after looking through a shit-ton of smurf figurines I conclude that the only smurfs that had hair on their heads were girls, therefore I conclude that Evil is indeed a female smurf.

Which proves my theory on Intelligent Design... There has to be a creator behind all of this and it is obviously Gargamel.

<DGMacphee> ZVarily
<DGMacphee> Err Verily

dg made a typo...

<Pesty> I like ZVarily better.
<[eric]> ZVarily adds Z depth

I made a joke about his typo...

<DGMacphee> Blender doesn't have ZVarily cause it sucks

he made a joke about Blender.

The end!

Hopefully we can put that joke to rest now!

Yet again I point you here, Shbaz, http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=15873.msg195306#msg195306

Get it now? Hehe.

I use 3d max every once and a while to block out a scene I'm having trouble with or to make a quick prop if it's overly technical [like an elevator or water tower] and stick it in and trace it, so I encourage anyone to use whatever means necessary to achieve the end result.

THERE IS NO CHEATING! remember that.

agreed, shift b comes natural to me now but whenever I use Imageready the pencil tool is still N! Explain that!

Plus I hate how photoshop and imageready don't do some things exactly the same, brush sizes and how they're represented on screen is handled differently in each program! Make-a-no-sense-a!

The community belongs to the newbies and they shape it into their own image. The best days is yet to come!

I dunno man, I mean have you seen what some of these new people look like on the post your picture here thread?

Let me just say that they look nothing like a young John Malkovich

If you could provide some freeware links it'd help more people!

Know of any?

To agree with Helm and make an obvious joke about him being excited over physics [insert joke]  is where I point out the best part of Half Life 2... getting the batteries for the generator... Too bad it was so damned easy... Extremely simple "get x use y" but in my opinion the world interaction and physics made it seem... fresh.

In your opinion.

For some people adventure games are also about solving puzzles. For some it's more about solving puzzles.

my site should be back up... so... go get'im!

You might want to retool the upwalking animation as it sucks... maybe I'll take a second pass at it some day.

"My sense is that the game was being done by a crowd weaned on anime (some of the character designs definitely show anime influences), Japanese RPGs, and David Eddings quality fantasy novels.  They had a fondness for KQ, sure, but they were warped by those influencs to the point that was most important was telling an epic, melodramatic fantasy story, where the hero goes around declaiming and there are long, elaborate, uninteractive dialogue sequences."

Maybe I'm missing something here, but I don't see anywhere on the website where there is art that is anime inspired.

I don't see anything on the website that says the game was going to be full of long and boring uninteractive cutscenes...

"If you read the forums, it's clear there was a coup in KQIX's development where the original writer was ousted.  I assume he had wanted to tell a more humble fairy tale, not a lame fantasy melodrama.  It's a shame he didn't manage to keep his hand in this."

Can you back that assumption up with anything or are you just making wild guesses?

Also, what does it matter, when any game gets shut down people cry foul and say release it anyway, even when some project on the AGS forums gets shut down people go a little nuts trying to convince the person to keep it going.

Sure you can criticise something but from what I've read [unless their forums give more story out, which I don't read] you're making a lot of assumptions with little fact.

But please, prove me wrong if I am.

Hehe no, as far as I remember it explains it in the anime. But the comics are so much better than the anime you'll want to die.

Nausicaa:
Spoiler
Ok, I may be wrong here - but does Nausicaa's dress, at the very end, change from red to blue without explanation?

Spoiler

She was covered in Ohmu blood. Stained her dress blue.

If it's free have you tried the autodesk site? They'd offer a download.

Check out VDMSound and SCUMMVM, they let you play the games fully with sound and everything.

Urgh! I love when people rant on about things they have no knowledge of. Someone email Vivendi and ask instead of pretending that because they have a lot of money they don't need to care about their copyrights.

scumm: Or they're making the games and not advertising them
