about five or six years ago, I saw a few episodes of an anime series. I can't remember what it was called... all I can remember is that it was about a boy who erm... was forced to go on an adventure, I think? It was a comedy, a parody of RPGs and the like... when he fought enemies, their stats would appear on-screen...

...I remember liking it... it was funny...

Any ideas what this was called?

A few months ago I found out I had a half brother, a child of my father's that he never told us about.

I met him a few times, and he looks exactly like my dad and speaks exactly like my dad. Sadly, he also has the same personality as my dad... I found out that he beats his girlfriend up... he lies and spreads rumours about her to try and make other people believe that she's horrible... and he hasn't had a job for years... he has two children with two different women already and he's only 28..  And of course he doesn't pay child support for these children. Somehow, just like my dad, he seems to think it's okay to have children with whomever you want, whenever you want, and then not pay a penny towards their upkeep. nice.

When I found all this out, I immediately broke up contact with him. I want nothing to do with a wife-beater, half-brother or not...

The thing is, it amazes me that he can be basically EXACTLY like my dad... in so many ways, their personality, looks and life are mirror images of each other - and yet he's never actually MET my dad. It's really strange.

Makes me worry about having sons in the future...

So I was being all nice and romantic with my boyfriend, lying down together on our bed and just kissing and cuddling and joking around together, and then he gets up to put the kettle on and I go to follow but somehow can't because there's an IMMENSE pain in my shoulder. He spends about ten minutes laughing at the fact he's managed to break me simply by cuddling me, whilst I cry in agony.

My entire right shoulder is stiff and in intense agony, WTF did I do!??

This reminds me of once, when I did a cartwheel and just clipped my little toe off the door... it wasn't even bruised but somehow was SO INTENSELY PAINFUL that I literally couldn't put ANY weight on my left foot for about two days. And everybody laughed at me because I was completely incapacitated after touching my toe on something.

Goddamnit I'm in pain. I can't even turn my head left or right. And it doesn't help that everybody finds it hilarious that I got "cuddled until I broke".

Anybody else ever fall victim to ridiculous injuries that everybody laughs at you for but REALLY THEY ACTUALLY BLOODY HURT A LOT?

Okay so, I keep lots of blogs. I actually do. I keep a blog for my relationships, and a blog for my day-to-day life, and a blog for ranting about how much I hate people. They're all private though, because a lot of the time I just update them because they're just like keeping Diaries. And I like writing to release anger and all that. Wait, no, wait... that makes me sound psycho. Okay, start over.

I have lots of blogs but usually they're private! This one isn't. Because I thought that maybe some of you, and some people on the internet, may one day find it a little bit useful. My blog is going to track how I get on with my career in the Games Industry, as well as issues and pitfalls I have along the way (they are plentiful, plentiful...). Hopefully, some people will find this useful. Hey, maybe even interesting!

I don't have a decent design for it yet, but I'd still like some feedback anyway in the form of, well... how interested are people in it as a concept?  Do you think you'd find a blog of this sort useful or inspiring if you wanted to get into the games industry? My friend wants me to draw her a tattoo. She says she wants two moons kissing, that she remembers it from a childrens book illustration from when she was a child but doesn't know what the book was called.

Hmm...

Does anybody know what book she might be talking about? All she remembers is that she loved it as a child (about 20 years ago). She's from the South of Italy, so it could be an italian childrens book. And all I know is that there's a picture of two half-moons kissing in it... and she really wants it...

Hi all,

I've recently developed (within the past two or three weeks) a weird breathing... thing. You know when you feel a little bit breathless, so you sigh/take a deep breath, and then feel fine again? Well, I sometimes just constantly feel the need to take these deep, sighing breaths. And it doesn't ease the breathlessness, in fact it almost feels like it's making it worse.

I don't take small, sharp, quick breaths... just very deep ones. It's not like I start breathing faster...

Yesterday I was walking home and kept trying to take deep sighing breathes until I think I actually hurt my lung from trying, because I got a sharp pain in there and then my er... back hurt ¬¬ might have been unrelated, just got a sharp pain in my back, between my shoulders...

