my biggest complaints are that they're so fuzzy and washy

it may be that's what you're going for but sometimes i'd like to see the details or at least a clear edge especially in the Conflict one.

and i think you're line art is really nice and the coloured version loses something but maybe that's just me.

why? because people are assholes who have to feel better about themselves by making others feel bad

and they create a uniform or a series of checks and balances someone has to pass before allowing them in

younger people especially try to fit into things for various reasons and the people they are trying to fit in with will fight tooth and nail to keep these people out. i don't understand it and i never will.

but it's a guy who's been running in marathons for years barefoot and he hasn't had one injury due to running because running without shoes is more natural and he has changed the way he was taught to run [heel toe] to a much more comfortable and body healthy way [just on the toes] quite interesting and he has no calluses cause there are no shoes to constantly rub against feet

i think you'd have to redefine your original goals cause quest could also mean mystery where someone is "questing" for the answer to the mystery

the conflict that is present in just about every game [be it blatant [doom] or more hidden [Sims]] can come in many many forms.

there are many levels to monkey island [a dangerous game full of occult symbols] where guybrush is in conflict with something/someone and he has to overcome it, passing the three trials is filled with it's own smaller conflicts and the large over arching one being LeChuck himself/itself/zombieself.

the whole man against nature idea has been used through videogames but usually is less interesting ways than man actually against nature. out in space searching for air cannisters [RTX Red Rock and Doom 3] but it's slighty more subtle than just putting the person in a room with a large demon to kill or a locked door and an inventory full of biscuits and flutes.

what's wrong with Flash MX? it'll do all you need it to do for background drawing.

um if you can say that "harry potter, pokemon, dragonballz, powerrangers" can influence children into doing nasty things then i can certainly say by that logic that ANYTHING with "occult" in it can influence children in a bad way

and if you're going to make that logical leap you can't be selective and say "well monkey island ruled and you know it!" cause that's making an exception.

for some reason and i don't know why, maybe cause there's no detail on the screen but it seems the top is twisted or slanted to face us.

i think it's just cause there's nothing on the screen to see how it's supposed to go... hmm i dunno

also the Dpad is a little of center, the bottom is longer than the top but other than that nice work there's a challenge going on at pixelation on skinning a GBA maybe you wanna take a peak?
