The only sample of art by Ben Catmull that I can find. He's totally rock awesome and I want to be his best friend.

Chris Ware, amazing amazing amazing amazing.

http://www.ashleywoodartist.com/praxis2/

Ashley Wood, ditto. And not just cause he has a comic called Automatic Kafka about robots.

David Mack [not any good images of his online] does Kabuki and it's amazing

http://www.celiacalle.com/

Celia Calle, gorgeous

http://www.fareldalrymple.com/

Farel, also gorgeous.

http://www.davidchoe.com/

David Choe, rock.

i'm gonna stop now cause i could do this all day and it's 7pm meaning that it's night time and there is no day in site so i'd have to do this for 12 more hours.

one just has to remember that one is not these artists and that when looking for inspiration one should not get too caught up in the "Oh my god these guys are amazing and I suck tits!"

i agree with the Gothic Garage. Or maybe the Gold Mund confuses me.

How can a developer tell the player background information about a game or the story behind the production of a game while the player is playing?

i haven't seen the Fatman commentary but when i heard about it i wanted to kick Mike in the face cause it was an awesome idea that i wish i thought of first!

in case no one knows about it, MillsJRoss rereleased Ace Quest with commentary through a new gui that you can pop up and read about the scene.

Also a good idea.

I love learning about what happened behind the scenes and learning about what went on behind the scenes of things my friends have done in the AGS community is even better. I get to see how they tackled problems or developed an idea.

it was shutdown cause i mentioned to DG that it will more than likely be a huge thread with posts that only had a few words in them and multiple posts by people and people saying how funny other quotes were and how other's weren't funny.

with the MSpaint/Photoshop/Programming/Sprite contests, at least that forces someone to make something instead of just posting a series of 4 word captions thought up in 3 minutes

the only warning i have to that type of cursor system [the one that igor mentioned] is accidentally slipping off the hotspot and WOOPS! there goes your cursor.

store the last used cursor maybe? and stay away from pixel hunts not only cause they annoy but because slipping off a few pixels is easier [obviously]

otherwise i love you guys

they remind me a lot of the Dink Smallwood backgrounds

i don't like how the trees have such a crisp shadow and nothing else does, not even the really tall rocks
#3048
looks MUCH better now rock on

now i can actually see stuff when before it was really dark

the only things that i would personally take out are the stars that are too close to the tree branches. like on the left and middle, there's one that looks like it's sitting on the tree branch in the middle and on the left there are two, one on the top left and one near the tip

know what i mean? otherwise woop, it's awesome

well then i suggest using PNG or at the very least upping the compression on those jpegs, there's actually no way i can see more than 256 colours cause it's so badly compressed:

see when i zoom in on that gif i can actually see everything, zooming in on that JPEG just destroys it all.

however, my suggestion is maybe instead of complete black shadows in the foreground to actually draw them and just make them in shadow. I think things like that in the foreground look more like black cardboard instead of a peice of scenery that has volume and mass

well he can PM them

i thought you ment your original post was in response to LGM, my bad
#3051
actually it is Ultimo, as he said in a post:

"Besides, KQ5, KQ6, and KQ7 freeze my system if they are minimized and you try to back to them. That means I have to take a screenshot, save my game, quit, paste in paint, save the picture, reopen the game, load my save, move my character to the next frame of animation (which would be very hard), print screen, etc."

that makes it pretty damned hard

just a note, gif doesn't look like crap at all, you aren't using gradients as far as i can see and what gif will do is perserve your exact pixels and colours as long as it's below 256 colours which it looks like your image is
#3054
Sorry Tim, no crash for me either.

I tried in each room a few times.
#3055
i have XP and would be happy to help

i liked 2 and 3 was some shitty shit

and to clarify, by liked i mean it wasn't the worst movie ever and the effects were really well done. the 3d models looked really good except there was a lot of clipping

3 was shit.. just stupid

and the series... don't even bother
#3060
varying degrees of dusktitude:

also: http://www.shelales.com/sunsets.htm

i guess it just depends on what level of sunset you want but the majority of the photos have more orange

i dunno what to say really, how done is the image you're making? the ground is flat perspective wise and the sky is a flat colour, what else do you plan on adding?
