Said it before, saying it again: an AGS interpreter for DS (or PSP) would be awesome. Hop to it, ace coders! ;D

32 colour, Amiga DPaint crap ... circa 1990:

(all these are for games that I never finished:  turnbased RPG, turnbased RTS, etc. If you'd like to use any of these graphics: feel free!).

Well - they probably do thing nicely by the rules for "proper EA personnel", yes. But as a freelance tester you're expected to get the job done in the time they allocate. They never allocate enough time though... :D

Prog... EA pay overtime now I'm pretty sure.

Well, not last time that I was an LT tester there...

In other, relevant news, I actually managed to secure a copy of Burning Crusades somehow so... woo. That's great.

Congrats!

Hell yeah...

http://www.context.cx/ is a great free editor that has syntax checking for a cr*pload of programming languages, of which XML is one. No AGS syntax checker, though...

Even though I'm chuffed to the gills with the FoY nomination, I do agree that the list of nominated games seems very unbalanced. Full blown 100 people-team commercial titles next to one person homegrown games? Bit odd, really...

I swear to the gods - if I see one more of those "haha-funny-cartoony-bent-doorframes-and-closets" backgrounds I'm gonna kill myself. ;)

Finances allowing I'd love to be there as well...

Eh. Me. Recently. In something that may at one time have been a plane.

Of course. Hardly seems worth adding here, I know it'll get made, over the course of the next several years. So I'm not holding my breath, but I look forward to it always.

Working on it! ;D

3.  Made the stairs look less like a ramp.  This was arbitrary but I think it looks better.

Very nice background, but I think a ramp would make more sense than some stairs actually. Makes getting those big boxes in there a whole lot easier. ;)

I'm a stormtrooper for the evil Empire, er... I work for EA once in a while as a localization tester. Actually I'm writing this from a hotel room, since I'm in Sweden right now testing Need for Speed Carbon.

Same here. Except I'm not in Sweden right now. And I'm not testing anything at the moment.

As a Japanese RPG gamer, I'd be walzting into peoples' houses and touching all their furniture looking for items, then I'd walk around for a bit, talking to people and looking for someone to offer me an odd job.

Hey, don't forget to pick up ALL their pottery and barrels, and throw those at the walls looking for huge gems or shiny apples. ;)

Awesome stuff, thanks!
Seven and a half months to make Sam and Max... do you hear that, FOA team? :=

Sam and Max ... pah! ... took them only seven and a half months. We'll show them: seven and a half years and not a day less for FoA! Take that, Tim Shafer! ;D

oh. beh. FoA ... not FoY ... must be getting paranoid...

Hm, probably the video card, I'm guessing. Oh well, no expoloring a infinite universe full of endless possibilities for me.

*sniff*

Davy

Bummer dude! :-\ Oh well, by the time this project is finished, computers will be an outmoded concept anyway... ;)

I honestly have no idea. It is a computer is all it is to me. :) How can I find out?

Davy

Lol  ;D ... with figuring out exactly what you have I can't really help you. But you need a fairly quick computer (nothing ridiculous though) that runs Windows 98,2K or XP, has DirectX 7, a decent wallop of memory and - most importantly - has a video card that does hardware 3D acceleration. I'm guessing that's something your 'puter lacks, alas... :-[

Aw, this sounds awesome, but I can't get it to work! It just says "Unable to create 3d scene". What's wrong?  :(

Davy

Ooh ... that IS strange.  ??? What kind of system are you trying to run this on?

btw is it still possible to go to the werewolf renneaisance planet that one guy went to in that topic of yours miez? :S

I'm afraid not ... as long as I'm still tinkering around with the code a "world name" will always show a consistent world for 1 version, but it will be different for another version.
In the future Wanderer will save visited world data, and loading them when you re-visit, so the program version will not be an issue anymore.

A suggestion - It'd be nice to have the ability to speed up.

Yeah ... it will be possible to run in the future. As well as jump. Walking & running speed and the distance you can jump will be influenced by a planets/moons gravity (yay! low-grav super jumps!). :)
