Um, good luck and all but why did you take Bungie's Pimps At Sea images and well, idea?

You seem to be a fan of Bungie from your website so it's obvious that's where you got it from.

Also, from your description I don't understand what makes them pimps. Is there a reason you want them to be pimps? As in do they have a series of prostitutes that the player controls?

Just wondering, and good luck.

it all depends on how you write it

for me a side quest would be more story. branching off of the main story to learn more about the world and about the characters. You don't HAVE to do it to finish the game's overall story but if you want to learn all you can about the character you play, the world you inhabit, the characters you meet, then it's there for you.

I think a side quest in an adventure that allows you to skip parts of the game you'd usually have to play through would be horrible. Granted no one mentioned this and I can't think of an example, but I just want to throw it out there.

As for your PS, that would be quite an undertaking. If you wrote the game with a generic character in mind where it doesn't matter who the character is, it would be easier. Otherwise you have to change everything. The personalities of the 2 characters would more than likely be very different otherwise why is it a treat to play the game as someone else? If it was a female character you'd have to change all pronouns and make sure there wasn't anything in the game that only a man can do [like uh... produce sperm? Get prostate cancer?]. As I said, a huge undertaking.

from what I remember when I was studying this Ragnorok has happened and lots of gods have died.. but not really.. but they did...

So I was confused and gave up.

I always liked the idea of Odin sacrificing himself to himself. That and the god who had to put his arm in Fenrir's mouth as a show of good faith while they bound Fenrir in ribbon.

Now that you're getting older you can choose what you want to be your speciality pain.

Alec, Stuh, that's really unacceptable behaviour.

Chicken, I know they're paint overs of my sprites, he knows they're paint overs, you know and probably a majority of people here know, but I gave them away for free.

He can do whatever he wants good for him. I'm just glad they're helping people. I appreciate you trying stick up for me but it it's alright. Everyone all over the planet has free use of those sprites and if someone tries to steal them THEN we can attack him with all of our ninjas.

But the sprite, to me the eyes look like pits and not eyes. Like there's nothing in there, just holes. A slight shine on the upper part of the eye would work well I think. Good luck with the rest of him and if you can I suggest getting someone to help you on the up walking cycle [if you continue to use my templates] because it looks kinda bad...

Good for them. Downloading the demo to take a peak.

How will this effect indie adventure games? Well, some people will make games with it and they will have 3d characters over 2d backgrounds. What else will it do?

There isn't a battle between AGS and Wintermute and I think people here would love it if Wintermute gained a following like we have here. The more people working on adventure games the better.

I don't really like your subject heading because it can seem trolly and insight flames. So as an act of prevention, please don't get into a big arguement over which is better. There's no point to it.

Either way, good luck wintermute.

LGM, I was really just kidding around... I make fun of AGA not because I hate him but because it's just making jokes.

Spoiler
But the reason you should get shit for it is because you don't have a stance. You just have an arbitrary rule you created to justify stealing. I steal because I'm lazy, mean, dumb and don't have the patience to save up for things I want NOW NOW NOW. What's so wrong about coming to terms with that? Unless it's free, music isn't and shouldn't be free just like computer programs. Saying that stealing and then profiting monetarily from that theft is wrong but stealing and profiting in another way [the feel good tunes of music] isn't is contradictory. Tons of work goes into music just like tons of work goes into making a computer program.

But DG, patents can be renewed but I think it's copyrights that can't. Mickey Mouse being the example. Mickey should be public domain but Disney Corp is quite the shift sally.

I have a patent on a little fire fighting invention I made and I highly doubt it can't be renewed.

BOYD: And what if, by law, you had to shut down the mod projects otherwise lose your copyright and also lose your control and everyone takes credit for your original work? [and really, if there are no original thoughts there can't be anything original except finger prints and snowflakes.]

p.s. I hate AGA

Copyright isn't just about money. If I copyright a character I'm not doing it so I can print T-Shirts and make money off of it. I'm doing it so I have full legal control of what happens to that character. So someone can't take the character and do things with it that I don't want done.

I can't just go out and make and sell a Sam and Max game because it legally isn't my property. Steve Purcell owns them lock stock and barrel, 100%. Did he copyright them cause he's greedy and wants the money money money? I highly doubt that was his only reason. I'm not going to say that he didn't want to make money off of them but I'm sure what he originally wanted was complete control over them as characters.

I really think this is something you have to experience in order to understand why it might be important. If you have an idea and then someone craps out an idea JUST like yours so they can try and ride the wave of your popularity, aren't you going to be upset? If you're thinking something like "No I wouldn't." or "It would force me to work harder." or something then I just can't believe you. If there is something you have put blood sweat and tears into and then someone else just rips it off, you're not going to fight for it?

If I copyright a character or story or anything, I want complete control and ownership over every aspect of that story,Ã,  lock stock and barrel, 100%.

LGM: No he's trying to justify pirating MP3s, QUICK convert them to OGG and you're safe!

Boyd: I highly doubt that a company shuts down a mod project because they are afraid that the mod will be better than their game. From what I understand you have to actively protect your copyright, you can't pick and choose. If one project is infringing on your copyright then you have to stop it. By law. You can't just let everything slide and attack any old project. I'm sure the majority of cease and desist orders that go out don't even get to the President of the company. Legal just mails them out because 1. That's their job and 2. It's the law.

Also, how in the world does pirating a game fight the system? Why don't you become a lawyer and actually fight the system? Or just admit that the reason you pirate is the same reason I pirate. I'm too lazy to get a higher paying job and I'm too impatient to save up and a majority of the time I'm just a jerk who steals things because I can. Don't pretend you're a freedom fighter sticking it to the man.

Add a light source, then use that to figure out where the fissures and cracks are in the wall

If it's someone's house then it's ok to smooth out the walls if you want, since it's not just some random cave. Like the walkway that spirals around the inside of the room, that's cut from the stone and if it they can do that I'm sure they'd smooth out the walls here and there, maybe carve some bookshelves or a potty

I would like a time traveling game because it would be interesting but not one involving AGSers... You have such nice graphics that would fit a serious game why do you really want to do a comedic game?

but as far as all this paradox talk and such, that's all well and good but don't you think that's all up to how the story plays out? There are tons of time travel stories and movies and games that involve the characters not even coming close to their grandmothers in order to kill them.

If he doesn't write a paradox into the story then there is no paradox, all fine and good.

and what are you talking about with time travel not being possible? It's a game, anything is possible.

I get that you're just going off on time travel as an idea and not talking about Mr Masse's game at all, but this is the critics lounge so please try to stay on topic.
