Trapazoid, it seems you are right. I was taken for a fool! He made it seem so real, that it was written by someone else. Which explains the end...he gives us chapters to the next book and explains that Steven King had usurped the rights to write the book, therefore Goldman doesn't even have to worry about ever finishing a second book.

I think you guys took my saying it was fluff as a bad thing. No, I wasn't. I was saying it's fluff, as in fun anf entertaining, but not much more. I didn't think it needed to be anything more. It's like the movie the Princes Bride, pure fluff! And I love it. The books better, though (the edited one).

I was just watching tech tv and they mentioned the book has made a new record, they put 8 and 1/2 million copies out, and 5 million were sold the first day.

I read the first two a couple of years ago. They're basically just fluff, its good to read between some more serious works, it's kind of like a vacation from reading, because you really don't have to think. Personally, though, it'll never be as good as Redwall.

The movies were fun, but loooong...and if you really want to save money, don't go to the books stores the next time the next book comes out. Go to a grocery store, or a walmart/target, because they sell them for cheaper, and you probably have a better chance of actually getting a book. I know this because we sold them for 20, and someone said they saw one for 18 at another store. There was no long line, and you don't have to pay more that it's worth (well, you do, you just don't have to pay as much).

It's always a good idea to have some sort of grasp on where the game is going, and what puzzles will take the player there. When making a game I tend to have the big picture in my head (without puzzles, just what I want to be done and in what order, as far as character to character interaction). I do have some ideas for future puzzles, but most of the puzzles I work in later. Each new section that I make, I write a rough walkthrough that'll take me to the next section. Now I wouldn't give this rough walkthrough for other players to use, as in some cases I leave out things I already know I will do, and I keep it simple so that only I understand what the walkthrough means (I might skip verbs because I know exactly how I want to use the object).

How isn't the "grammatical rules," a perfect analogy? All the grammtical rules represent are certain norms. A sentence isn't a sentence without a verb and noun. It's just a definition of what should be used. Just like musical conventions. Now just because you don't follow these set rules, doesn't mean your not making music. Just like if you wrote something that grammatically not supposed to be done, it's still literature. Then why should one learn these rules?

In literature we need to understand what we are reading, thus grammar is used. If a person writes without knowing anything about grammar means that whatever message they are trying to get across, might not be interpreted. Confusion will ensue. It's still literature, as we said, but it's message is obscured. It is only after one has learned this rules reasonable, can one break them so that the reader can still understand what is going on, even though it might be breaking several guidlines.

It's the same with music. There are certain norms one expects from music. Now if you just go into making music without knowing anything, you don't know what you'll get. It'll be unique, yes. And it'll still be music. But by knowing what is acceptable, one is then able to break into other areas, while still pleasing the audience.

Now pleasing the audience isn't everything, it's good to know what tools you can use to enhance your music abilities. It's not like it's a handicap.

However, I do agree that some of music theory is superfluos. This doesn't mean that all of it is.

Listening to music is a way to pick up on these guidlines. Just like by become an avid reader one picks up a stronger vocabulary, and a better sense of rules. So listening to music does teach the listener something, no matter what they think of music theory.

100 Canadian isn't that bad compared to the 200 plus that I saw on Amazon a while back. Considering it was originally 40 when the collection came out, though...Ah well...I still have a couple of them on floppy disks.

I don't actually blow most of my cash on one thing. It's the small things that add up. Like going out to eat or the movies. Once a week isn't so bad, but if I go out for more than that, it drains my money supply, and I'm trying to save some of it.

This was a fun trip, and I hope you guys enjoy our free entertainment.

I think I'd beat Grundi in a fight. I'd let out a stream of puns until he couldn't take it anymore and then he'll explode.

I was just trying to get a point across to you. You're trying to sell your game, don't lose potential people who want to play this game by doing a stupid thing and making fun of what they themselves utilize (because for the most part, AGSers will be your main source of traffic). To each his own, and your entitled to your oppinion, but I was just trying to help you out down the road.

Like I said earlier, though. You're graphics are great, keep up the work. I will play this game if you complete it. And remember, have fun! These games are as much for yourself as for the people you are trying to entertain.

Music theory gives someone tools in which they can draw their creativity. I'd agree that it isn't needed, but I think it can help a composer. It's like writing a book, it's good to know all the grammatical rules. Does this mean that a grammatically incorrect author can not have a succesful book? No, it just is a tool that helps structure thier work.

Most of the people here aren't into the habit of taking other people company names away. Just suggest something to us, and as long as you make something and give it to us in a short period, no one should steal it.

You should try to make your company name have something to do with you. Whether that be your name, an activity you like doing, whatever! Hope you think of something.

Just make sure not to get too engrossed in it, when in computer class. I was in an computer literacy class that everyone is reuired to take, and so it was really boring because I knew most of the material. So during recetation I would just go here, however, keeping an eye out for the teacher and what the class was doing. That way when he walked to the back of the class to see what everyone was doing, I minimized this, maximized that, and was never outed.

ehem quotes from your website...

QuoteFirst, there's no idiotic Paintbrush room graphics there. All rooms are 3D modelled and rendered as 2D-pics. Characters are drawn ones, and animated then. My animation skills are quite low, I must say, but good is that animation *DOES* exist. And -- looks quite realistic, too. At least when if you compare it with various other AGS-fan-made games. But you have chance to check graphics out by yourself when looking at the screenshots.

I didn't realise that 3d modeled animations were so much more intelligent that paintbrushed rooms. If you compare yourself to the bad graphical games, why not compare yourself to the great graphical games.

QuoteThird -- No MIDI bullshit pinging in the background, I took some time and composed some nice XM tracks to give game some ambience. But you can always rate em' by yourself.

MIDI isn't bullshit.

Now everyone's entitled to their oppinions, and here is mine: I like your screenshots, it looks like you'll be making a good game. However, I wouldn't play it, if I saw that offensive drivel on your webpage. Most of the people donwloading your game, appreciate MIDI, and appreciate low-res graphics. Just stay neutral, and don't try to offend anyone. I won't play a game, simply on a matter of principle, until that is changed.

But it does look good, so keep up the goods graphic work. Do the best you can do. And do what you think is best for your game. and goodluck!

This is why one of the biggest rules of dating is never date your boss. It just leads to trouble. Same with co-workers, because if you get into a fight, you still have to work with each other. It's just not a good idea.

Other than that. I'd just suggest you get another job somewhere else, as has already been mentioned. This girl should do the same. Or just slap the guy with a sexual harrasment suit.

The reason one might release this games is because they might not be free to work on them until free time comes. Yes, it does take longer than a couple of weeks to make a game. But people aren't going ot finish a game when their too busy. They'll do it during those free weeks/days/months.
