Thanks. I know it's a major dissappointment to have ending like that and if/when I redo the game, it'll be a lot better.

I'm thinking of changing some scenes too, so that there's also new areas to explore. But now it's time for break and Clown at the Circus. And who knows, maybe a new Mags.

Congrats to Nihilyst!

I didn't quite have time to play through all of the games, so I didn't yet comment them. Anyway I have played all of them that much, that I could decide who to vote.

THTAMS was despite its little dfficulties by far the most interesting entry. It is versatile and it is always great to have something different. It is courageous to make that kind of game in short time span and in overall Nihilyst succeeded more then well.

FSi's entry was once again easily recognisable and actually some of the weird jokes made me smile. :)

Tr9000 had also a good attempt with his game.

Thank you, Klaus. Don't cry. ;)

I will make my best to have the game ready. Even if it takes all night. :)

EDIT:

P.I. Al Luminum: Haunted House
[/color]
The beta version (my entry) is now downloadable at http://koti.mbnet.fi/paajanen/ags/mags_al_luminum_haunted_house.rar

Preview:

I must admit that I would be surprised if all of you can play it through without having major bugs.

The game itself is fairly easy and short. Much shorter and easier than my plans were. I hope to release proper version at least together with Clown at the Circus, which has been on hold for this time I have been working on this.

But now I must start getting myself ready for the Halloween dress party.

And no, I'm not going to dress as Al Luminum. ;)

One hour to go?

Thank you for extra time, but I think I still need to release it unfinished. But that's my problem, we need to get the voting started. :)

Edit: I think I am very close to finish, so I decided not to release anything unfinished. Also I don't feel like whipping up a demo, like I did last time I partipicated.

So, for my part it's okay to start voting. I hope to have chance to release the game tomorrow. I don't mind if it's not counted as an entry. :)

Klaus: Would it be too bold from me to request extension of 10-12 hours?

Come on ildu, post it already! ;)

Tremendous background Penguin!

SSH: I agree.

Of course we should change the title, because my art is amazing too.. ;)

August, 2003 Characters for first(?) team challenge.

I believe my team doesn't mind showing them, since the game was never finished. Anyone of the team want's to continue? ;)

April, 2003: She was supposed to be in Where (one of my games).

Oh my god, no more high-res for me, please..

March, 2003: Some sprite jam entries and stuff.

1. That carrot must be a male one! ;)
2. Machine that turns computer off when being too long in AGS forums.
3. Spiritborg, some kind of waiter cyborg.
4. Nif, an angry creature.
5. Seamonster, spritejam entry (probably July, 2003).

Then some real history from my part, unbeliveable that these are soon 6 years old.

December, 2000:

1. Some general characters
2. He is walking! Mafia guy for some never finished game.
3. Yes, you guessed right (I doubt). It is C3PO from Star Wars!  ;D

I don't know if I've made any progress in past years. I hope I have. ;)

One way would be sign language, but that might be hard to implement?

For example trading would go like this:
person1: points leather jacket in his/hers hands and shows four by fingers
person2: shakes his/her head disappointed and shows two fingers
person1: shows three fingers
person2: nods and smiles and leather jacket changes owner

Lost of animating in this option. :)

At least you get one from me.

I'm working very hard now, because I don't want to play other competition games before my own is finished and I'm dying to play those other entries. ;)

Mozza: That is perhaps a bit too close to this original image: http://www.visionmelody.com/myspace/stewie.png

SergioCornaga: That is lovely! Well animated too. Those little creatures were one of the top things in that movie.

For me the highlights in the chest look a little bit too bright, but otherwise it seems perfect. :)

Well done.
#52
Because it is fun, entertaining and educative, perhaps. ;)

And also because even entering feels like victory. :)
#53
Yeah, not long after I had posted I came up with the same solution. :)

To give at least little something to the topic too, I think good places to hit paydirt would be garage sales and similar.

Today, I found Beneath A Steel Sky on CD for 99p at my local Oxfam - I was chuffed! :D
I hope I don't sound smart-ass, or plain stupid, but isn't that game freeware nowadays?

Edit: Not that I would find 99p too expensive, of course.

First of all, thank you very much for functionality votes. And even though I don't take part because I'd wanted to win or anything, it is good to notice that with different categories of voting, different type of backgrounds (eg. pixel art vs. digital painting) can enter and are still taken seriously. It might make the voting harder, but that only shows how much people here respect all sorts of digital art.

I hope that made sense. I just woke up and I am still a bit sleepy. :)

Congratulations to all contestants and to our winner loominous! Huge thank you to our host ildu!

About the 3-item rule, I liked it and as long as they are not too specific items I'd like to see that in further competitions. It doesn't necessarily be just three item, but something from one to three. But like I said, not in the way of: "...and you need to have piano in it...", but rather (like you had): "...any kind of instrument, not just musical...".

Thanks again, I hope to have time enter the next one too. :)

Looks and sounds interesting. :)

I guess I can also slip one WiP screen myself. Panel on the wall and bookself seem to be traditional in haunted houses. :)

Let's see if can make it in time. I'm not anywhere near as far as you are, but I think your game will also be quite much longer than mine anyway.

It is funny, but the first thing that I noticed too was the strap going over wrong shoulder (or the guitar case being wrong way around).

About the pose, I think usually it is good to have the other leg little bit in different direction than the other and like Tuomas said legs should be a bit apart from each other. He could also lean more forward.

A quick one:
2x

And although this might sound weird, I gave him an ass.

My unprofessional advise would be: Do not do it.

You might manage it and probably you will, but I would see it only making it easier to fall into same kind of situation again after a while. My opinion is that it simply isn't healthy and it definately isn't enjoyable. Worst thing would be how this kind of pushing to limits would affect people around you.

Like you said it yourself when you don't have to do things that reguire thinking, it is acceptable. But I think that especially creative work will just suffer too much.

If there is any way to avoid this hectic month, try to do it. At least take it easy whenever you have change.
