Towards the end of the movie, when the guy carrying the camera around gets killed by the monster I think the creature is shown just a little too long and too "pretty". I could have done with something a little more ambiguous.

It's a beautiful BG. Very much in the FoA style, and I love watching the whole process of tweaking and changing...
Just one little thing bothers the fubbery ruck out of me: of the four pillars supporting the roof lintel (?) in the back/right of the picture, the second one is broken and lacking its' center part. Which is fine. But what is keeping up both the lintel stones and the remaining top of the pillar? They're just hanging there! It looks a little... unnatural. Still; great BG!

I think you should probably give the Golden Compass a miss if you liked the books, or enjoy well made films. It was well cast, beautifully filmed, poorly shot and clumsily scripted affair.  I found it to be atmospheric and exciting in places, but I think that was largely due to my love of the books.

Not quite sure - but with the F8 Safe Mode option you'll make sure most of the stuff that usually runs when windows starts, gets no chance to start. Does not stop any really nasty viruses etc. but might stop some ad- and spyware...

It might be a good idea to run Spybot, AdAware etc. after restarting Windows in safe mode without network access (keep F8 pressed when booting your PC). Worked for me, once...

I've recently started playing Halo (the first one) and by GOD is it monotonous..

You have no idea what's in store for you: try Halo 2 - that's a real snoozefest. I've never seen so much copy/paste mediocrity in level design in my life. Haven't played Halo 3, so wouldn't know...

Yahtzee's reviews are indeed awesome. It really pays off to watch them twice or three times because of all the extra little things that happen in the animation. It's really, really clever.

Then, why don' t we go to sun panels, which are more ecological and (at least in my country) more reliable than the wind? 

I think we should. Solar panels for everyplace sunny, wind & wave parks out on the sea (where they might not bother birds so much) and geothermal wherever we can find it.
