True, I suppose some do polish them up. Maybe just Sox and I are in the minority of terrible devs who leave our games as they were on MAGS release unless we need to fix a game breaking bug. Lazy, lazy devs, we are.

In which case MAGS award for fun and no other reason if people really do work on them that much after the initial release.
This is a good point, Myinah, Selmiak, perhaps to qualify one has to have the original version in the database as '[MAGS]Game Name Here'  subsequent versions would have to be separate and drop the [MAGS] tag. From what I know this is sorta how many already do it. An honour system really.

I would also like to see a category for the short games from the contests (MAGS, OROW, etc), a sort of MAGS-Uber-Winner.

For MAGS there is usually MAGGIES, which is basically what you want: voting for the MAGS-Uber-Winner of the year *nudges Stupot*
For OROW there was a voting over all entries - I don't see the need to make an additional category.
OK, so I looked into Maggies (didn't know about this one) and it's been dormant for three years now!
So I'm proposing to incorporate it into AGSawards, and as well as to lump all the short-timeline-contest into one award for the year. Thoughts ???

^^ has this been done or discussed before? ^^

I agree that there should be some separation between Free and Commercial game awards, Best Freeware AGS Game and AGS Game of the Year. Its a little more healthy, IMHO.

 8-0 How exciting!
So would the first competitions take place in a week per comp. then followed up by a month long MAGS?
ie:
week #1 writing
week #2 background blitz
week #3 sprite jam
week #4 colouring ball & tune contest
week #5-8 MAGS utilizing the above

I'm pretty sucked into StarCitizen right now. They just released the 2.0 version and despite the agony (it's still not a complete game yet, and I am loving the early alpha access stuff) of trying over and over to get on and not have the game crash its AWESOME.
With all the Brits on this forum, I'm surprised not to hear much buzz about this one? Anyone else into this? Maybe we should form a nice little AGS Pirate Organization??

No no, move works fine on objects.

But wait a couple days, going to release a more playable and gooder version.

Great podcast, I also think the Double Fine documentary is good and am looking foreword to Shardlight (no doubt the work of an embarrassed crocodile!)

Go into the events pane for character 2, activate 'use inventory on character' then go to the manual and look up character.AddInventory()

Sorry you didn't get to enjoy my game, Cassiebsg... You probably wouldn't have made it much further anyway, because the answer to the puzzle that stumped you was:

Sorry, just frustrating when you can't seem to get a message through to the player  :-[ your not the only one who didn't like the blocking animations.. they're gone in the version I'll release in a couple days...

Cassiebsg is right. They're great tutorials but mostly for reference, he does a good job of bridging the gaps after you've looked over the manual. Those videos are a few years old now, for the most part they're on spot but a few bits are outdated now.  :) (maybe grab some Reality On The Norm assets?)

For those of us who know no greek... which segment are you featured in (I was hoping you were coding in those ancient hillside stone buildings, but  :-\ disappointment....)
