You've been here for a long time giving crit, when you post something unhelpful and in my opinion extremely useless like that am I not suppose to call you on it because you've given helpful advice in the past?

I just did a search for posts started by MrColossal with the words Increator in the title, I'm not going through my entire post history for this... You have a problem with me, PM me and tell it to me. You think I'm following you around and picking on you, then you're very much mistaken.

bigrd32: Don't worry about it, it doesn't really matter, make something else and feel free to post in the CL again, you seem to be well on your way to learning AGS, congratulations and good luck.

Increator: compare your response to Prog's or Ishmael. My sprite didn't get mocked at all, it's a game and I gave it out freely, I don't think bigrd32 even knows who I am.

And I don't understand your "... once again" comment. You wrote no crit what so ever and I said it didn't belong there. You're the one that was hostile.

bigrd32:
For a test game it's fine. Not really something to release on the internet, hehe. But the main thing I can suggest to do is keep these rooms and try other things, just add in a more complex cutscene, it doesn't have to make sense but you'll learn how to do it. Pick a scripting tutorial, something low level, and add it into one of the rooms just to get a feel for scripting.

I don't know if this really belongs in the crit lounge but I don't know where to move it so I'll just leave it here.

Increator, if you don't know how to give crit, you don't belong in the crits lounge...

I can't download the file since freewebs tells me some of my settings are stopping it from being downloaded.

Yes quite LJUBI, calm down.

Also, squinky, the chick is my girlfriend! That's her graduation dress she made out of carebear sheets! Hooray for girlfriends

hey hey hey we're all friends here!

* MrColossal does a little tap dance

also:

I think it would take an exceptional AGS game for me to buy it... I don't mean awesome art or MIND BLOWING 3D but just something that can snag me by the brain and make me need that game...

It could even be a text adventure for all I care...

to build off of Squinky mk. I's comment, I wish some more serious, more professional game developement groups would use AGS with the intent to sell just so they could forge the way for other people.

But then I was thinking.. why do we need to advance the graphics so much? Games like Curse of Monkey Island, Syberia or The Longest Journey were beautiful enough, it's not like 2d graphics are always lo-color or something. Why do people immedeately decide that if a game isn't 3d or is a bit old, that they can't enjoy it?

The same reason some people dismiss adventure games as soon as they find out they're 3d or have an action element in them. People are awkward and you either pander* to that to get the most broad user base or you do what you want to do any not be surprised when you don't make a million dollars.

"I think it's also the lack of an involving story that makes me turn to some more mainstream games on occasion. Ã, The progress of story-telling is often so slow in adventures that it feels like you're pixel-hunting for new sentences in the narrative."

This also sums me up pretty well...

If I go back and play adventure games that I played when I was a kid I hate hate hate the majority of the puzzles. They are on the whole so stupid. This may be just me but the logic behind the puzzles aren't logical in any sense.

"Why the hell would that work?"

"Why the hell should I even think of that?"

and the ever popular:

"Why the hell?"

These words fall from my lips so often when I tried replaying adventure games and newer adventure/AGS games.

"So why do I continue to think that adventure games are awesome if you hate one of their defining features?" you ask? Well... Because it's an amazing way to develope/invent/create/design a world and allow people to live in it without wanting to blow it up.

or maybe, just random thought, have 3 polaroids splayed out like one would hold cards and each one is the hand in a different snapping position... maybe...

as in start, middle and end of snap?

Just an idea
#1518
have you made an AGS game yet? If not, don't try to make the biggest ags game yet with 16 playable characters.

There now we can find out!

How did you do this LGM? There are people that bump dead threads and then never come back to answer the question of "why?" now we know! How did you stumble apon this thread?

I ask because maybe there's a way we can avoid that happening in the future.

Why, they aren't hurting anyone.

Who cares? You went to the sites knowing that they were going to be something shocking, it's not their fault that you went looking for them.
