Spoiler
When climbing the mountain path, and youve just got past the stream falling down the mountain, how do you turn the corner without falling off ?! I seriously must of tried 11 times, and no matter where i point to walk behind the mountain i fall off - well you see half of yourself fall and the other half being invisible due to wrong walk behind areas....
[close]
at first I thought you meant the mountain path leading down from Mannanans house .. please be a bit more specific next time

don't go around it, try climbing up the waterfall  ;)

@Mordalles:
Yes, you have to store your things with the blue arrow, not with the hand (I think if you have nothing under your bed and click the hand on it you store everything, also non magical things there, atleast this happened for me once).

@pattica: Sorry, but what exactly is your problem?

Where's the stone? I assume it's just on the ground on some screen. What screen is it on? It's for the teleport spell.
The oracle (who lives behind the spiderweb) gives it to you. You don't need it to finish the game.

I did need it. How else am I going to escape from the shark? (aside from the fact that this was hard enough for me ;) )

Oh and the shovel is for treasure digging, which near as I can tell is a pixel hunt (after you've been told where the treasure is, of course).

Well, no one told me about any treasure.

Also, I have not met any cook (although I was in the kitchen, but it was empty)

How many times am I suppose to wait until I hear someone shouting?

20 minutes or 30 mintues?

The time is 1:38 when I last played the game.

well, I think I had to wait for about 10 or 15 minutes ... maybe you first have to complete other actions on the ship ... have you got your possessions back and did you look into every room? (I think there are two or three rooms that you really can't do anything in, but you can have a look...)
Edit: And I think you have to wait in the cargo.

Hey, I also have the porridge laced with "cat spell". Mananan went on a journey for the second time. Any idea how long his second journey is? I'm tired of waiting for him to ask for food.

Spoiler
it is not on the ground (but I also thought that at first and touched every stone on every screen ...) someone will give it to you ... ever wondered what is inside the cave with the web?
[close]

about the journey: I don't know whether there's a rule about how long Mannannan stays away, but in my case it took 20 or 30 minutes I think. It would make sense to have a rule here, because then you could look at your timer and try to be back before Manannan returns from a journey. The good thing is that you don't even have to wait in front of the computer, as you will hear when he returnsÃ,  ;)
I also have no idea, how many times Manannan goes on a Journey. For me there were only two Journeys, and one sleep in between, but after a sleep he isn't hungry so I was waiting quite some time until he was hungry again ..

I also had something buggy with the second journey. He returned, asked for food, I went to the kitchen, he was sitting there. Then he disappeared from the table and reappeared at the left screen exit, again asking for food. He disappeared and didn't appear at the table. Only when I left the room and returned, he was sitting there again (luckily ...) So don't be surprised if that happens.

yes, I finally made it out of the sea (somehow my problems always solve themselves the minute after I post them)
for everyone else encountering the swimming problem I described above:
Spoiler
The stone teleports you RANDOMLY, so try until you "randomly" are teleported to the beach in the same screen that has the ship and shark in it. at least it worked for me - I had the walk cycle then again
[close]

and against all my good intentions I just finished the game ... but I will play again, when the voice pack is out, of course. I also just got about 190 points, and I still don't know what to do with the shovel, the fly wings, the sleeping spell ... (and probably some other things as well ...) so I just have to try a bit, I guess

I was a bit disappointed the game was so short, but I guess that all these early games weren't much longer. Unfortunately I never played the originals, but AGDIs KQ1 was not very long either. The oldest original KQ I played was number 5 and this was already a bit longer ...

so, apart from the non-walkable-area bugs and some other things I enjoyed it :) (what about opening a thread just for funny screenshots from this game? ;) after all, we won't see them anymore should a new version be released)
It's always a bit sad to see how fast you can play through a game that took months and years to be made ...

à can't find the little feather to complete one of the spells.
Can anyone tell me where to find this little feather ???

I continued the game without the spell with the little feather and are now standing before the locked gate of a big castle witch i cannnot open. Is this because of the missing spell?
If yes i have to restart the game after killing Mannanan :-[

Thanks Ã, in advance.

the feather is needed for the language spell, isn't it? I am not sure (didn't pplay the original) but it could be that you can survive without having it ... only you will then miss some nice conversations ... but you could have got it from an animal that has feathers (and there were some around your house ;) )

@AGS user (and everybody else):
I now managed to leave the sea but then I have to face this kind of problem

Spoiler
I also tried flying away, but after landing I have the swimming animation again

and shortly after:

Can anybody of those who are already past the escaping from sea point tell me how to deal with this situation? For the moment of teleporting, I have the normal standing walkcycle, but then it changes to this stupid swimming thing ...
I managed to ignore the bugs in the game until now, but this is now really destroying the funÃ,  >:(

I am on the pirate ship. I already have my stuff back and a shovel and right now I don't know what I am suppose to do. In a old walkthrough I found for KQ3 EGA I am suppose to stay in cabin and wait until the pirates has reached the land. Well I have waited and waited and waited...and waited. Still nothing happens. So what am I suppose to do then to escape from the pirate ship?

Spoiler
yes, you have to wait ... and when someone shouts, you should go up ... but how you ultimately reach land, I haven't figured out yet .. just notice that Alexander obviously can swim better in KQ3 than in KQ6 ;)

I think you can just delete the savegames in the game directory (or better copy them to another directory in case you want to use them again ...)

my problem:
Where the hell is that stupid wand??? I thought it was with manannan when he was sleeping (that's how it was in KQ5, wasn't it?) but it is not ... I have all ingredients for the understanding the animal language and some other spell and now I only need that wand, I guess ...

