Let me just say this about the game you are refering to...the game was interesting, and it had as many good aspects as bad ones, and as always was well polished. But the ending kind of ruined the tone of the game. It was also a joke at Mittens, and this game was made more for those people in mind, then any commentary on how good/bad the game is. It is what it is, don't look too far for meaning.

Just ask us to send you a pack and we'll do so. I guess it's smart to steal little stuff, because who's going to bother to report it to anyone?

It's not so much a game, as it is an experience. And you as the player did get to click the narrator countdown of minutes, so by that technicality it can be considered a game, and thus it is here, rather than in some other silly little place.

You are correct sir...I shall go change the topic post haste...for those who come latter I used days instead of minutes! But that shouldn't ruin the experience. So enjoy!

For everyone to enjoy...it's best if you played Yahtzee's game first.

Can't wait to see some pictures, as I didn't bring a camera.

I had one of the best time of my life...and for those in the U.S. who didn't come, without good reasons, shame on you!

BTW Grund, I have your hoody, you left it in the cabin.

EDIT - Also give us that log, Jet!

The fact that CJ never gives his oppinion, or very rarely does, about new/old games, should be the clincher in telling everyone it's not CJ. Assuming CJ hasn't changed his mind on that issue, I can only assume it's someone else.

Great stuff! And very fast in production. The music was...dare I say it...awesome! Most of the dialog was natural, and most of the puzzles were fairly logical (within the bounds of fiction). Can't wait for more.

MIDI music is just about atmosphere, it's a much smaller size, and people can still make some pretty cool tunes with it.

It all just depends on what type of game you're making, and how good the graphics are. If you're willing to make games with millions of colors, than size isn't an issue with you, and you should probably use more high tech music, which fits the more modern graphics. If you're going for an old school look or feel, than MIDI is great. It's only real big drawback is that it sounds different on other computers.

From experience, I've made some tunes that I enjoyed a lot, and when I listened to the tunes on another computer, they might sound completely different, and the instruments might not go together as well.

You also have to consider that most people are making games for free...so we're lucky to get music at all...and really lucky if it's all original.

I'd make a short game to get my mind off the loss. Not that I wouldn't continue with it...I'd just put it on hold. Sometimes it's nice to take a break from a game, even if no one but you see's what you made.

I'd try to get it recovered, but if it's too pricey, you're just out of luck. I don't back up my files like I should, I have an outdated backup of my game, but I think everyone just thinks everything is going to be okay. So if it makes you feel any better, I'm sure a few people will back-up their games now, which could potentialy stop this from happening to other people.

Don't forget, AQ2 demo had a cameo of Granny Zombiekiller, Pirate fry, and Dr. Ohio Mercurus.

A cameo is more funny when not expected...using them too much, would ruin their novelty.

Speaking of which, Blazing Saddles had it's 30th anniversary a week or two ago. My roomate got the DVD.

Firefly was interesting, but I don't think it was the greatest mix of western/sci-fi. Yes, they were on the fringe of the known worlds, but it wasn't believable that the colonist would be good ol' country boys/girls, instead of a multitude of intelligent differently skilled people. They are attempting to make a movie, though, and get the series back on the air...so don't give up, it had it's enjoyable aspects to it. And I think it has a strong fan base, for a show that only lasted as long as it did...I personally only saw it because a friend bought the DVD's. I did get hooked, never got into the western thing, though.

I think Western and Sci-fi are almost the same genre...that of exploration. Instead of harsh deserts you have the cold of space. Indians (Native Americans) are replaced by aliens. Six shooter is replaced by a laser (as noted before).

But let's be serious. Who cares what genre of adventure games come out, as long as a few come our way.

My friend had a sprint phone and it started giving him problems, the service was only so-so. So he called them up, and he got the latest model phone, with a free upgrade of minutes. Just goes to show you, not all cell phone companies are bastards. Some realise, that when you're customers are people, it pays to be nice to them. Becuase they'll tell everyone they know if they get bad service. See above posts for proof of such.

There are other forums besides AGS?

What's that brown smudge on your nose, rode?

I'm sure CJ is intelligent enough to have a back-up for AGS. But just to make sure, let's send him a computer crippling virus.

Eric...I only made one game out of it. However, I did, and still do, have plans to make a sequel to my first IntastGame...in fact I planned on making a series. In fact, I have all the puzzles mapped out. So what's stopping me? I've commited myself not to work on anything else until AQ2 is finished, whenever that is.

As mentioned before, though. The graphics were limited to spacey games. It only had one tune (remind me to give you the tunes I made for mine). The file conversion was a bit on the annoying side. Mind you, the way you packed it, saved space...but perhaps you should point people to a free application that converts the files, so they can edit them.

I also feel that as the community is growing, and we get more poeple with artistic abilities, that people feel the need to make a game with millions of colors, when 256 will do. And while the graphics were great three years ago (and still are today), the community tends to go a different direction with graphics. Also, another problem, lies in that it's hard to edit these characters when you didn't make them. So if I want the main character to do something you haven't made, then I would have to go to you to make him. Because obviously I can't draw otherwise I wouldn't be using this tool.

As said, it's also used for people to practice with...so it is getting use, even though you don't see it. And you never know...I might just throw out a short InstaGame for the hell of it now (probably won't be involved with the last one). I think it's a great tool, and have always said so. I think that adding more graphics, and characters, would help to allow people to use this more.

I don't necessarily agree about buying things you don't need...it's balancing your fun money with your rent money that's important. If I take ten dollars out of my paycheck every week I can save up enough to buy a dvd every once in a while. Just don't buy one every week.

Also, go to your grocery store. A lot of people go out to eat almost everyday, and that will add up quick. Now's your time to experiment with cooking, figuring out how mom or dad made things, or making your own things. 20 to 30 bucks will last me a week on food if I go to the grocery, sometimes it's even less. Not that you should go out to eat, just not all the time.

Drinking. It's fun, but once again, something you don't need to do everyday. And if you do get into the habit of drinking a lot, go a lighter beer. It might not taste as good, but you can keep that beer gut off, more succesfully.

Find a group of friends that you can just hang out with...where alchohol doesn't NEED to be involved. There are some people you're only friends with at a party, but you'll never get together for anything else. Which isn't a bad thing, just make sure not all of your friends are like this.

When all is said and done, it's all a matter of moderation. Just be smart, and you'll minimize some of the problems that'll come your way.

Enjoyable game, especially the music...and I'd write more, but apparently everytime I do, someone edits it, or deletes it. (Probably deleted it, because someone edited it, for humorous appeal).

Just wanted to say...I'll be downloading and plaing this game. I'll give my critique later.

But about plublicity...I'll just say, Play Ace Quest, and leave it at that.

-MillsJROSS

EDIT - Just played it. Um...I'll give it some points for being made in AC...so yeah...Lassi sure did have a quest. Good job?
