Yah I like it a lot, I may just go ahead and do something similar.

Looks great but the side toward the back of the cabinet shouldn't rise like it does.  Makes it look kinda weird.  Desk seems bare, unless you want it to be an empty/new office or something.  Great job, and it's awesome that you're doing your own artwork.

Cleaning my room would be silly, it's the girlfriend's job. :)

When I first showed up, I posted a WHOOOOOoooollllleeee bunch!  Lots of posts, in a short period of time.  Then I got tired of that and became a lurker for a few years. :)  Now I'm not lurking anymore...wee!

Never tried Cubase, I shall have to give it a go someday. :) No latency would be excellent.

Yep, references are the best, a tree you can easily look outside, or just use Google Image Search, I use that A LOT.

I second google image search.  whenever I'm stuck with anything, I look at refs on google image.

Oh no offense taken :)

Yup a bus works too.  In samplitude and some other software it has a realtime sort of "ghost" of itself where you can alter the reverberated track and keep the source in there untouched as well.  Then you can just easily move a couple of sliders to change how much of the source you want, and how much of the reverb.  It's pretty sweet I think, and you can do this with other plugins and things too.

I hate latency.  When I record there's always latency, even on my very advanced machine - I either will get dropouts or I will have some degree of latency.  Seems unavoidable.  Never heard of convolution reverb.....I just checked it out, and now I have! :) Seems awesome.  Apparently you can get it for free so I'm going to try it out.

Looks great. I'm in love with those doors!! I'm just glad they're not the typical door you always see.  Nice color and the gray borders are fantastic.

As victor noted, it's quite empty.  Perhaps a couch so that those watching TV don't have to stand or sit on the floor?

The lamp seems pretty cool, but underneath it there is no light.  I mean, where's the bulb?  To me it seems like your lamp's bottom has a cover on it and the light beam is magically coming out of nowhere.

So I'm putting together this record, and just figured I'd share it with everyone here.  I'd love to hear thoughts, especially from those who listen to this type of music, but if you don't that's cool too.

The timing is off in several spots, please forgive it - this is just a raw demo that I kind of did on the spur of the moment so there's no tick track or any sort of metronome.

One more thing, it's a fourteen minute track so if you don't have time now, maybe come back later when you do.  I don't think it's long, but some people do so I just figured a quick warning was in order.

Anyway enough talking:

Hehe of course I don't think pianos sound like that, it was an experimental thing to try.  Either way, it didn't work out so great and that's ok.  Onto new things :)

You're right, I thought tile-scrolling meant that the screen doesn't actually scroll but the tiles are replaced column by column.

Btw, real-time strategy can be done using AGS, there was a Cannon Fodder clone in Production (by foz) once, but sadly he didn't finish it.

Oh.  Well the screen never really scrolls as it appears to, it's just an illusion.

Hey there. I'm pretty new to doing this sort of background stuff too, but maybe a little shape defining would help?  Put in more shadow, just make some decision as to which trees are visible and which are not I guess.  Right now, it looks almost like a gaseous cloud the way so much yellow sort of hangs around on the top.

Not the greatest attempt in the world, but maybe you'll get an idea from this:

Actually it has much more than that.  There's dry, wet, reflection distance, early reflection, late reflection, padding, you can cut frequencies or boost them - in fact there's even a map that you can edit that in interactively, zoom in, zoom out, everything.   On top of that, there is a simple low/hi response and original signal/modified signal output.  Plus there is final signal output.  There's a lot more that goes into a modeled reverb than you might think.

I think the problem is that I'm not familiar with jazz and I usually mix rock/metal/classic rock music, etc.  Jazz piano sounded boring to me, so I remixed it.  And for the record of the people who have heard, nobody else has had any problems with it.

The only way to accomplish that would be to make a separate layer of the track, add reverb to it, and keep the other track in its original condition.  That would probably sound better, but to me it would sound...unreal too.

Yah omitting the manuals, etc, all an effort to keep it cheap.  I for one have all these games already with everything backed up on a DVD.  The only thing that would ever compel me to purchase a new collection is if they improved them somehow.

well they probably want to identify the butcher so he can confirm whether or not he employed them go shoot his cows (you'd have to be pretty dumb yourself to have not worked that out  ;))

I know that. The article made it sound like they were the butcher's cows, and so it wouldn't be illegal for him to have them killed.

Even still I'm pretty sure without notifying someone it would be illegal.  What if they shot some kids playing in a field on accident?  or themselves...oh wait, right.  They don't exactly allow random people here to go hunt down deer or anything without some kind of permit for that very reason.

Wow.  Maybe they should all get together and play lazer tag with bullets and rid us of their stupidity. :/  I mean...WTF??
#299
I still have the first one.  I didn't play Noir or part 2, but I can say that I also felt like it was too slow.  Not bad though, and very funny.

Hrm I'm no expert but isn't that just dithering? You can do it by hand or in a number of other ways, but like I say I don't know...i've never done any of that.
