One of the greatest cult classics of all time, "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" was on T.V. last night, and I decided to look up the actors and stuff on imdb.  After clicking through some links, I found this:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0367594/

I hadn't heard about this before, but I think it'll be awesome to see a remake of this movie.  Check out who's directing it, and who'll be playing the starring role of Willy Wonka.  It'll be awesome to see this.

Women are unusually picky about what movies they like.  I, on the other hand, usually enjoy any movie I watch to some extent.  It's not that films are made for men, it's that men are more open-minded than women when it comes to the artistic quality of a film.

Some of you guys are sounding like the trick-or-treaters on Halloween who get pissed off when the guy in the rich house only gives out a single Tootsie Roll, so they egg the house and run off.

LucasArts is a business, and they have to look out for what's in the best interest of their company.  Right now, the best thing for them to do is mass-produce Star Wars games.

Let's take matters into our OWN hands.  It's time to make our own Sam & Max fangame.  (Then have it banished to the nether regions because LucasArts would consider it a copyright infringement.)

This is a beautiful art style.  I wish you the best on completing your game.

The simplest way to do this would be to use one or more particle generators in, e.g., 3dsmax.  You could try applying the motion blur in 3dsmax itself (video post, if I recall correctly), but you might get more creative results if you export the animation as a sequence of frames then create a Photoshop Action which outwardly blurs the stars on each frame.

Perhaps that would be a good idea.  Instead of just writing short stories, we should write stories adapted for an adventure game, perhaps even organized into a screenplay with dialogue options and such.

You all are ruining masterful works of art.  There was absolutely nothing wrong with the original sprites and animations Hotspot and LostTraveler did.  Stop corrupting these masterpieces and demonizing them into abominations of nature.

Grim Fandango doesn't seem to need much help winning, apparently, but I made sure to vote for it anyway.

You should set up a separate AGS Speed Chess division for those of us who get bored waiting for other players to make in a move in a 60 minute game.  I'd love to play chess against other AGSers.  I used to be on a chess team in school, and we kicked serious butt at the competitions.  However, it's been so long, I probably suck now.

I have to admit, I would've liked to see the backgrounds like the ones you initially showed, rather than handpainted.  You made very good use of filters for those backgrounds.  I agree with big brother here: the surreal look is fitting for a game like Loom.  The only problem is making the character sprites fit.

I would love to see a game where everyone moves with two-frame walk animations.

I believe MuzlakOofmay from the Tierra/AGDI forums (presumably the same as MHawk?) was working on it.  He put it on hold, because it was unclear whether or not AGDI would pick up the project.  I doubt AGDI would remake it.  Their next project after QFG2VGA is apparently going to be an original game.

Right now, Muzlak is working on a KQ4VGA remake with his own game engine: http://www.nancycarterdesign.com/spongefactory/

I think Erpy made that comment because of Daniel Stacey's (the storywriter for KQ2VGA) opinion that any KQ3 and KQ4 remake should be basically untouched storywise.  I, on the other hand, think close collaboration with Daniel Stacey and AGDI would be better, since both KQ3 and KQ4 could benefit from enhancement.

There was a short KQ3VGA demo awhile ago.  Look around for it, if it's still available.

Vel, you really shouldn't spoil the ending of QFG4 in the Ezine.

terranRICH, I think this is a great idea.  What are the tokens going to look like?  Are you going to use the heads of AGSers?
