I don't actually know any Iraqi men personally, and that what I have heard about them is probably mostly propaganda, and that if I met an Iraqi person I would probably find them to be completely nice and lovely.

Therefore, I cannot say I hate Iraqi people; I hate the Iraqi way of life.

But I was hating it way before the war. All those Republicans are just jumping on the goddamn bandwagon!!! I also hate the Saudi Arabian way of life.

And the Palestinian way of life.

And Michael Jackson! Because he contradicted everything I said in my first post!!!

And Ryam Baco's way of life.

He must be a stinkin' Republic!!!

I must say, I would rather a world full of Americans than a world full of Iraqis.

I heard a lot of people are extremely shocked at the American treatment of Iraq POWs.  I was surprised when I read that Human Rights groups were outraged that the higher members of Saddams regime, who had been involved in a lot of murder and such during his reign, were kept in solitary confinement longer than other POWs.

Firstly, I'm quite glad that these higher members of Saddams regime are being treated worse. It makes sense to me.

Second, it's a war. What do you expect? It's certainly not nice, and it's not something I would do or like to see other people do. But it's a war, and nobody ever said wars were full of hugs and kisses and love. It didn't surprise me to see these pictures. I didn't like them, but it didn't surprise me.

I also don't see or hear of American soldiers killing young Iraq civilians.

Then again, perhaps that was a breakaway group of rebels or something, and just as the Americans that tortured Iraqi POWs don't represent the face of the American Army, those Iraqi murderers were individuals who don't represent the face of Iraq. I don't know, and I can't tell because no matter where you look, all you'll find is propaganda

I don't think I'm in a position to judge any side, because I live in safe, neutral little Ireland, far from all of this trouble. But I admit openly that I tend to be extremely unsympathetic of Iraqi men. Perhaps this is because I'm female, and I dislike the way they treat Iraqi women. I don't know.

Come to think of it, that's something that's always pissed me off. When you discuss with people the way women are treated in these countries, and they say, "Oh, but you have to understand, that's their way of life." As though that makes it alright for them to treat women like that. That's the way they do things, ergo that makes it right. What?

I am so mixed up right now.

A lot of people would agree with you.

Especially those stinkin' Republicans!!!

(If you ever read Yahoo! News Forums, you too will find the previous statement funny!)

You're just jealous that I'm so much richer than you.

I can't help being rich. We're all born that way in the rich west. We'd give you guys some money, but that might upset the balance of us being rich and you being poor.

I do so love being rich.

I feel so bad for that poor guy. I didn't even realize what was about to happen to him when I looked at that picture.

I just went to view the video excerpt but I couldn't.

I really wish people could just forget their religions and their politics and their oil and their grudges, and just get on. I mean, when it comes down to it, we're all people. We're not black people, white people, chinese people. We're not muslims, islamics, christians, athiests. We're people, and we're only those things because we've been brought up to believe we were.

Why do people keep doing this to each other?

So sad.

Minimi,

I am sorry that you are jealous that I have so much more than you.

While I could afford to purchase 3D studio max, I choose not to, because I enjoy basking in evil and money and evil. Most people who live in Ireland, which is a very, very insanely rich country, could afford to buy 3D Studio out of their weekly wages!!! Continue to be jealous of us here in the rich, rich west, Minimi. We are so rich. You should be jealous.

Why use Blender, which is free and crap, when I can use 3D studio max, which is as good as free, and excellent? I mean, would I even notice a difference in my income if I purchased 3D studio? Probably not.

And although it would make absolutely no difference to Autodesk if I continued to pirate it, as they specifically market it for studios that can afford it and don't cater for home users, I think I'll use my vast, vast sums of money and wealth to purchase a copy.

Damn, I am so wealthy. Oh, there's something in my shoe. It's irritating me. Hold on. Wait. Wait. Wait.... Oh, it's just a huge chunk of gold. Silly me! It must have slipped into my shoe while I was walking across my yard filled with gold pebbles, or perhaps it was when I went for a swim in my pool filled with gold coins. Or maybe it fell off the bling that hangs from my neck, which is also gold plated, making moving my head rather difficult.