It's awfully annoying, I'd like to know what's causing it, I'm sitting here at work now fidgeting in my chair because I feel breathless... trying to get myself into a more comfy position... bah...

Any ideas what this could be? yes yes I know... go to a doctor... I am pretty terrified of doctors though so I'd just like to know what other people think it could be before I go...

Sometimes I'm fine... but sometimes I feel breathless...

...PS I'm 20 ¬¬ and relatively fit and active, not overweight at all, good diet (no sugar and crisps and chocolate and crap)...

Moderators, feel free to move this thread if it's in the wrong forum or something… I realize you're not supposed to start threads asking for help, but this is a very kind of specific thing so… er… yeah…

As some of you may know, I'm lucky enough to work in the games industry. Myself and a group of close friends (fellow games industry folk) have decided to try our hand at creating a small 3D demo or episode of a game, doing everything from scratch â€" design, art, music, coding etc.

One of my friends is a programmer for Konami and is going to have a shot at making a 3D engine. We also have a 3D artist who's been doing animation for the games industry for 9 years now who says he can help, and if all goes well, the sound guy in the office ten feet away from me can be convinced to help...

It's not going to be an entire game, it's going to be a demo or episode that will showcase the individual talents of each person who contributed, and if it all goes swimmingly then we may decide to make it into a full-length game. Another close friend of mine at Sega has a job which includes basically talent-scouting â€" he says if we make something vaguely decent, he can provide some amount of industry recognition for it etc etc blah blah I'm boring myself.

I don't want the team to be massive, but I don't think we should get started until we know we're not just wasting each others time. That's why I'd like if some talented 3D artists, concept artists, programmers or musicians could come forward to help.

This won't be for profit at all… in fact, the main reason we're all doing this is to put on our CVs, to talk about at job interviews, etc. I work in the games industry and you wouldn't believe the amount of things that get recognized that you'd think big games industry folk wouldn't notice… I've seen people at work playing Fountain of Youth and absolutely loving it. I've seen one of the head guys at a major MMO publisher playing it, even. If Mark or any of that team applied for a job in the games industry with FoY under their belt, man, that is such a great thing to have.

So, if anybody is interested then let me know. And I'm afraid that you'll have to be very talented… no 12 year olds who are kinda good at sprite animations who want to help. This is a serious project that a bunch of people want to end up being awesome and kickass so we can get game industry jobs and in ten years, maybe I'll be able to afford a mortgage in Brighton. Hah! How I make myself laugh.

I understand that truly talented people don't want to waste their time on the many failed or half-ass attempts at games out there. Truly talented people usually have jobs and lives and don't want to spend their free time making artwork/programming for lazy people who do nothing with their work. So if you want to just talk about the project and know a little more about it, that's great, I would love to tell you more about it. I don't want people on the team who are going to only contribute a little bit and then disappear, either. So let's talk and discuss and everything. It could be totally awesome

...for my 21st Birthday, I want a buffet goddamnit. They are my favourite type of meal.

I'm talking hot and cold foods, pastas, seafood, meats, cheeses, salads....  you know, a PROPER buffet, like I once had in France.

Thing is, I don't know where you erm... GET those from. Hotels or something, surely? I live in Brighton, so it would be best if I could find some place that does an awesome buffet either here or in say, London or somewhere close.

My Mum has been offered a PhD that basically will allow her to go to China for two months every year, and she's going to take my sisters/brother with her. I'm a bit jealous, 'cause I have a job here in Brighton and all that...

I'm really excited for her. And my little sisters! They're between the ages of 6 and 15... so young and they'll be able to speak a bit of Chinese !

Any AGS'ers out in China? What can my lil sisters expect when they're out there? They've never actually been outside of Ireland before... so this is such an adventure for them! How quickly do you think they'll be able to talk to other kids out there and stuff?

Were you guys aware of this? Apparently child molesters can reach kids and molest them in the safety of their own home if they use nintendos ds talk feature. why aren't playstation doing something to stop child molesters from pentrating these chidlrens safety?
