Can't find any dump files, I will pay attention to what I'm doing going foreword. Most crashes occurred after running for a couple hours, attempting to open another room while one is still open (you get the 'do you want to close this room' message) then it encounters the error. I can still save, and nothing gets lost??

I haven t seen milk in a bag since I was a kid... then again I personally just milk the moose tied up outside my igloo.

My experience has been identical to cat s .. when i get home i'll look for crash dumps and contact you. no prob if you want my project.

I don't know if this topic is dead, but I just got the chance to read it. I just finished(well sorta finished) a game where I had to several times iterate through characters and objects, Crankosaur, to sometimes apply stuff that was not in the editor plane or just redundant and time consuming for 25 characters.
@Ryan, I know you don't want to abolish the ID #'s (character[ID] etc ), but not having them visible in the editor would be a nightmare! For example if you use folders, like I did, and go back up into the middle of the tree and add 13 characters to a folder these get assigned a sequential ID. Now how do I figure out if its Character[17] to Character[29] I want to suddenly move baselines on or Character[7] to Character[19], as it would seem if expand all the trees and start counting, without the ID's being visible. And as a newb protection, does not AGS adjust the visible numbering of all the Characters when you delete Character[2] or whatever, you could discover how you broke your game pretty quickly IMO by looking.
Just my thoughts.

Built my MAGS game with 3.3.01, had crashes similar to what Cat described. It had to do with switching between rooms, very sporadic and couldn't pinpoint it (mostly after a long stretch of work though). I began to think I had some bad memory issues on my old computer, so I didn't post.

Hi! I'm fairly new here. Joined the forums last summer when I started to create an adventure game with my son. Still working on that game, and learning as I go. Has been fun and the community has been great! I've been attempting to make games since I was a kid with my brother on our old 386pc, my username comes from the hero of an unfinished game from that time (want to revive it someday when my skills are more honed).

Recently I entered the June MAGS contest. Wow, now that was a learning experience! Came up with all these ideas and unconventional game play, what a mistake! But I got it done, unpolished but done, would like to make it more enjoyable after voting is closed. I think it's fairly fun for a first release, give it a shot (prepare to click around a bit to figure out how it works, attack lots.)

Thanks for reading, back to some more AGS tinkering for me...

I figured it out and reloaded the source-file, thanks man :) I really wish I had allowed enough time for some really good play-testing, I hope you continue playing the game :( it was alot of work for a newbee,
you should be able to complete no problem if :

Edit: Just finished your game Soxbrooker, loved the clean hand drawn look and the sound as well!

Ok, reloaded the file.
Some rooms were broken (changeroom scripts with errors). I did add music and fix some spelling mistakes, sorry. Started this before I realized the game was unfinishable, shouldn't be anything large enough to cause alarm.

What's the opinion on some minor bug fixes? or is it as is?
If not able to re-upload, I recommend you save often.. ran out of time for much play testing.

Nicely done!
Great artwork, fun minigame..
#633
Thanks, finally figured it out...

Crankosaurus Prime and the Blue Crystal Pursuit.
Smash, push, roar or whatever it takes to get the crystals back you, the recently revived dinosaur, have been entrusted to protect.

MAGS June 2013 entry, a little clunky. Please let me know if you think it has potential, would like to complete and polish if people find it fun.
Thanks!

I'm really not sure why being able to access the "Object" ID was ever implemented in AGS. Likely due to the limitations of AGS script and then trying to stick with the whole backwards compatibility - which in my opinion is only hindering all radical improvements of the editor.
I've used the object[ID] to apply settings to a large number of objects etc during runtime, kind of like Billbis is describing. Not so handy with script names, unless I am overlooking a method.

Inherit the Earth and Eco Quest tried to have messages but kinda more childish .. Maybe theyre the Alladan of adventure games .. should nt post when tired

Thanks Crimson, thought I had a major MAGS setback on my hands :)

No this is crazy.. I am using v3.3
I have 7 characters 0 - 6
I set char 5 as player, game starts with char 3
and
0 = 4
1 = 5
2 = 6
3 = 1
4 = 2
5 = 3
6 = 0

I also moved the characters around in the tree into new folders when I was *organizing* my characters

so now they are ordered
4
5
6
1
2
3
0

I think I see a pattern....
EDIT: Okay, so I moved the folders up and down so the characters are now in numerical order. All is normal again.
        Should i post this in the Version 3.3.0 thread? or is this ?normalish? behavior  ???
