1. When you're in-game press the "print" button

2. Open an image editing program and paste the screenshot as a new image

3. Save the image

4. Upload the image somwhere, for example here

5. Use the [ img][ /img] tags to post the screenie in the forum

The rooms are getting better and better..

I'm glad you decided not to give up the game. Personally I had prefered the hi-res backgrounds, but as long as it looks good- which it does - than everything's fine. I'm curious how this will turn out.

1. character.AddInventory(item);

2. Either use the character.say command or start a dialog using Dialog.Start()

The problem is that, if that option is off, I have problems with other functions ("interact" and "use)...

Why is that? What's the problem.

As CJ states in this thread, the handle-inventory option "means that you want to override the built-in AGS handling of inventory clicks. When it's set to true, you have to manually process the click in the on_mouse_click function instead."

So if you use the normal cursors (interact/look etc.) the option should be turned off. But what is your problem then?

Make sure you use the lightning bolt icon in the panel to tell AGS what should happen when an item is being clicked..

Of course you can put it in the rep-ex, but it must not be called repeatedly. There's the if-statement with the timer and there should be no problem with it.

Didn't go through the whole code so I can't help you right now.

@Joe Carl:

When using 32-bit colors there's the possiblity to save the sprites with an alpha-channel which makes the transparency-problem obsolete. Plus it really looks good. Totally recommended for every hi-res game.

Create GUIs and use them in the character's starting room.

And please read the tutorial and all the relevant sections in the manual before posting questions.

..a much cooler sprite than last time. If I find some time I'll enter..

I agree to jakerpot, it looks like he doesn't have hands.

Try to work on that. Now it looks like the arms just end somewhere, tentacle-like..

AGS Games in Production / Re: The Wanderer

I really like the backgrounds as well as these black silhouettes, it gives the game a great atmosphere.

As for the scanlines: The possiblity to turn them on/off would be great cause though I don't really dislike them I guess when used on a continuing basis they would start to annoy me since they're not easy on the eye.

Good luck with further progress, I'm curious how this will turn out.

What program are you using? Sometimes you have to create an object to set an alpha-channel and sometimes you just have to select a transperancy color..

Also, make sure the image you're saving is set to 32-bit (and not only the game).
#2073
Yeah, the script is looking for a bracket after the "if"...

I want to make a dialog, that can't be stoped by one option, but automaticly stops, after you chose all (3) options. Any idea? I couldn't manage it.

Why not use a variable as a counter? Set it +1 for each option and when it reached 3, stop the dialog.

Giving the sound and music files a name is not only an imrovement, it's everything I'd ask for really..

I think I's prefer the sound-based audio commands to the channel ones... but it doesn't really matter to me. I guess I just would like to have the name of the sound at the beginning of the command..

ok, but matti, do you mean "horrible" the wall? or all of it?
Help me, say what you doesn`t like for me to change it!
Do you liked the story? Come on! Comment and critic!

That violet tone is terrible, especially when used in stripes, it almost hurts the eyes. I'll give you the advice to make both stripe-colors similar, perhaps just with a difference in contrast/brightness.

But read the forum rules: Threads in the GiP-section are basically for informations about the progress of the games and some feedback, but serious critics belong to the critics lounge. Otherwise evil Darth Vader Mandarb will tell us to stop talking about the graphics. So if you really want feedback on these things, start a thread in the critics lounge.

Regardings the story: Well, it's not very original or elaborated but as long as the game is funny and/or entertaining, everythings alright. It's all about fun.

EDIT: Your last screenie (a new one I think) is very good, much better than the others. I esp. like the plant. Try to keep that quality up.
#2077
Well, its says "read 95 times"  ;)

The screenies are okay, I just think the colors of that room with the striped walls are horrible. But such critique belongs to the critics lounge...

Regarding the screenshot quality:

Save them as .PNGs and upload them easily here

Good luck with further progress.

Ha, just when I posted this I was wondering what the difference between plugins and modules might be. I still don't know but I've only used modules yet..
#2079
Or in your game right-click "Scripts" in the panel, choose "import script" and then the plugin (.scm), wherever it may be. Then it will be part of your game.

It's summer down under matti. Never forget the Southern Hemisphere.

Well I was very tired yesterday and did forget that it could be warm down there but Portugal is NOT part of the southern hemisphere, that's for sure.

And I'm not eurocentric enough to forget the southern hemisphere.
