I agree out of the blue seemed to work best, look at the first Orow, there was no "is this week best for everyone?" it was just "DO IT OR DON'T!"

There, how about the DIOD week?
#302
OROWs never died so I don't know where that came from. As far as I know we just haven't had another in a while.

Also, when we were first coming up with the OROW we asked ourselves "should this be a competition?" and the only reason we said yes was to give a sense of closure on the project. Winning an OROW means nothing, at least to me and the other people who started it. The point of OROW was to get people making games and if someone uses the OROW as a way to convince themselves that they could finish the game they were working on and release it for all, then that's only a good thing.

Ghormak summed it up nicely

but as soon as it becomes obvious he's interested in more, I'll simply tell him no, and they'll generally understand

Stupot, the number 2000 is just an arbitrary thing humans decided on. We could at some point decide to start counting over again when we get to like the 10,000's. Then there will be another year 2000. Or another religion will pop up that says that god counts years every 1000 years so in the year 2,000,000 is when the world will REALLY end.

dun dun DUUUUN!

It almost seems like people have to be taught how to sketch. It's not that intuitive for everyone to just start sketching and working out forms and composition in that stage. The process of making a series of sketches before even coming to the final sketch is also something that I think may be hard to understand.

Sometimes you have to throw out your last sketch and not just erase a bit here and move this line down a little. The purpose of the sketch is to be useful, changeable and ultimately disposable.

If you teach/encourage the use of sketching before going forward with a BG you can hit some of the key composition problems.

People might also think that in order to show a sketch they need to have a scanner but you can sketch in mspaint with a mouse for all it matters. The word "sketch" is loaded to make you think about drawing by hand.

C Leksutin, in the tree, with the rifle.

If you're a real person, please don't post threads like this in the hints and tips thread.

I am locking this. Join the forums if you want to post in other parts.

Thanks

edit: nevermind, this isn't a real human, a quick google search for the name brings up tons of forum profiles all registered today with not posts.

How many straight men will admit to being flattered when hit on by another man?

Back in highschool I was so scared to ask girls out for fear of negative reaction. I can't even BEGIN to imagine how scared a grown up person would be to ask out a member of their own sex for fear of negative reaction/public spectacle/getting the shit beat out of you.

The worst thing I thought a girl would do is laugh, what if I was afraid she'd gather up a bunch of friends and beat me up in the parking lot too?

It's funny how one person asked nicely and acted really maturely about asking if this avatar is appropriate and now all of the sudden everyone is going to do it.

Immature would be just doing it and refusing to change it when asked. Immature is randomly insulting someone because you like boobs better than penises.

You don't have to think about this avatar next to someone's post because he's not going to do it. He asked and we said "no thanks!" so I imagine he won't. Hooray! Everyone wins?

Argh anyway, it's a funny image and it would go well with the common mispronounced megaman bad guy... "Cunt Man"

I am also nothing but excited about this BUT whenever I read this thread title I read it as:

Large HardOn Collider

And I think we should build this machine.

I haven't upgraded to 3 because I'm making a 256 color game and last I heard 3 doesn't support that anymore?

Jeez InCreator, calm down a bit?

There are so many different forms of humor that different people find funny you can't expect everyone to agree.

I think it's a funny image. The same way I think jokes about dead babies are funny and people getting kicked in the nuts. I also find "higher"(whatever that is) forms of comedy funny.

The image is not really disgusting or in bad taste.

People aren't necessarily supporting the image like it's something that needs support, they just aren't freaking out at a drawing some dude made.

Dick and fart jokes are funny, in my opinion. Let people laugh at them and move on if it's so crazy offensive to you. The thread DOES have a warning.

While that sounds totally awesome I'm afraid it wouldn't be quite the most appropriate thing to use. Still, you can post the image here just so we can laugh at it but using it as an avatar, maybe not.

Register for an account and post in the right forum or I will just lock your threads as soon as I see them.

You can make one, sure, people do it all the time. Just not in AGS. AGS is not ment for nor does it support anything of this type.

You also posted in the very wrong forum. I'm just going to lock this and if you have any further questions, feel free to register and post them in the AGS Talk and Chit Chat forum or the General forum.

Thanks.

Over the course of history I'd say prayer, meditation, and placebos have saved far more lives than Paxil and Acetaminophen. Maybe not directly, but everyone knows at least one person who's found new meaning in life through the bible, or was cured from a disease/pain simply by believing in someone's healing powers.

What ended polio? What ended the black plague? What can treat and often times defeat cancer? What ended small pox? What has SIGNIFICANTLY increased the life span of a person with HIV/AIDS? What has SIGNIFICANTLY increased the life span of humanity?

It wasn't wishful thinking and sitting in a quiet room and thinking about Jesus... You are so, so wrong about everything, basically, that it's very hard to even BEGIN to rebut your comments.

Either it works or it doesn't, Emerald... The scientific method is a tool used to determine that. Acupuncture, homeopathy, chiropractic claims of healing sickness, prayer, psychic surgery, etc.. They have all failed. If you make a claim and that claim doesn't happen, you've failed. It's very simple. If you some day in the future get cancer, who is the FIRST person you will run to to fix you?
