unproportioned.. (but much better than the older versions I may add).

On the upside, you consider the fact that religion is a not a part of your life and you feel great without it to be your point of view.

You seem to think that science is responsible for a nuclear bomb drop in the same way a religion is responsible for a crusade. It is, however, easy to see that this is not the case.

Sorry guys, can we please agree on one point:

- Science just as belief is INNATE!

The main difference is:

- religion is based on things that couldn't be explained in their time and age... while

- science is lookin around, trying to find out what the causes for all the occurrences are...

And I really can't believe what has been said about science in this thread. Science is when a caveman takes a stick and puts something sharp on its end to have a tool to take down a mammoth as well as programming a chip to create something like Skynet.

Science is people. People are science. Please don't try to seperate science from humans like it's some sort of extraordinary subject some crazy fools are learning. In every human there's a scientist.

AGS Games in Production / Re: T.E.S.L.A.

Okay, well.

On the one hand, the progress is going on smoothly and the game is almost fully playable, but on the other hand, I'm getting really tired of it. There's so much to redo, fiddle around and change and blah... so I take a break and will go on in afew weeks or so. I've playtested the game too much and some bugs gave me headaches....

So, the point is:

1. I guess I'll have it ready at the end of october or smomething like that.

2. Nevertheless I uploaded a 'sneak preview'-demo in case you're interested. I did make a short manual with everything neccessary in it (I hope) that you should check out before playing. Also note that you somehow spoil the fun when you're plaing it now, because there are rough unfinished graphics, the GUIs are yet to be redone and the fight is very lame and almost without animation. Also, the enemy AI lacks in severeal places.

So, check it out if you want but I suggest you don't play it for too long, cause otherwise you won't have much fun when it's finished..

Don't use objects, use GUIs for health and such things..

Edit: Beaten by Gilbet..

Ah, Nacho, I hoped this thread would end with exactly 666 posts, hehe! Don't wanna keep you from posting though.

Wizard: Yes, anyone can enter and a lot of people post more than one sprite..

You need to export/import the function if you're using it in some room. Importing it in the global scripts header is sufficient I think..
#1614
Why can't you use the function?

Make sure you write it like this:

cWhoever.FaceDirection(Left);
#1615
The object limit hasn't been increased yet. I'd like to see that too, believe me!

I'm rather new to the draw surface/image stuff too, but can you post your code so we can see what the problem might be?
#1616
I totally support all of ProgZs suggestions! Didn't dare to suggest them myself (a few of them circled around in my mind since quite some time and some have already been mentioned I think), cause somehow they'd naturally be something everyone would benefit from, so I thought CJ just has a higher priority list or that that these things are too hard to implement..

However, these would be some neat features.
#1617
I really like the changes you've made, and your research symbol looks even better than my light bulb  ;).

Well, everything's clear and easy to read, so I don't have anything to criticize or suggest.. well, maybe the "focus on room" symbol could be more obvious. A magnifying glass would be a better symbol.

If my current internet connection wouldn't be so crappy, I'd give it a try. I'm a huge Fallout fan.

Also, his neck is still too heavy. I'd take away one row of pixels on each side.

I support these two suggestions:

  • The ability to drag folders into other folders and rearrange them.

  • Place and drag hotspot WalkTo coords with mouseclick functionality.
