hehe! cool! ;D
and the question about the size of my Wacom (that sounds more rude than intended): it's an A6 (postcard size).

And I thought no violins? ;)

I'm all for the Altar of Home Aplliances - sounds way cool. And I don't mind (read: like) doing lo-res, lo-colour :)

Edit: I like the film noir amusement park theme a lot as well! ("Inside the Casablanca house of horrors"). A bit like Grim Fandango...

I use a Wacom Intuos 2, with a cordless mouse and (pressure sensitive) pen. Horribly expensive, but worth every damn buck :)

I want a tablet....

I really couldn't live without it anymore, a tablet makes your life so much more fun! :)

Wow! Doubleplus good! - that intro kicks the whales' posterior! - the animation really rocks, very cartoony, very funny ... can't wait for the full thing ... (twiddles thumbs)

Background artist for the original FoA - I wish. Anyway, these snippets are just a taste of what is to come (he types, overconfidence oozing out his ears). Thanks again for all the oohs & aahs!

This picture was quite simple to make, as most of the source material was existing photography: the black & white "dig in mesopotamia" photographs, the pen, even the newspaper. Most work was making the composite of the newspaper photograph (using pictures of the sphinx, a line of trucks and several pictures of "our" general). It looks a little less "handdrawn" than the other pictures, but so do the closeup pictures in the original FoA, and the low res makes it work somehow (I think).

LOL - not my templates! an empty rectangle on a piece of paper and an empty photoshop file :)
And I think I will stick around this forum for a bit - FoY may be coming along nicely bit it isn't quite finished yet - and I like the crowd in here!

Just to clear up some of the hazy "how are these pictures done?" issues: I make a pencil sketch (on the patented FoY sketch template TM) - scan it as a 150 DPI greyscale image, stuff it in my patented FoY Photoshop template (TM). Then I draw the major lines, fill in the larger shapes with flat colour or ranges of colour. Next is a prolonged period of pixelbashing to get all the anti-aliasing to look right, finished off with some highlights and shadows. Most pictures take around 4 hours (the office of Dr. Jones was a real monster though, with all the intricate details - and took considerably longer).
Thanks for all the praise  ::) - I love doing this stuff!

er - m0ds - we are NOT in it for the sex? - damn, there goes another fine plan ;)