P.S. LGM, the reason the program costs so much isn't because it's pirated. It's pirated because it costs so much. Autodesk are aiming the product at studios and developers, not home users. It doesn't actually make a difference if I pirate it, because I could never have afforded it anyway, and in the long run it's helping Autodesk because more users are getting familiar with the 3Dsm interface. This sounds crazy, and it sounds like an excuse for pirating, but look at Maya PLE. They caught on, and released PLE, because they saw that by nurturing and encouraging users to use Maya, they were setting themselves up for a bigger market in the future. This is also why Autodesk don't actually do anything to prevent home users from pirating 3D Studio; it's harmless to them. It would only harm them if their target market started doing it.

God, why am I such a worthless and evil person?

Yeah. You're right. I guess £3,000 isn't all that much, anyway.

I am delighted to announce I have SASSER e.

I got the new AVG update, that was released today.

Pessi, if your brother has a process running in task manager called LSASSS.exe, then he probably has SASSER e. I suspected I might have a different variation of SASSER, and I guess I have. Now to set about removing it... although AVG keeps shutting down. Hmmm...

You can download a new tool from Microsoft.com to remove Sasser e.

General Discussion / 3D Studio Max Tutorials?
Tue 11/05/2004 15:38:01
Hi,

I just acquired a copy of 3D studio Max. Awesome!!!

However, most of the tutorials I can find on the net for 3DSM are for intermediate users. I'm a complete beginner. I also can't download big Video Tutorials as my internet connection is pitifully slow.

Does anybody know where I can get good beginners tutorials?

Pessi -> I have a way to stop it from shutting down. Tell your brother; when it shows you the 60 second shutdown screen, click Start -> RunÃ,  and type Shutdown -a

That stops the shut down attempt.

Dear Remo, who is soon to be wed to Tim Schafer,

If you could steal, or acquire something from the Double Fine Booth for me, I would possibly love and respect you forever. Like if they're giving out free pens or if they leave concept art lying around carelessly.

It is my birthday on Thursday. Halfway through E3.

Lots of Love, and Hope,
Salks.

Shuts down your PC regularly.

I'll check for the blaster worm again. Thanks.
#976
I feel for your brother. Is he running XP?

I'm at a complete dead end; nobody knows what to do. Not even microsoft.
#977
Did all of the above already. I'm only using XP firewall, which it claims blocks it at least partially. What gets me is that nothing is detecting it. No virus software is detecting it, even software that previously did. perhaps I already have e.

Like, before any of you guys.

Man, I feel so privilaged. Look, I'm so excited, I can't even spell!
#978
Sigh.

I have tried AVAST, AGV, Stinger, the Microsoft Removal Tool (which claimed to remove all four variations of SASSER) and yet still, seemingly, I have it.

AGV, Stinger, and the Microsoft Removal tool detected and removed it... one after the other, after the last tool claimed to have removed it.

I keep getting the very same LSA SHELL errors, followed by a 60 second shutdown. I can halt the shut downs by going to START -> RUN -> shutdown -a. But then my computer acts weird and sometimes needs to be restarted anyway.

And when I say weird... I clicked to restart, but instead of showing the restart, shut down, sleep mode options, it showed the log off options. Or when I clicked to go into a folder, the folder appeared empty and it showed a nonsensical error message. But this was all fine when I restarted.

I'm running windows XP and I plan to format the goddamn PC anyway because it's obviously riddled with pests, but for now it would be nice to be even a little stable. Does anybody have any ideas as to what this is? Or if it IS Sasser (And it shows all the symptoms of SASSER), how can I remove it?

When I click CTRL, ALT + DEL there is a process there called lsasss.exe (three s's). I can shut this process down. Sometimes there are multiple processes by this name, as well as by lsass.exe.

I also changed my password to something horrible, excrutiately complicated, because I heard bad things about lsasss.exe.

I think it might be nice to change the date to later in the summer, as it coincides with exams and stuff.
