Thanks for your reply :)

Bob was, while being drunken, abducted [by accident], has been chased by space pirates, survives a crash landing on an unknown planet, sees someone dying he just met, stranded in a desert with weird looking rocks and strange huge not working robots while dealing with an hangover...
Also when trying to enter the city he got told by the snail-man that the regime is quite hostile, there's even an curfew!...the music should be giving you, as player, a little "danger" feeling.
This game might have some little influences with star wars, comparing it with that movie is something else :P
This ain't star wars or star trek, this is quantumnauts... (not an epic saga with a beautiful hero, but a poor human on Pyr in 3042, multiverse 13).
But, if someone else feels the same as you, I'll change the music in these rooms (in 60 min. of quantumnauts'soundtrack there's a lot of possibilities)- by the way, I'm a metal guitar player, so for me the word "soft" can be different from your opinion  ;D

I was working on objects (Hitler version - Windows Vista, .tif img) and happened this:

Do you remember exactly what you did just before this happened? If you load the same room again, does the problem happen again?

I added an object, pressed play. AGS started to save the room and then the crash :)
Fortunately nothing happened to my files.

Using DX5 causes a frozen black screen.

Yes that's right, I tried the demo on 3 different pc and configurations but the problem still remain, and hopefully I see this situation it's not only for me :). We'll wait for the update :) Thanks

Hey we're back.

At http://www.midiandesign.com

or directly from youtube

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPGIoTr-FU4

you can find a video from a raw demo version (0.2), there's a tutorial and the intro.
It's a Low quality video made by a beta tester and it's in italian atm, but it's possible
to see a small part of the game, the GUI (MePod), some sprites and the music (only 6 minutes
here, the entire soundtrack it's aprox 60min).
Bob abducted from the Quantumnaut, the arrival of Space Pirates, the death of the Quantumnaut
and Bob listening to his song recorded in his pod, before the exploration.

See u soon :)

I tried two times, and for two times it crashed, in two different ways, this is the second one:

*Attempt of reading or writing of the protected memory. Often this condition indicates that other parts of the memory are damaged.
Version: AGS 3.2.0.93

I'm on Vista, game in 32bit color, 1024x768, I imported only 1 BG and 1 OGG, the first time it crashed running the game, I edited everything again from THE start, deleting everything, and it crashed while I was editing a simple Wait (100);  :D

Do you also get these problems with 3.1.2 SP1 or is it only the latest beta that does it? That's a crash in the script editor which I haven't changed in 3.2, so there's no reason why there should be any new bugs there.

I made a game with the 3.1.2 without problems. The differences are in the first game [jpg & mp3 16bit color] in this last [tif and ogg 32 bit color].. I added only 1 tif and 1 ogg and everytime something went wrong.

Any idea of a release date?
No, maybe 9 months  ;D

The storyline reminds me of The Journey Home by Adamski
It's something between The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Galaxy Quest.

SPEED OF LIGHT, SPACE PIRATES AND MULTIVERSES.

The Quantumnaut’s task was simple: bring his captain back on board of the spaceship through teleportation, within the time required for this mission: 3 hours on the planet earth in 2010, Universe 1st.
But because of a wrong coordinate the Quantumnaut by accident teleported the wrong person. This unlucky person was an ordinary boy called Bob who was, just before the teleportation, leaving his favorite pub where he has been playing with his band that evening, ending up being pretty drunk, as usual.
After the teleportation, Bob thought that everything he saw was just a drunken imagination.
But it’s as real as the immense shadow that was approaching the spaceship on which he found himself at thas very moment: space pirates!

...Panic...

The Quantumnaut now have to take a difficult decision: bring back his captain on board of the spaceship with the risk of having to deal with the pirates, who hunt between dimensions for systems owned and used by elite soldiers from certain empires in order to become the new rulers of the multiverses. (The pirates have already managed to steal one system from an unlucky ship of the fleet of Utharium, in Universe 5)
Or, the only other option that is left, running away...

...Escape...

The Quantumnaut has activated the automatic escape system, a program which calculates random co-ordinates to warp the Quantumship into a safe place, far away from those pirates.
The tractor beam of this immense pirates’ Mothership was definitely hard to evade, but the unlucky ones manage to escape into the thirteenth Universe, year 3042...
...But the motors and the control system have now been completely damaged.
The only option is making a crash landing on the first planet they encounter…
They crashed on a red, hot planet with strange trunk-like shaped rocks (!!!)
The last thing that the eyes of the Quantumnaut saw: a Captain lost in space and time, their  spaceship of incalculable value crushed on a, perhaps, hostile planet and a drunk guy called Bob, who wasn’t worrying about anything, convinced of having exaggerated with the beer... This is all too much for the Quantumnauts heart. He dies, leaving Bob alone with a wrecked spaceship on a strange planet, far away from home.
Bob managed to leave the spaceship. Then he begins to realize that everything that has happened until now isn't just a drunken imagination. On the contrary, it’s the very hard reality.

The road back home? Definitely long.

I clicked the link and it works fine. This is in Firefox 3.5. Verified I am able to edit my own games after this.

P.S. This doesn't belong in this forum which is for technical questions about AGS, not issues with the website.

Sorry, you're right, the link works :)
#135
Yes I'm logged in the forum and when I chose edit its entry I can edit, but I can't see
Quote
"Current password:   Password not required, you are logged in as the game owner (MD)" at the bottom?

I tried to select Add a game, and it says
Sorry but you must be logged in... and I'm logged! :D
4 days ago everything works, today no...
#136
Maybe it's my fault, but when I try editing the infos i get the message : invalid password.

I'm the owner of the game (MD), and it doesn't work with password or any entry, logged in forum or not.

Ok, there's a lot of people with this problem (in hi res games).

I found this code by WHAM:
Code: ags

int walkies = 1;

function repeatedly_execute() {

int areanumber = GetWalkableAreaAt(player.x - GetViewportX(), player.y - GetViewportY());

// When ego walks off a walkable area
if (areanumber == 0) {
// First force him to move one pixel left
  if (walkies == 1) {
  cEgo.Move(cEgo.x - 2, cEgo.y, eBlock, eAnywhere);
  walkies = 0; }
  // And if that didn't work, two pixels to the right.
  else {
  cEgo.Move(cEgo.x + 4, cEgo.y, eBlock, eAnywhere);
  walkies = 1;
  }
}
// When all is right again, reset the rig.
else if (areanumber != 0) {
  walkies = 1;
}
}

But it doesn't work until I set borders to the edges (0,768, 1024 or larger).
Before the new edges, EGO gets stuck and the code doesn't work, with 0 border it's ok (don't ask me why).

I modify
Code: ags

  cEgo.Move(cEgo.x - 2, cEgo.y, eBlock, eAnywhere);

with
Code: ags

  cEgo.Move(cEgo.x + 2, cEgo.y + 2, eBlock, eAnywhere);

And it seems perfect for my case.

Pleeeeeease fix this issue in hi-res games when you can  ;) It works but it's not a perfect solution  :)
#138
A new downloadable version is now available.
Fixed some bugs (thanks to WHAM for a solution to the stuck issue, I found an old thread and saw a lot of people having problems with this bug), and finally an improved translation (a lot better than mine :D:D Thanks to Arj0n).
#139
There are very large rooms, but it stuck also in non-scrolling rooms.
#140
Oh sorry, we talk a lot about in the completed forum and I forgot :D

It stuck randomly, doesn't matter if there's a big box or a line 8 px height.
I played the game from the start to the end and nothing happens, I do it again and stuck in a room, but there's people in this forum saying that stuck every 2 rooms... very annoing :(
