Well I just whipped out my watercolours and closed my eyes, and this image is the reflection of my inner self, as portrayed by logitek my inner eye.

Just one more dab and.... THERE!!!

Hah.

Anyway, I'm off to Nigeria. I appear to have come across quite a sum of money. I won't say how much. Twenty Five Million Dollars. A wealthy businessman found me through his contacts on the internet. I am the last surviving heir of the Duke of Nigowigo and as such they wish to give me his vast estate and a sizable sum of money. However, this will never be allowed out of the country. Corrupt government officials plan to retrieve the money if it is not claimed by Jan 1st 2004. I have submitted my bank account details and am flying over to Nigera tomorrow to finalize the deal.

See you in a vast estate while sipping fine wines and swagging the best of cheeses. Oh wait, you don't have a rich late uncle in Nigeria that's left you his vast estate. Ha!

His project name is Eshna, and he'll be making your life hell! ;D ;D ;D

I know he is mine.

I make fun of countries worldwide, regardless of skin colour, eye colour or political position. And Tony Blair is a liar, a bad bad liar. And a bad public speaker. Just thought I'd say it (Turned on the TV, saw him)

I don't know what the deal with France is, but they are delightfully caricaturish peoples  ;D ;D ;D

The reason I'm using Dpaint and other ancient programs:

1. So that when I'm walking hand in hand with Tim Schafer up the stairs toward the elevator that leads to the heavenly offices of Doublefine in years to come, I can chat merrily with the old pros about how glad I was when Dpaint 4 was released, or how the gradient tool was vastly overused by many game developers at the time...

2. To get a completely old look. The more sweat and blood that goes into each picture for that game, the less likely I am to skimp and save time.

3. Do the following: Load up Dpaint. Turn on EURYTHMICS, TOM PETTY, DURAN DURAN or AHA. Immerse yourself in the 80's Aroma.
This is the closest I will ever get to time travelling.

Oh I'm just relating to Mr Panda. My dad doesn't need support. If he was on life support, I'd unplug it. What's it called? Forced Ethusasia or something? Seriously, I'm one of those unlucky people with only one parent. The father just donated his sperm.

Gosh, I guess if you truly insist...
*supresses vast amounts of excitement*
My ribcage is going to implode!
You could do one thing.... just to make dialogue writing easier... to you know, harmonise the finished conversations with the music....

You could do the REALLY EVIL DUDES theme!!! Want me to send you a character bio?  ;D   ;D   ;D

God, M0ds, we really really really have to make out some day!

Odd, I was just thinking I was being a bit too enthusiastic. In fact I have another update. I'll just put that on the Original Post for this thread this time, because it's only a storyline correction. I wouldn't want to be all, "OoooOOOOo I'm so EXCITED" and then get bored and abandon the game or anything. But I am. Excited, I mean. This whole project smells of ass! Sweet, CANDY ass! Ass like no other!

I have the same problem. With MI1, I was stuck on the god foresaken ship for at LEAST two weeks. Why? I didn't look in the chest. I didn't even SEE it. So anyway, I loved being stuck. It made getting unstuck even fun-er. I played it again five years later, got stuck in exactly the same place, and got a walkthrough within five minutes of not knowing what to do.

My dad is just insane. Turned violent. Attention disorder, keeps claiming he's deadly ill and going to die. All sorts of shit

I'm the youngest geek of all, and also I started youngest... five five five! (possibly going on six) and all I remember about Speccy was.... Oh BTW I could make text adventure games when I was 8 also.... Ummm something like IF a=2 THEN GOTO 5 etc.,etc.,... just lines and lines and lines of that....... Now stop turning my thread into spam... stop ENCOURAGING ME to spam my OWN thread!

By way of an update, I offer thee the following:

Jimi is the new plotproofer, puzzleproofer and proofraeder. Actually, he's not a Proofraeder, I just thought that was amusing. He is also doing the animations for Disk 22 along with Jenny Sward

Thanks to M0ds and ViagraVargrass Vargtass for offering to do music, I love both of you equally, M0ds moreso. ;D I kid you not. No seriously, I kid, kid. You not! Ha ha! Jesus CHRIST somebody spiked my coffee.

