Oooooo I like the graphics. Did somebody already mention Tintin? Because they remind me of Tintin.

This is possibly the worst attitude to game making ever.

Last game too hard, so you gave up. Found an old text adventure.

You have provided no information on the game but for three screenshots (Did you make them yourself or take them from the old game?). No story, no music, no character sprite.

How long before you cancel this one too?

Okay this is sorta weird and you prolly should ignore me, but the design reminds me of those pages you get... you know, you click a link and it brings you to this website full of advertising, like "Gambling, Romance, Email, Fun, Games." That sort of thing, with shitloads of links.

The design is good, but like I said, it reminds me so much of those sites I nearly went to close it thinking it was a popup.

That's just me though.

It's a great site.

Hang on. Woah. Stop. Rewind.

The IRA problem was solved through a negotiation process. The Spanish goverment is completelly against to negotiate with ETA.

Did I oversleep or something? The IRA problem got solved?!

The IRA problem did not get solved. The IRA were 'replaced' with 'The Real IRA', or in other words the members renamed themselves when a couple of their leaders agreed to dissolve the group. The IRA are still active, still angry, still pining for their cause. They're not 'solved' at all.

I left off posting on these threads for so long on purpose because I knew that if I did, I'd sound pretty incoherent.

Since it happened I've done my research. I don't think it was the Basques. It is sad that the Spanish Government is blaming the Basques for political reasons, instead of being honest and protecting its people.

These people never did anything to deserve this. Those trains were such soft, soft targets. The terrorists are cowards and murderers.

What scares me even more is this 'Black Wind of Death' that they claim is 90% complete. Sure, it could be a lie. It might not be. It's certainly possible. What about Sellafield? What about all of the Nuclear Power Stations in France? Europe is an easy target. Especially for a suicide bomber. Seeing as most crimes fail in the getaway.

EDIT: It did happen 911 days after 9/11. Also, 911 is the emergency number in the US. Could be a whole bunch of coincedences. Knowing the Al-kieda (sp) and their deep love of symbolism, it probably isn't.

If you look closely you'll see it is not a game, but merely an amazingly shaped piece of crap.

Today was the TOTAL FINALS of the Mini Company Competition and... well, I got prize for Most Innovative Company. Hurray for Beyond Reality! We totally screwed those candle making companies over!

There was this really in-depth and interesting and revealing interview with me, conducted by the awesome Rachel Chall. There are a lot of questions answered, like "Why do you talk so much" for instance, but I'll let you see it for yourself.

Problem is, the AVI file is 43 megabytes. Somebody link me to something that can make it like, maybe, 3MB, and then somebody provide me with hosting because I'm tired after hauling my entire computer for maybe two miles today.

Okay here's a transcript of the interview anyway. You'll need it if I ever get it uploaded because it's bad quality sound.

Interview Now Available in AVI format!

Then it's about time we ordered people to go into the Ant Colonies of America, and if they won't accept it peacefully, we'll force democracy on them. If they refuse to swallow our delicious gloop, we'll use whips and flails on them, but really gently so they don't just get squashed.

Perhaps it did not work for you because you are not American. Hmmm.

General Discussion / Monks and Ants

I was learning about Irish Monks there, yesterday. Amazing stuff.

These guys only washed four times a year and changed clothes twice. This was back in the 1200's I think. Anyway, the reason they washed was because they had to be bled four times a year. They would be washed and drained of blood until they were completely white, and then taken to the infirmary to recover. This was to stop them becoming too aggressive and such toward each other. The blood was put into a huge pit and used to build other monastaries... (satanic, or WHAT?)

They stayed within a tiny yard all their life and lived mostly vegetarian diets. They took a vow of silence and for the most part spent their life in confinement and silence. They were only allowed to warm up for five minutes at a time in the one warm room of the monastary, at other times it was freezing. They were terrified of not confessing to their sins so every day they did, and were punished for them.

