General Discussion / Re: Firefox 1.0 is out

Firefox also takes a little longer to load up for me than the browser I use

I tried switching to Firefox, Esseb gave me all the links and extensions to install and everything... but I just have too many habits from the browser I use to switch over.

General Discussion / Re: Episode III Trailer

I agree with the Dragon Lady!

When it came to episode 2 and Yoda fighting, everyone was like "THAT WAS AWESOME!" and I just didn't see the awesomeness, seeing Jackie Chan beat up 30 guys with a ladder is awesome because [while fake] it is real people moving about the world, Yoda is a 3d object added in post and Chistopher Lee is just swinging his lightsaber around wildly in a bluescreen room...

People could say I thought about it too much but I had a hard time not thinking about all the CGI since it's just flat out in your face computer generated images, it's kinda hard not to. [Especially with the princess' space ship, did they just get Bryce and wanted to mess around with raytracing?]

Anyway, enough ranting, I just don't understand how some movies can blend the CGI with the live action so well [LotR] and others just can't do it for the life of them

Personally I'm all about rotating objects and characters...

but whichever you decide on is, of course, fine

can we still kick some users...

I have a list!

It may not help CPU load but it will help loads!

Come on Mr. Colossal it is an old game of DOS, it should exist in a gratuitous way in some abandonware place or something like that.

Um, no Dark... If you want to pirate the program do it on your own and keep it off these boards.

I'm not making this rule up CJ says so, so stop.

I enjoy the slowness, the slowness from the forums turns away the impatient jerks who post 200 times a day so the forums have been slow lately

Gen Gen and critics lounge don't fill up in 12 hours now

hooray for slow!

reactor cloth can get good results but it's a tricky annoying beast.

also, depending on the complexity of the mesh it will seriously up your render times [calculating the dynamics of the cloth that is]

I also don't like the documentation that came with Reactor because it's so sparse but anyway, I suppose keep messing around with it or look for online tutorials

but really, if you're doing this for sprites and not big fully animated cutscenes, it might be overkill, in my opinion

Someone will mention poser and I advise you not to listen to them

"Why poser is a viable blah blah" because Poser always looks like Poser

"But you can make it not look like Poser with just a blah blah" No sorry, it always looks like poser.

What do you need for cloth? Like a cape or just a shirt? If it's something that will really flow then yea, go for it but if you just want a shirt to move well on the body, I think that might be overkill

What 3d program do you have, if any. Blender being free would be a good bet I'm sure and it has [somewhere] cloth-a-bility

We shall wait for Shbaz

I'm a perfectionist, cap'n...

* MrColossal runs off to the full length mirror to try on his slutty dress his dad hates.

I was saddened by you Cap'n when you posted a while ago saying "WOO! 100 downloads for VPET!" I was like "Only 100! What the hell?" I don't know what it is but 6 Day Assassin gets like 300 a week [once it got 1300+ one week] and I haven't advertised that game in the sligthest, I don't know what it is.

I think you should find a way to remake VPet into a flash or Java game, I think tons of people would play it then in their off time at work. It's a unique game that could easily be stuck in Yahoo games and people would play the ever loving shit out of it.

As for reading reviews for my own games, there aren't that many in english. I notice that the czechs love 6da and I have no way of reading those reviews so I imagine they like it since there seem to be a lot of site with it listed, or maybe it's a big joke they're playing on me.

I'm quite interested in knowing why Spellbound hasn't gotten the same attention as 6DA, maybe because 6DA is so small and easily downloaded and runs on just about any computer while Spellbound is almost 10 megs and 32 bit?

in case you're not joking:

then explain this game hotspot:

http://www.agsforums.com/yabb/index.php?topic=17128.0

also, that's not very creative of you to think that a cursor can only control 2 axis. It may look that way on screen but there's tons of stuff you can do with a cursor.

And the way he described his cursor system sounds like an useable idea... don't know how good it would work but we'd have to see. How would it handle something in the middle of the room like let's say a dangling bit of robe? would you have to move the cursor across the floor, up the wall, over the ceiling and then to the rope?

Check out the link I posted about and play that demo for insperation.

anyway:

BorisZ, why should people help you? That is the big question everyon should ask before posting a request for help.

Do you know how to program? Do you know how to work in 3d? You say there will be programming for you to do but what language or engine will it be in? Are there examples of things you've done before? Do you have a story or anything besides a vague idea that you want to make a 3d adventure game?

Go to the library, my library has tons of books that teach you various programming languages from C++ to Java to Machine code

if you explain what kind of program you want to make maybe people can help better

If you look at the movie frame by frame when they're showing her you can see the wire leading from her hand to the puppeteer's. It moves very quick so you'll have to look closely. It also explains why her mouth was a complete straight line that looked cut into her head and opened on a 90 degree hinge.

They also got Frank Oz to do her voice and Jim Henson's son to be the puppeteer... That liberal jew hippy terrorist Michael Moore spared no expense to make us believe that a mother of a military man would be upset at the administration for letting her kid get killed...

But more seriously... I'm really worried about this election and I'm worried about this Sinclair broadcasting shite with the Stolen Honour shite, shite... shite

rotate and resize I could use for things like credits and for my menu in Time Out

along with some sekrit things that are being worked on it could come in mega handy, mostly the rotate.

Also people could make paratrooper clones in AGS! But I think it's a feature that may not make much sense at the moment [like rawdrawing] but will be discovered by people and used quite a bit for things we've never thought of.

General Discussion / Re: About hair
Sun 17/10/2004 20:04:40
As Jet knows my hair is quite short, I haven't been to a barbershop in years and years cause I just grab a pair of buzzers and ZWWOOP off it comes, I think I've saved thousands of dollars that way.

http://www.agsforums.com/mittens2004/DSCF0026.html [I also love sandwiches!]

I have more hair on my legs than I do on my head.

For a while I thought about growing my hair out and longer but when it got to that insane stage where it's not really long enough to look good and it's not short enough to look good I got scared and shaved it off, much to Jess' disappointment.

And Jess is rocking the same hair style Dart. She wants to buzz the back of her head close but I don't think she has the guts for it yet. And ultimately what she wants to do is rock the Tank Girl hair...

But then again, who doesn't want to be like Tank Girl?
