looking great, man. and sounds like a really interesting story.
how far are you with the game's progress?
#962
uh, yeah? is a diner some sort of american restaurant?

looks really interesting. i would really like to play it, but if ure gonna make it commercial, i think u'll have to do some nice cool high quality portraits of the chars. for when you talk to them. which will show maybe some emotion. especially since this game will have a lot to do with characters moods.
good luck.

yay! clouds back. i love the clouds.

It can be a short story with 10 lines, it can be a whooper with 20 pages.

are u using secret of mana's characters as reference? looks very similar. especially the faces. and stances.
nice looking demo. just too many pinks and purples. haha.  ;)
the trees' perspective looks a bit off from the rest of the bg. it looks like we are looking at the leaves from below/side, rather than from above.
good job so far.

great looking backgrounds. and nice modelling on the characters. although, i think joe needs a bit more work in the dialogue pic.

anyway, good luck with your commercial project. im sure it will do good. i read about u guys in the inventory.  ;) although, i havent played any of ure remakes. not much of a sierra fan.

this looks really interesting. i like the blood effects.  ;D
#972
hehe, me too.  ;)

looks cool,
i just wonder if the people of the multimedia school wants to see what you can do, or the people on the forums.  ;D

great game, progzmax. i LOVE the graphics and the animation, although, i really dont like the gameplay and gui. its kinda distracting me from the story and getting immersed into the game.  everything seems a bit slow and i feel like the game is controlling me, rather me controlling the game.  :)
i know a few have mentioned this, but that cutscene u cant skip is not cool.
its just too slow, and it makes me not wanna play it anymore. im currently stuck there, but ill try finish it anyway. (after looking at hints and tips, since im not going the trial and error route  ;D, i have other things to do.)

good work.

I'm glad you didnt take it the wrong way.Ã,  :) I'm really looking forward to ure game, and cant wait to play.

yeah, 2 people worked on the game for a year and a half, then signed with warner, and got some help, like one guy converted the game to pc.

but the graphics, animation programming and design of the game was all done by the original 2 members (john and steve), as far as i know.
of course, they got help with voice acting, and quality assurance and stuff like that.Ã,  :)

...produce something at a proffessional standard. Also, to prove that adventure games DO NOT cost big money to make, if four guys can make one in their spare time..
i aggree that apprentice has already proven this.
but if you look at a game like flight of the amazon queen, it was basically made by 2 people.
one guy co-designed, and wrote the whole engine (which none if you are actually doing, since ure using ags), while the other guy co-designed, did ALL the graphics and the animation, and even helped with some scripting and sound. and the game is really big.
and awesome. but ure game looks great so far, keep up the good work. i dont hope you guys take this the wrong way, im not trying to be rude, just pointing out some facts.

Well that's an interesting attitude. I hope you're not serious

lots of interesting attitudes around here, i was just trying to blend in.
thx for the vote of confidence, kinoko. hehe.

dont listen to the people here, txarly. theyre just trying to sound clever. its really great. i wish i could do something like that in 3d.

if u really want some good advice on how to improve ure backgrounds, i would advise going to places like www.cgtalk.com. seriously, there the people's crits actually make sense. and theyre much nicer. good advice around here is very rare.  ;)
#979
looks nice.Ã,  ;) good job on the backgrounds. although, it looks a bit dead, but i dont know if thats what ure going for. I'm just saying that cause I'm playing flight of the amazon queen at the moment, and love the way they play around with colours to liven things up. so, if you really want to show that people here can make pro games, like you said you wanted to show, maybe study some of the pro games' bgs a bit more. but, great job so far.
the task bar shouldn't appear when you click right mouse button on open space and not hotspot.

yeah, since a lot of people said its their favourite game, I'm going to download it now too.Ã,  ;D
EDIT: hmm, i was really disappointed.Ã,  :-\
