There's something I've noticed on most front walkcycles: the character often walks like a clown: his knees movement look a bit exaggerated. It looks like he's throwing his legs far in front of him, like he's parading. Then again, it's like that on many walkcycles I've seen. I don't know what's to blame for that. Maybe there is a reference walkcycle that is used by everybody and causes chaos for the last 10 years?

Hi everybody!

Take a good look at that logo :
[imgzoom]http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/6941/croppedt.png[/imgzoom]

It's a perfectly fine logo.
Yet, it's missing something to make it stand out. It looks a bit dull. I can't quite put my finger on it: is it the reflection effect that looks too artificial? Is it the contrast? I don't know.
Any advice to make it look really cool and catchy without changing the concept of it is welcome.

I just read this "making of" FoA: http://newsradiofanfic.angelfire.com/Making_Fate.html

Here is an excerpt :
QuoteGeorge has established a criterion for Indiana Jones adventures, and it's basically that he should only find things that actually existedâ€"or at least could have existed.

Isn't it amazingly ironic and funny with regard to the finale of Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls?

DID YOU KNOW: If you remove just two letters in the first word of this thread's title, it gives you "Wham". :D

It's funny because my dad watched that episode, didn't say a word during the whole episode, except ONE word during the scene with the two girls: "gratuitous!".
The title of this thread proves he wasn't the only one to experience that feeling :)

I've put together the first part of a tutorial showing the process!

That's really really really great.
It's much harder to find on the Internet than you might think. Apparently it's used mostly by professionals, who don't need to make tutorials.

Hurray!

How's this?

If the light really comes from the yellow part, then the weird X-shaped structures that support that "window" should be much darker (since they block the light) and the side walls should be much brighter.
Overall I'd recommend thinking carefully to the location of the light source, and then increase the contrast a lot everywhere it's needed.

Here we go again. :D
We have so many code geniuses developing AGS. If only they'd get started, it would be done in a month I'm sure!  :P

Hello dears, this is Selmiak's mom, I'm looking for him, he didn't pick up my calls.
Selmiak, you need to come home and do your homework. ^_^

There is not much difference between number 2 and number 3, but it depends if you want to be subtle or obvious.

Also number one could look more "happy": you could make the eyes "smile" much more:

here are some pictures of a monkey island game I want to do the graphics similar

I didn't understand: did you make those graphics yourself?
In any case, please read the sticky post of the "Critics Lounge" subforum: you'll find all the graphics software you need to draw pixel-art. Photoshop is not the best tool for that (it's mostly designed for hi-resolution pictures).

Just out of curiosity, what this module is supposed to do? Is this about drawing digits with lines, or displaying digits with sprites, or?

That's why I'm looking for it. I can't remember how it worked internally.
Bah, nobody seems to remember it. I'll code something quick myself -- if needed.

The drawing technique is very good. Overall the drawing looks good and pretty and arty and skilled.

BUT the face's shape is not very photo-realistic:
- why is the skin so shiny?
- the cheeks are so round and seem totally separated from the face. Maybe they could be flatter, and joined better to the jaw.
- the eyes could have more depth (if the forehead is a real orc's forehead, the eyes are way deep below)
Overall, I'd say the face could be more angular, and have more ripples and scars and moles, etc.

Does this, in a way or another, also handle the proofreading of the Strings in the native language? (e.g. English).
#2458
WOW! How did I miss that?!?
That's amazing-looking, Ali. And knowing you, it will be amazing-playing too! ;)
You've GOT to finish that game! Soon! Like, right now!

That's a neat little piece of code! :D
I got so gutted after I discovered that integer-computing wasn't optimizing anything that I completely forgot about this :D

But PLEASE give a way to change the keys assignment, hehe.

They made it so the awards are only shown on the one person that made the game page that won the awards.

OK! False alarm, then.
