Heh, I don't even really have facial hair that grows that fast...it's just that I'm LAZY.  Yes, I have things to do which require sitting around, drinkin' rootbeers & eating cheetos crunch snacks till the wife knocks me off my chair #&*!@! ^^ hee hee!

Wow don't rush, you have plenty of time.  I spend more time posting art than music but I am ten years more adept at music.  Much unlike art, heh heh.  ^^

Here's more scenery:

Japan photo 1
Japan photo 2

These photos will give you an idea. Not much there, and really only vegetationish stuff.  There's so much more to be found, use google & you can't go wrong.

Well this background is pretty much done right now, so I'm gonna move onto another one & come back to it when my skills have improved.  :)

Ciro: I never thanked you for that explanation. While I already knew about the color values, the averaging of them was new information.

Eric:  About the colors being different, I know the new wood is darker but you made it look so good I had to try and achieve that. ^^

Wow cool :) I can't wait to try it out & see how you did it.  I think open source is awesome & I'm making everything I do open-source.  In the end, I hope there will be an open-source scripting/etc database.  The same could be said for art & all the tutorials..I just think it's a good idea.

Thanks custard, I really didn't know what I was doing for the first fifteen attempts or so.  I have this tendency to play things too fast, and my music reflects that I think.  I'm glad you liked it, maybe I'll have to expand on it more & see where it goes.

I really liked it too.  I started coloring it but got sidetracked...think I have it in my art folder saved, I'll finish it in a couple days probably.  You really should make full comics, if you don't already.

Heh.  Yah I also forget to eat, forget lots of things actually.  In 2 days flat, I need to shave like mad.  It really irritates my face, I can't stand it! Ok, I'm gonna go shave now so that the agony of prickiness will cease!! ^^

Ok here's my tune, called SilentEye & I came up with it in a matter of minutes & recorded it in the same.  So, it probably could use some work but I just want to see what people think.  ^^

SilentEye in mp3

Note: If you can't hear it or have troubles downloading it, check your connections & if it's a problem with Omni(probably is), then I'll switch to Apache 2 & it'll be all better. :) Let me know though k?

Hehe, to quote Sandler some: I think they're excellent finger paintin's :)

If I do anything off the computer it's sketch.  All I have are my drawing pencils & my book: Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain...which ain't too bad, but I think I need some others soon.  Then, I paint it all in photoshop.

I agree about the wheels & that it lacks detail now.  I didn't see that when I was messing around with it...it's hard to see where I go with things till I'm already there.  That's my amateurishness showing ^^

Do you ever do that? Man I've been sitting around here for days on end working on things, being busy chasing my kid around, eating grub & just overall doing nothing productive...and it grows and grows...I forget.  I get up, shower..look in the mirror & just kinda shrug it off...like, ah, I have things to do.  Heh, sorry bizarre topic here, don't mind I.

Well to start, it's not finished yo. :) But anyway THIS background isn't for me, so I don't exactly know what's going on with the characters yadda yadda.  In another thread, you will see that we're working on getting my technique refined(or put another way...teaching me how to make better art).  So there you go.

For Boyd, I'm not sure what I can do cuz other people can see em but you can't.  Also, Remixor said he couldn't hear my mp3's...that they were empty(which is a travesty!).  What OS/Browser are you using?

EDIT:  Oh yah and don't forgets I've been drawing for what, two weeks?  Heh, so don't just say it's oily dude! - say, hey dude try doing it this way instead[...point to tutorial].  That'd be helpful! ^^

Heya, yah now that I'm comparing them I see what's different.  T-shirt colors, I liked the darker colors.  The hair, I liked the spikier hair & colors.  His eyes now seem empty...where are the eyes?  I like that he has a mouth now though cuz it's hard to talk without one, or so I've heard.

Last thing, the ears seem lower now to me.  Overall he looks better with the higher quality, I definetly agree with that.

Oh yah 800x600 will be crazy slow, at least for me 640x480 is even slow.  I dunno if the author will ever make his engine open source but I'm sure you have to optimize that to get it any faster.  So you're outta luck for now.

EDIT: Oh and not sure how much DirectX is used in his engine that'd be helpful...maybe OpenGL, something like that could get you into 800x600.

Hm, I thought the 13 guy looked better before, just my opinion.  I do like it though, and overall I'd say you have the nicest graphics of any upcoming game I know of.  They're just cool looking, it's hard to say why.

Well, that's interesting but I don't quite understand how exactly you average pixels.  I'm sure I will just make do by learning as I go along.

Pretty good eye you've got.  I'll have to fix that up in the next day or so.  And yes you're right, I did blow it up.  Now about the car, I didn't know what the car would look like, given that it's not American so I just traced one.  I dunno if that's a sin or not, but it seemed pretty easy & maybe I'll just have to dull the car's colors down.

Update:
I've added an updated image.  Hopefully it's a little more refined this time.  I think it's pretty good now.
#578
Ok so I did this not for me, but for a friend of mine that is building a new game.  Anyway since I have my own things to do, I didn't get much done with it.  The car is pretty much done I guess, unless I can think of anything to add.  Maybe I could clean up the words on the hood but we're not really sure what it's gonna say yet.

The far right is ugly, yah the smudged blackness.  I'll probably redraw the yellow lines brighter....but that'd be about right if you visited where I live...they're badly faded all over town.  :)

EDIT: Ok so after looking at it again, I think I want to add lights to the wood beams above the entrance. I know it doesn't look like much of an entrance & I'll fix it up more.  But, how do I determine where the light will hit?  Any tutorials on light? Sounds strange maybe, but that'd be helpful.

Scanned some pics of the walls in my room & used the droplet tool to grab the colors.  Then, I smudged it in the direction it was supposed to go...mostly anyway.  As you could tell from the first edit you did of the wall, it was not very defined.  I really like what you did with it.  :) I've never painted anything before this, just to let you know.

EDIT: Oh yah and your beam is making me seriously jealous over here! My beam is laughable, and my kid could probably do better.
