trapezoid speaks the truth

this is why i'm so super happy there isn't a forum on homestarrunner.com and why i stay away from any other forum that has to do with anything i like [present company excluded]. There's only so many times I can hear some retarded 13 year old scream about "HOW'DARE YOU STOP PLAYIN' BIGO ON SUNDAES!!!"

i think the internet has helped bring this mentality about. if you have a forum devoted to simpsons that plays new episodes once a week on sundays... what do you do the other 6 days of the week? Complain!

[or you're part of a community that tries to honour adventure games that haven't been played in going on 10 years... what do you do in those 10 years? Complain!]

which brings up a question, has anyone ever sent you an email saying how they think your animutations suck lately and you should go back to making fun of pokemon? i think that would be more crazy than people debating strong bad emails

The first thing that pops into my head that bothered me is that it wasn't always clear what direction you could walk in. I didn't know there was an east of the dead guy pile until I accidentally walked too close to the edge. Maybe I'm not smart but a little more indication would be nice.

I'll play it again and remind myself more later

it was a joke how this entire thread seems to be trapezoid against the world and even when you say you like the simpsons people still say "i think we can all agree the simspons isn't that good."

for to laugh

that's mine

I had to bump one of the frames in a little cause it didn't line up and he bounced around, kind of like the GIF above mine. That's something you really have to take notice of.

Also, if you have the colour for it I'd suggest darkening the back arm and the back leg so we can tell which arm/leg is in which position

I thought it was quite cute when I found out one of my teachers played Metal Gear Solid on the playstation. He even asked my friend and I for help [beating Psycho Mantis that is].

My parents played adventure games and I'm sure tons of teachers played them too. You just have to remind them that at one point in their life they held the Wishbringer stone and wished for a hint on how to get past that damned poodle.

I restarted playing some IF a few months ago and the first one I downloaded [not counting the Pick Up The Phonebooth and Die series] was Fine Tuned and it was a gorgeous game. I fell in love with it right away and it's the reason I made Spellbound.

"But Fine Tuned is so amazing and the atmosphere and characters are so well defined, if you loved it so much why is Spellbound kinda 2 dimensional?" Cause I tried to make it in a month.

I think graphics are a huge hurdle for anyone, it doesn't matter how intelligent you are if you feel you can't draw then you won't draw and if you can't match art styles with what's in your head you really aren't going to want to spend 5 years learning art. If you're a smart person who likes to write you can get into IF much easier than graphical adventures. How many people who have appeared in the AGS message boards looking for a team may have had an amazing story that would have blown us all out of the water if only they had some artists? With IF you can do it alone and you can better realize your game without any visual arts knowledge.

But enough rambling time for recommendations: Fine Tuned, Moments Out of Time, Blowjob Drifter. Two of those are recommendations and one is to show that there also a lot of "juvenile" IF games

it was still hard as hell...

I think the biggest thing that bothers me is that she's standing so straight, a more relaxed stance would look better i think.

also some of your proportion is of mostly the length of her thighs, here's a little edit I threw together

if you're going for an elongated style that's fine but those thighs should be a little shorter i think cause her knees are waaay down there.  also the image of the woman came from http://fineart.sk a great source for everything and may I also recommend to you: http://www.anime-model-sheets.com/ as the URL tells you it's full of anime model sheets. Both fineart.sk and the anime one are wicked slow tonite but they aren't always.

Good luck!

edit: and since the anime model sheets site is so slow I'll post this for you:

What other possible way do you suggest spell checking, remixor?

Are you suggesting that the human brain has the ability to scan ten, twelve... FIFTEEN words and find grammatical errors? If, as Trapezoid pointed out, a computer can't even do it, how do you suggest a mere human go about solving this impossible goal?

heh gil, aren't you the one who suggested rawdrawtriangle or something? how often does the normal AGSer use raw draw anything?

i think this is a very important feature that would make a lot of things easier especially organization of sprites.

tee hee:

"Thats terrible. If they are gonna take peoples money at least the can spell check."

yeh Tierra imo, is better but wasn't Tierra Earth in another language?
Like Damien said, I too think it's Terra.  In the Wing Commander games the humans were called Terrans (from Earth?)

Dunno ...

I liked Tierra better ... I don't much like words like Interactive, Productions, or Development in company names.  They probably got sick of people saying, "Ha ... like Sierra ... that's clever!!"  God knows I'd get sick of that pretty darn quick!

his upper body moves really well. his arms are really smooth but his legs don't work quite as well.

your third walking frame is him standing and that i think is where it falls apart. try replacing his legs [keep the arms] with a different pose so that the motion of the legs is maintained. i'm doing an edit but i'm not going to post it till i see what you do cause you're totally on the right track and i'd rather you did it than someone else

i think the talisman would make an interesting adventure game if only for the whole "objects having different identities" from the real world to the other

i enjoyed that book also, but it's been yeaaaaars since i read it

"It's like he's become some robot programmed to do Mario as efficiently and quickly as possible."

I enjoy the imagery this sentence brings forth.

just played the demo... that is the first time i felt a little ill playing a first person game. the controls made me want to die and the mouse cursor has a little lag on it so it comes to a smooth stop [or i had my settings too high]

thank the lord he doesn't get tired from running or we'd have a serious problem on our hands.

i really really really hope they fix the character control some how, not that i'd buy this game but just cause damn!! it's shitty