I'd rather release a demo before I ask any of you to do music because every musician tears off a little strip of his soul and bottles it inside every song he makes. I wouldn't want you two to run out of soul, especially with what little you have left of it. Releasing a demo would (1) give you a feel for the game and (2) make certain to myself that I'll have it finished. And by way of demo I mean SPECIAL demo, over three thirds of the game, dedicated to whoever is doing the music. Thanks for the offer, both of which I have taken a screenshot off and saved along with the date and time as proof, so that you can't back out. Now get in there and do some slave labour! Ah ha ha ha ha!

No seriously, seriously, I kid you.

EDIT: There is a moth on my screen and it is obstructing the word "left". Does that mean the sentence reads, "What little you have moth of it"?

Because that would just be silly.

QuoteAnd teh irish all dress like a lepricon and says "top o teh morning to you!!!"

I would like to put you straight on that. They say, "Top o teh mornin' to you, laddy." regardless of age or gender.

The french smell of fermented grapes.

Cows actually do that to show they're ready to mate. Female cows mount other female cows to demonstrate to the Bull that they're horny, and Bulls mount Bulls to demonstrate they're horny and also in the hope of getting some tight young bull ass. This I was told by a farmer.

Bullocks (Castrated bulls) mount other Bullocks because they don't know what else to do.

Mr Panda, your story is the same as mine, right down to the first computer you ever had with soundblaster (not counted Speccy coz it was retarded) and your dad going nuts.

CMI were first sketched and then scanned into a computer for cleaning and coloured in a paint program.

I think LCR was done on canvas and scanned in, but what about other adventure games? Dpaint only does so much. That said, the most recent versions were never ported to PC. I have the 1985 version, which is older than me. And I am doing graphics with it.  For a game. And it's older than me. It's the same age as Microsoft. And a bit younger than Bill Gates.

I actually had a book about animal homosexuality, it had a PHOTOGRAPH of two male OCTUPUSSIES mating.

You'd think that male horses would do other male horses, because after a few seasons of 'activity', mating female horses must be like throwing a sausage up an alley.

QuoteYou whippersnappers don't know you're born. I was making Adventure Games before they even INVENTED pointing and clicking. I used Quill on the Spectrum. Being 27 is so last year, anyway.

I used to make games on the Speccy ZX! Omg! I must have been five or six! So I don't understand why I don't  have a 'Programmers Spirit' deeply embedded in my soul. A 5 year old girl making Speccy Games! Okay well I actually copied the code out of magazines... pages and pages... I couldn't even read properly.... but I made Bomberman in Black and White!!! .... and then my mom touched the lead and it crashed :(

So ha! Ha ha ha! I'm 17 and I was writing (Or, copying out of magazines) codes before all of you! And when I was 8, I could make graphics on the Speccy! like, um, a ball. I couldn't make it move though. I could make other stuff too. It was some binary like code for graphics, right? Something like 1 = black and 0= white so 100110001 = Black pixel white pixel white picel black pixel etc.,...

Mods I was talking to you mostly :P I didn't realise this wasn't all an amateur gaming forum. If I had money, which I do, but not enough, I would do Mittens. Maybe when I'm in College :D

QuoteConsistancy is hard. Avoiding bad jokes is also hard. I'm doing a fairly serious/dark game, and I always have to stop myself from adding all sorts of silly responses to various actions. Is it instinctual? What's up with that

This is the humour that often turns out the funniest, because it's a response that seems funny to you, or that appeals to you, whereas if you have a situation where you're thinking, "Right, well, they're standing here about to board the train, so lets think of a joke, anything at all." you're more likely to put forced humour in it that stands out and is in effect, painful to read.

I'm not trying to make BR a funny game, there's supposed to be SOME humour, but a lot of the humour is coming from the situation. Apart from that, I'm terrified that it's going to end up just not being funny.

As for adding animations, remember that about 7 people worked on MI2, which was full of animations, for over a year.