ThanksÃ,  :)

edit: nevermind, I got it ..
and now I have almost every spell except for the teleportation and am wondering when Manannan will wake up and be hungry ...Ã,  ::)
but if I do wake him up and wonder around a bit he sometimes appears and kills me, although I am not carrying anything red or even blue, seems like a dead end of some sort .. did anyone else experience this?

And how do I get him to be hungry again?
(When I go to town and stay too long he also kills me, but when I'm in the house he just won't wake up)

Ok, I downloaded it yesterday and also started playing it because I have been waiting for the game for quite a few months ...
There are, however, several bugs. I didn't read the whole thread now, so I don't know which were mentioned, nevertheless I'll mention all those I've found so far.

Spoiler

-when using the magic map to go to the oak tree, you land on a non-walkable area
-one screen south of the oak tree, go to the right (eastern) bottom corner of the screen and try to go down => you will land on a non-walkable area in the next screen
-when the bears arrive or go, mama bear does a strange animation ...
-when you are caught by the thieves one screen south of where the mountain path starts and you walk north to the mountain path, the thieves will follow you up, but they won't catch you. instead their heads appear on the bottom of the screen and will stay there. if you go down, you are caught

but apart from these I really enjoy the game :) I was not patient enough to wait for the voice pack, but I hope that you are one of the few adventure game groups who actually know what dates like "next week" MEAN ... I am leaving my country next saturday and have to survive without (my own) computer for about 5 weeks, so I have no chance of finishing the game before but I would love to hear a bit of the voice pack before ... thanks :)

I also enjoy these little things like
Spoiler
the tapestry thing, the old man in the shop ("haven't seen the last of him") and the "type in the third word" thing :D

There is not much new I could tell you at the moment, but the posts made in april (I somehow didn't get email notifications for them, although I enabled that) remembered me that I maybe should post an update.

Sometime earlier this year I finished the second chapter and now I am working at the third one. Four backgrounds and some of the scripting are done, the next thing I should focus on are the characters of the third chapter.
This is something I don't like that much, especially if animation is involved, but it has to be done and so I try my best.
There are supposed to be some poeple standing on and walking across a town square, so that the town itself looks a bit more lively. If you are interested in making such an animation (or any other animation for that matter), please write me a pm :) I'd be more than grateful.

Music for the first and second chapter is not finished yet, but Aleksander Mosingiewicz is working at it. He composed 5 tunes that are already in the game.

Thanks for your interest in "Night of Fire"Ã,  :)

Edit: My old webspace turned out to be rather unreliable and now they wanted to be paid for external linking. This is why you couldn't see the screenshots. Now I put them on photobucket until I find a better webspace. Nevertheless, please tell me if you are unable to see them.

Anyway! Back to the topic, I'm stuck!

Spoiler
I've gotten the password, and I've noticed that the first letters of each new sentence spell out the hidden message " get the rope ". Now, how do I make Natalia realise that? Or am I suppose to just get the rope? If so, what rope? Is it referring to the nylon cord at the curtain?
[close]

that should be in "hints and tips" but ...
yes (to your last question) ... do you already have the knife?

Edit: (ontopic) Besides AGDIs KQ remakes, which introduced me to AGS, Other Worlds was the first AGS game I played and completely convinced me, that this is a community I have to stay in touch with, so as not to miss such good freeware games  :)

I'm a bit late, already finished it a week ago, but I also loved it :)
Although I think that the Japanese people look a bit too European (eg Mr. Shinobi and the show master)
The quality of the art and also of the music is very high :) But my fav one is still part 3, maybe because Scotland is a bit more fascinating to me than Japan ... who knows ... anyway, I am already looking forward to the 6th part.

Also I wonder whether Grundislav (or anyone else here?) knows the episode of Inspector Columbo called "Murder under Glass" (and has probably watched it before writing the plot of BJ5) ;)

I'm on day three, 55 points, in my inventory I've got the costume, the fingerprint set, the note from the inspector and the fishhook. I really have no idea what to do, because no one seems to be wanting talk to me. And I can't find Alice in Asuka ...
What did I miss?  ???

Thanks

great one  ;D I already laughed when I saw the new skin ...
and I've heard that April fool's jokes are out of fashion, this is really the first one today I hear, thanks

my feeble entry. i had much fun making this.

Its called "under the bridge".

This is where Old Man McGee Lives, he was kicked out of the hostel, and now has to live here. Alone.

this was my first idea ... now I have to think of somthing else  ::)

the perspective seems a bit weird to me, but maybe that's intended  :)

Here, because it's almost Christmas, a frame of a talking view:

Lately, I've been wondering whether it is possible to release a beta testing version of the first two chapters once they are finished (which hopefully won't take too long anymore) - given that there's someone who would like to bugtest a game that's only half finished.
This would have several advantages. The tester doesn't have to test the whole game at once (which would take longer). I wouldn't have to get rid of all bugs at one time but could "clean" the first half of the game right away and the other half later ... and I could get feedback to the first two chapters at a point where I'm still closer to them than I'll be later ...

Is there anything to be said against that?

Merry ChristmasÃ,  :)

I would be interested in some sound effects. If you can record some or know where I can find some I'd be glad if you helped out.
At the moment, I particularly need

1. animal sounds:
a cat, preferably one in danger or in another uncomfortable situation
a barking dog who wants to defend his home no matter what ...
and maybe a cry of an eagle or another bigger bird.

2. the sound of the sea
on a normal day
and on a very stormy day

if you are interested, pm me  :)

thanks
