sure sure, they are nazis and they are in the middle of a war so consider it later on not to have everycharacter standing straight on staring at us

the pants look like they spilled some boogers on them or something. the light green splat doesn't help at all.

offending someone: don't bother with that. if someone is really offended and they feel they need to stop you from making a game about nazi germany than they have no concept of anything else beyond their own feelings and should be discounted.

time travel: flippy, you know first hand that that will happen if you go back in time and try to kill hitler? who knows what happens. there's linear time, there's multiplicity there're paradoxes there are tons of theories

heyo, nice character, i don't think the leg on the left of the image looks good however

i see it as you trying to show his leg muscles but it just comes off as bulbous to me, he looks like a thin thief type character, with lean muscles not bulking ones

as for character scaling, i only scale the characters when i absolutely have too. 98% of my game will be unscaled characters because i feel it just looks better. i will accept a scaled character [try it with the anti alias] but to me i just keep him 100% as long as possible

just remember these rules:

1.) Bump Map EVERYTHING, it doesn't matter what it is and it doesn't matter what the bump map is just do it!

2.) Make everything shiny... like really shiny, like the world was made out of ceramic

3.) Never use less than 2 million polygons. The more polygons the more in your face the 3d is.

4.) If you've already made it shiny and you've already added a bump map? Why not go ahead and make it reflective?

5.) THERE ARE NO RULES! LOLOLOLO LOLLERZ!!11!

just follow these rules especially rule 5!! LOL and pretty soon everyone around you will be all like "Woah! What the heck is this that's all up in my face?" and you can smile and be like "That's my 3d dude... that's my 3d"

who was it that brought this up towards the end of last year, saying that the forum was getting dumb and damn the new people for doing it

i think that's such a silly attitude to take because as far as i remember the forums have always been like this, sure maybe there was a month when people posted philosophy or whatever [as if that is better or worse than any other topic] but there are always dumb posts and there are always interesting posts and those are completely subjective

lgm says the forums are uninteresting, it seems like a lot of people are having a really good time. would you rather that you were having a good time and other people weren't?

what's the right way? this is a general forum for whatever, you want to talk about something serious do it, you don't want to then don't. to post a state of the forums thread is like pointing out a problem you see and not actually trying to fix it

why not instead of doom mongering you post an interesting thread that people may want to think about that would "raise the level of the forums" or whatever you feel is necessary

this just drags everyone down, old people insulting new people, new people and old people being afraid to start a thread if they want too...

maybe i missed the point of this thread but in conclusion

who says not having 2ma2 and helm is a bad thing? they are living their lives and i'm glad they can prioritize and get things done that are important instead of hanging out on this forum?

why are we worried about the forums when we should ultimately be making games?

if you don't like the way the forum is going then try to change it to how you want, not just pointing out problems with it

mikko is also right, you can't be friends with everyone so don't try and don't lament to when the forum was only 500 people cause there are people before you who will lament to when it was just CJ and Gilbert talking about kitties

so that's that, if i overreacted then ah well, if i made someone mad it was unintentional

what i don't like is that when big companies give to charity... it's usually cause they are being forced to for destroying the earth or killing babies before they were born

it's like if a movie star gets arrested they just do a "The More You Know" spot or something on tv or take a photo with cancer boy, they don't go to jail
