I am a lazy art slob...

I have a job but it's a brainless one at a library where I stare at the Dewey Decimal System all day and eventually snap and kill someone.

I graduated from The School of Visual Arts a year ago with a degree in cartooning... I have an official degree in comic bookery... Go me...

Just showing you some more cartoony bendy lines. If everything is straight always forever then don't mind these sketches, but the little bit of bend adds a little more personality

also, to make him cuter i'd put his mouth in between his eyes and high up like in the 1st sketch.

i'm angry.... i can't figure out how to do the grassy bank... i've attempted and reattempted it over and over again and it always looks like teh p00... so sadly i may end up cropping it which would mean getting rid of the water....argh!

sped it up and took off the head and repositioned the animation frames, she'll have to add more frames for the head to move like that and it should be wicked subtle because you don't really swing your head from side to side when you walk [at least i don't, maybe i walk wrong]

the walk looks better in my opinion but as kaaz said, every other frame is fuzzy like it was transformed or something.

I also think there should be many more frames in this cycle to make it ultra smooth to go well with the quality of your backgrounds

Why not instead of creating a new forum [which would need new moderators and a few months of hanging around for the current users to get used to let alone the new people that come] we just renovate the current critics lounge

A point I've made many times is that I hate 1 word replies or emoticons with bug eyes as an entire reply to someone asking for crit. It serves no purpose then to clog up a thread. So instead of making a new forum, crack down on the current one.

Maybe convince CJ to find a way to add a character limit that has to be passed before you can post [not a great idea but even if it's around for a month and then taken away it will encourage better posting habits]

More moderating of current threads to get rid of emoticon posts and "That looks gud." posts.

If we renovate this forum into a... not really less friendly place, but a more honest crit forum, people would hopefully look over their art one more time before posting because they know they're going to get honest crit. Obviously people shouldn't insult in their crit but it shouldn't be too sugar coated either.

Personally I can usually tell when someone is making an honest attempt and if they maybe did something awkward I'm not going to tell them off, I can realize that they are trying and adjust my crit.

I think another thing I'd like to encourage people to do is talk about their own art first. If you post a background don't just say "Wat do u think?!" Tell us how long it took or what it's for or what you were trying to achieve [I notice a lot of the better threads that involve more crit usually have the artist explaining their actions and why they did such and such and what they think they need help on]

Wacom tablets are really good.

So, yes.

There are many reasons why and if you want to know why I can tell you but just know that they're good.

Jess has a small one and she does amazing things with it and kicks my ass.

And technically, if 'figuring it out' simply means to name which house - I think more than 2% of the population can guess with the odds at 1/5.

Duh, of course Einstein didn't know what he was talking about... He made very little money and I think the majority of people on this forum make more money than him..

Way to go Einstein...

i was making a joke, saying that they might as well just cancel them cause if they even started them they'd get canceled anyway
#2616
i just made these now...

I suppose they're kinda small but oh well, no skin off my teeth

I suggest a calmification

just make the game and people will like it. you are your own worst critic and you'll paralyze yourself with questions before you even come close to starting the game

just make it and people will play it and like it
#2618
To your first ps, you don't like that? But it's ok for you to be all sarcastic about us not needing you? I wasn't just saying that to insult you. I was telling the truth. We have a lot of people who are always willing to help and who know how this community works.

I've tried to tell you how this community works and you don't listen. Oh well. I think you just dug yourself into a hole and instead of saying "Woops, sorry fellas!" you continued to get upset.

MillsJRoss posted a very nice reply to you and you completely ignored him, he offered many suggestions to you on an easier way of finding people who need music [and that way you can select which projects you like and respond to them instead of waiting for a project to come to you].

Do you not read the nice posts and just feed off the ones that anger you?

Oh well, good luck in whatever you choose to do.

I just wish they'd get on with announceing the cancelation of Grim Fandango 2, Maniac Mansion 3, indiana jones, and Monkey Island... At least then they couldn't get our hopes up and we'd also know that Grim and Maniac Mansion are safe from being ruined

and the reason I'm sure a majority of people would want to hear samples [or at least a name of a band they can look up and check out your skills] is cause they're just curious. They may not want to use you for their music but they're just curious as to what you can do.

I don't think anyone is asking to be impressed and I don't think a lot of people would be [we have a lot of talent on these forums and they're treated the same as every other agser] but it would help to know who you are. A band name or anything, there are also a lot of people who like the type of music it seems you play, so you might even get a bunch more fans.

So put yourself in our position, we get a lot of people who come through here and offer help or ask for help, a random post from someone won't cut it, sorry to say. I can't just go up to people and say "trust me I can draw well, hire me." I'm going to have to show samples, I know you want to send them to specific people but maybe we've been in this community longer than you have and know how it works better, dropping your samples on the forum for all to see works better than what you want to do.
