I'd like to be there... about time I visited the neighbors' country

Right, I'm back from my extended Mittens-n-more vacation and I've uploaded some pictures:

After the longest train ride of my life (34 hours - I make no jokes) I have arrived in Seattle. A proper city, not like the freeway spaghetti/palmtrees/sad concrete buildings mess that is most of LA
I had a great time this Mittens ... it may have been a little more quiet and laid back but we did some truly awesome things and I had a blast seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones. Also: hat shaped birthday cake and atomic fireballs. Wow.

Next year Germany? I'm so there

We'll try some coordinated jumping up-and-down in Disneyworld today. See if we can break California and float it off into the Pacific

We saw Kurt yesterday in Big Trouble in Little China. Let's just say it didn't age well - still hilarious though

It's a nice house with some truly huge 2-person beds! The neighborhood reminds me of the one the house in Ireland was in. With extra palmtrees.

I'm there. I'm in the Los of the Angeles! In some shady backwater hotel near LAX. So yeah, Progz - I can meet you at LAX tomorrow, but if you're talking about 6:15 AM then nooooo ... I need to finish my continental breakfast first. I could be there between 9 and 10 AM.

And it's a phenomenal shame you're not coming Chris. Won't be the same without you!

I can do backgrounds, animation, puzzle/story design and real shitty voice acting 

So here's an idea ... (and I know this has probably been suggested many, many times before for previous Mittenses): seeing as we will be together for a week with a talented bunch of game makers, why don't we organize a 1 or 2 day game jam? See if we can make a game (or hell, a couple of them) at Mittens '12?

[Deposit Update:]

I have vague plans of staying in the area for about a week afterward. Doing what exactly, I do not yet know.

High on my wish list is renting a convertible and driving around LA siteseeing, particularly the Capital Records building, Hollywood, that makeout point that is in all the movies, and cruising around Beverly Hills and Santa Monica. Maybe go further up the coast into wine country?

It would be preferable to have travel mates during the post-Mittens days, so planning something together would be for the best.

Deposit Update: So far 4 people have paid, all within three hours of when I started accepting payments, but I have not recieved any more in the last two days. The initial payment is in almost 3 days. While I can make an extra payment, I can only do ONE extra one right now, so need at least 6 more people to send in theirs. If not, I will have to come up with a contingency and we risk losing the house fore those dates.

I will make my payment either tonight or tomorrow morning... and I'll be staying another 1 or 2 weeks, visiting a friend in Seattle.
