2: If the three "I" look different you'll need three different slots (if you're using Radiant's FontEdit). So what is the total amount of different symbols?

......mmmm....I think pretty need  90 slot!!!.

1: Say it's around 50, then in theory all you have to do is overwrite other characters you don't need (e.g. $ % & etc.). That's pretty inconvient for game design of course, every string inside the game/code will look like random characters. You could stick tiny pieces of paper on the keyboard and draw the farsi characters on them, then type in the game's strings blindly.

Thats right.but I think need more key.can you explain clearly what i do?

*farsi fonts is pretty similar to arabic.but have more than it.

I want make persian fonts(farsi) with font editor(Radiant).english Alphabet is 26 word.but persian is 32.
problem 1: how do i make and synchronize with keyboard?
problem 2:persian fonts is true type.and change any word after press space key.for ex: if me does type L,and press space now.its will be changed to new symbol.we have (for" I" word example):first I ,middle I ,end I. and it's will be a difficult make with keyboard.(keypad is not enough for that)
problem 3: Can I import a pre-existing font straight into the editor(without use GUI)if is possible please lead me.
I dont want use Gui for dialogues because i get a huge exe.and i can not  make translation for choose language between english and persian in winsetup.exe (AFAIK course)

@abstauber : please dont use mouse for any actions. does write all commands only for keyboard. aiming for shooting,and select Inventory,and everything only with KEYBOARD.mouse its full enough for adventure games.dont remember : you have work on platform games.so forgot mouse for this engine.
and always remember this games :Another World,Flashback,Prince of Persia,Heart of Alien(Another world 2).

in my opinion if you can use a sketch font (a special font for your game.that you can make with font editor)your game is will be full atmospheric.

Not problem.please work on the platform engine.and for next versions add grab ledge,climb and run or swiming even!.I think after release this version,CJ does change AGS name to APGS(Adventure Platform Game Studio)

btw.I'm ready for make animation 2d Player Sprites for all actions(walk,turn,run, jump,grab ledge,climb,... )

I'm afraid you wouldn't be too happy with it at the current stage as it's a scrolling and tile based. And currently even the animations are like in Super Mario - but the survey already tells me to rethink that

I know this is a advanced programming.and i sure this is a greatest module or template or sample or...that make with AGS untill now.you work is really great.please you do step by step work until receieve to Another World or Flashback style.I sure you can.

Iji looks really interesting, just like a fast paced Flashback. I can't watch the trailer on youtube anymore or I loose the motivation to write something on my own

Yes.of course.this is a very short flash animation from me.I was made in 1 hour  time.it was very simple for a learning physics multimedia CD book.(little worm into the animation to be continued into the menues and interfaces multimedia CD.i can upload all worm animations if you want).
I make huge animations with other softwares.in my opinion Flash is very poor for make animation.for instance it dont have a easy camera for control layers.and more...

On seconds thoughts - if you already know, how to use flash, you could also use it to make a platformer as well. That way you wouldn't have to downgrade your vectors to low-res pixels in AGS.

I'm already for make 2D animation.but not programming Actionscript 3 or 2.I just have learning this language to  my free times.I'm very busy .i said before up.
I choose AGS for make game because It is BITMAP scene.yes BITMAP scene.bitmap is lowres in compare with vector.but it make Atmospheric scene.vector is like plastic!!!! and is very artifical.
and also AGS is very nice for me.I remember The DIG-Beneath a steal Sky-Darkseed and....AGS can make my dreams.

first of all: if you have no idea how scripting works, starting with a platformer in AdventureGameStudio is not an easy task.
I'm pretty sure, you've already taken a look at Calin's marvelous opensource platformer.

Question 1: Simply save the the players y-position and apply it in the next room. The only problem is that you have to make sure that the player can actually jump there. So if there's a wall in the next room, you should block the jump in the current room too (like drawing the wall there as well)

Question 2: Look at Calin's work to see how gravity works. If scrolling is a problem, simply reduce the roomsize to 320x200

As for Question 3: You'd have to check if there's a solid region at the level of the player's head. If that region is found, you can start the "grab" and stop the player from falling. It's bit like Calin did the walljumps.

discussion for a platform game with AGS:
for a platform multi room(no scroller).how we can detect between frames.for instance when player do near to end of screen... and will be jump.and now player appear to next room with CONTINUE JUMP pass.
in 1213 games series, you can not  jump when player is near end of screen(left or right). can't  you believe? try 1213 games from Yahtzee:

maybe is a bug in this game(AFAIK)

but  instead,gravity structures is very nice.

Question 1: how we can detect player between frames?(read up).is it possible?(I dont want scrolling)
Question 2:how we can make gravity that player dead from high plat falling to floor ?
Question 3:grab ledge.and climb up!!!!

I had  this problem too for "The Marionette "game(640*480- true color(dont remember good)).I have laptop 1.60 pentium IV -256 ram-64 memory graphic card.

I have a strange problem.when i play some games,cpu works between 99%- 100%(show to task manager).and strart  CPU fan to run.and I close application for safety.(I have laptop).this happen for some games.not all.(some ags games(with direct draw even)-some flash games-or any other short games).I check for direct x version but this happen on flash games even.I use direct x 9.0c .because can not use higher for old graphic card.

Why?

my system is:
laptop
pentium IV 1.60 GHz
256 mb ram
64 mb ram graphic card
direct x 9.0c (can not use higher for old graphic card)
