I do not drink. I have been to 3 Mittens. They have been some of the best times I've had as an adult.

Apparently the entertainment industry is immune to stock market fluctuations.

Oh yea, it's October 14th at 11:30 Easter Standard, I didn't hear anything about UFOs. No message from Goodchild either.

I just read this over the weekend after having friends yell at me to read it.. I loved it.

It was so gorgeous and it made me feel something... I don't know what exactly, sadness, sure but there were so many little things hiding in that story that I just read it all and then stared straight ahead thinking about it.

In summary:
I loved it

Mods I have a question, if 2008 comes and goes and the predictions are found to be wrong and the world is exactly as it was before. What does that do to your opinion of Blossom Goodchild? I watched her video where she explains her prediction and she said many times with conviction that it will happen and and it is definately going to happen and she's spoke with aliens in her mind and if it doesn't the only thing left to do is to back pedal and make up an excuse why it didn't happen. My guess is she will say there wasn't enough love in the world even though she said there was enough and that's why they found us.

The reason I ask is that this thread is about UFO theories and now psychic phenomena is being brought in. A UFO has a grounding in science where psychic ability has pretty much been debunked soundly for years and years and years. So if all these predictions of UFOs this year turn out false, will you be putting any stock into future predictions?

Nice videos mark, I like the editing and how you reacted to "other strange things on google earth"

I also loved loved loved how you handled that UFO video in your first episode, pointing out that the camera person was obviously following the aircraft and not the other object which would be of more interest. That was a great bit of debunking.

However, I'm curious who this Blossom Goodchild woman is? Where does she get her information?

I hear you can get autism from cooties shots anyway...

I'm just saying that this topic seems like a private conversation between 2 people. There's nothing really for anyone else to contribute to and I wanted to alert you guys to the Private Message feature of the forums in case you didn't know about it.
#231
hey there, just letting you know that instead of creating a new topic on this you could have Private Messaged the person, if you click their name on the left there's a PM option.

obviously jess and I will be there, we are fine with anything though we totally prefer a house or some place with a common meeting area. 1 roof to meet under I feel is very essential to social activities and general friendliness.

I think this is the plugin you saw?

http://www.ononesoftware.com/detail.php?prodLine_id=4

I also found this when googling for "photoshop mask selection plugin"

looking at this tutorial, http://www2.indigorenderer.com/joomla/forum/viewtopic.php225 (of course it starts from already having this image to begin with]

I saw this image
and I wonder if you are painting a similar color behind the grass, this could help to get rid of the "little bugs"

There is also Maya Paint FX which I really want to try out but it has a bunch of presets and such for painting organic things like this [from what I understand]

Which you then render out, getting shadows and overlap and all that

can you post a picture you took that is causing particular problems so we can do some tests?

The only other solution I can think of is just paint these parts straight into photoshop or whatever program you use. You could spend 5 hours getting a photo to look good or 2 hours painting it from scratch or nearly scratch.

I think a lot of the problem I'm having with this discussion is the words people use.

"I personally prefer a detailed and beautifully rendered or drawn 2D background over a blocky and sparse 3D environment that has nothing in it"

Sure, I agree. But I also prefer a beautifully rendered or drawn 2d background to a badly rendered or drawn 2d background. I also prefer a beautifully made 3d world to a crappily made one.

This is a bad 3d room

This is a bad 2d room

This is all kinds of bad by some people's standards but it's Grim Fandango so... Maybe it's the game that makes a game good and not the art style that is chosen to play it in?

It's very interesting to read some views about what an adventure game is. I never imagined that the engine mattered when it came to making an adventure game or that the camera can't move because that is important to the gameplay.

As far as I recall the majority of games are created to tell a story from one person's point of view and they do it just well in 3d or 2d.

"I would rather play old pc games with no sound even if they are blocky 2D than some crappy 3D games."

But would you rather play a crappy 2d game from the 90s over a good 3d game?

well, just tell people that's why you did that with the mustache:

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Xa5Edh6T0kw

if you watch this video you can see that the cat fades in and then his teeth and eyes just POP in, I guess they had a problem with fading in self illuminated models... Good to know AMERICAN McGee had the same problems as his soviet brothers...

Come to think of it, may I suggest you brand this game with a soviet counterpart to American McGee?

Here's hoping this game "Does damage" to socio-political affairs!

Also, here's hoping we live through winter!

edit: oh also, did you make Magic Smiling cat's mustache not sync up with his fading because the fading of the Chesire Cat was so terrible in the original?

I just watched it, sadly I can see how conspiracy theorist jerks could pick the experiments apart and try to discredit the whole thing but I'm glad they did it.

It's weird that they used a sun substitute to emulate the sun when they could have just used the sun?
