i had to go into the editor and create another runscript instance and then just copy and pasted everything over

i'm wondering if a series of stray { }'s could make AGS think that the function was part of another function?

not that there are any in my script that is but who knows, maybe i edited them out and ags continued freaking out anyway

I might as well put this here:

This has happened for a long time but I can't get it to duplicate on command and I don't recall it ever being mentioned so sorry if it has. Sometimes I'll set up an interaction for an object or for repeatedly execute or something and then I'll save the game and test it and the interaction won't work. So I'll go back into ags to fiddle and see what I did wrong and when I go to the interactions window to click on my run script it won't be there. So I click on edit room script and it's in there but AGS doesn't see it.

This happened when making Spellbound on a region:

 MoveCharacterBlocking(EGO, 164, 235, 0);
 MoveCharacterBlocking(EGO, 164, 335, 1);

}

the second one labeled new is the one AGS can see

i'd really like to see you're own background painting in this style. mostly cause I hate that image now. I'm gonna put a disclaimer up saying that it's been years since those first tutorials were put up and I'm better now, hehe

what I'd suggest you do is take that background and transform it so it looks like instead of just falling behind the telescope it was retreating into the distance and coming out at us.

And I really think you need something in the lower part of the image, like how I have the mountains. Something to layer the scene, give a background for things to fall back into.

i made the game with the ags beta that only supported 32 bit backgrounds without and alpha channels. so the character is all blocky and shiznit yes.

hey junc,

as for 1, that's a "feature". I was able to work around it somehow [I have absolutely no idea how I did it] but it is a big problem with 256 colour palettes. Especially if you want to block out a portion of the screen with a black sprite it doesn't look good at all.

as for 3, i don't quite know what you mean. do you mean when importing a sprite or importing a palette? if it's importing a palette i had this problem too that's why i wrote this: http://www.sylpher.com/kafka/tutorials/palette.htm
