General Discussion / Hello, once again.

Hey guys.

I'm glad to say that, after a long absence, I'm back in action. My modem has been out for almost five months to date, and I haven't had the initiative to buy a new one until now.

In other news, Retrovertigo has been put on the shelf, probably permanently. The project took a severe knock, due to the hectic workload under which I've been flailing, recently. I have pending plans to create a much shorter, much less pretty game sometime in the (hopefully) not too distant future.

Until soon, though...
Adieu!

Hi.

Before I begin to speak about my forthcoming game, let me introduce myself.

My name is Ben. I live right on the bottom tip of Africa, on the KwaZulu Natal coastline, near Durban. I came across AGS entirely by accident one day, and decided to check it out, since The Curse Of Monkey Island (along with the others in the series) ranks as one of my favourite games of all time.

So, having now played through both Larry Vales games, 5 Days A Stranger, 7 Days A Skeptic, Pleurghburg and the entire Reality-On-The-Norm series, to name a few, I decided to take it upon myself to create something for the community.

I'm going to plug this game now.

The graphics will be something to write home about... Hey, I don't need humility on my side - I'm a graphic designer! You play the cynical character, Allan Davies, and control him on his walkabouts around London. Essentially, this game will be a thriller, filled with black comedy. I won't give away any of the plot as yet; but rather, I'll give you a slight teaser - a screenshot from the first room from the game. Everything, from the iconbar to the inventory, will contain no sample graphics or animations. unfortunately, when the game is finished, I may not be able to upload it for quite some time, since I'm on a 28k connection line in this telecomm-backwardian country. The CD-ROM version will have a killer soundtrack too - as long as I can get the appropriate licencing - so it'll serve as a means of exposure for some of South Africa's best hardcore, metal, punk and alternative bands around.

So, here's the teaser (if it doesn't work, there could be a problem with the DeviantArt server):

Cheers.