Which brings me to this:

Perhaps Ants are terribly, terribly religious. Has anybody ever tried breeding a single Ant on it's own and seeing how it behaves? Perhaps it could be raised in America and lead the first Insect Revolution over there? You could even let it watch Antz and A Bugs Life, two EXTREMELY liberal Ant Based Movies. With man and god quite clearly on its side, it could go on to lead all freedom-loving ants across the globe into a new era of love and liberty and democracy.

For this, we will need a single ant egg. I recommend Canary Food.

I posted it prematurely.

Should I wash my hair daily? While it does remain smelling sweetly of coconut and vanilla, perhaps it dries my hair also?

Liam Neeson is from Northern Ireland. I didn't mention him because he it is debatable (?) that he is English.

Just in case anybody thought I didn't recognise the awesome Liam Neeson.

In a strict way, Ireland IS part of Britain.

"Britain" classically refers to all the islands on that side of the channel.

As for being of British nationality, the Irish, being celts, are infinitely more British than the English.

The issue got confused because of the practice of calling The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland [later just Northern Ireland] "Britain" by itself. After all, in the 19th and 20th century it was all of Britain, even though in it's title it only refered to Great Britain, which is to say the largest island, with England/Scotland/Wales. It's roughly similar to the whole USA/America/Estados Unidense debate which you wouldn't have read.

So the term "Britain" gets confused with the government of westminster, and the title become shunned by Irish republicans.

In all truth, were you truly a patriotic lass of Eire, you would decry the fashion in which lowly anglo saxon dogs have taken the title of the land of the celts.

I'm not patriotic.

Just like the meaning of the word 'gay', things change. I'm sure very few people would, without a lot of prior consideration, call someone gay in exchange for the word 'happy'.  Similarly, very few people would call the Irish 'British' with the intent of meaning it in classic terms. Quite frankly, anybody who's mind is stuck in classic times for the present day world is an idiot.

The fact is, people are not referring to Ireland as part of Britain out of respect for the true identity of Britain. It's merely because they don't know any better. I was mentioning it so people had no excuse to not know better, so next time I could point fingers at them and laugh at them and call them stupid.

Ireland is geographically part of the British Isles. It is not British except by classical terms.

You can confuse matters more by calling Ireland British because of the way things were hundreds of years ago, if you want. But then I'll just further complicate things by calling you extremely gay.

I believe that that's in reference to the fact that most of the cast and crew are British (Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Liam Neeson Cillian Murphy, Christopher Nolan). And since when can you take what major news sources say as FACT? Even Warner Brothers has been giving out bogus information.

But who knows, I could be wrong. Dead wrong.

This is usually not something that bothers me enough to say anything, but it's been done so much at this stage I thought I'd mention it.

The Republic of Ireland is not part of Britain. Britain does not own it, nor are the citizens of British Nationality. Therefore, somebody who comes from the Republic of Ireland is Irish. Ireland and England are two separate countries.

Probably you made a mistake, or perhaps mentioned his name offhandedly. I'm just saying it because it's always good to know things like this. It's irritating for your country and nationality to constantly be referred to as British (or anything else for that matter) when it's not. I'm sure the Canadians and Estonian people get the same sort of thing.

And back to the thread: I also disagree with changing the nationality of Batman. Was he perhaps british in the comics? I never read them. But I always thought he was supposed to be one of those patriotic american superheroes.... Hmmm...

And Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka?! Noooo!

Historical content does not make a game.

But that is not important. Why? Because Grim GOT THROUGH! Hurray for Grim Fandango and Tim Schafer!
#1180
You can't say that GK is better because of the historical content...

...Grim Fandango incorporated some wonderful myths and artistic styles into a beautiful and well-paced story. It was a great game.

I'm sure GK was too...

Vel is allowed to like whatever games he chooses. It does annoy me the way he defends them by proving their superiority against other games, but I probably do the same when I say stuff like, "GK SUCKS! SCREW YOU! GRIM FOREVER!" and suchlike...

Man, like I would ever swear at Vel for saying such stuff.
