When the whole Columbine thing went down in the US many years ago I remember seeing a backup of the kid's website. They had a section for jokes and one of the jokes was something like:

I remember reading that, laughing, wondering if I should be laughing, deciding it was ok because laughing at a joke a murderer wrote doesn't give the murderer special powers and then the joke just stuck in my head.

Depends on the engine of the game you want to use for making the machinima. If it's an obscure game that has no modding capabilities then it's going to be extremely hard.

going for the popular ones like Unreal and Quake would give you a huge set of tools that people have already made for creating machinima.

But it's been years since I've kept up with that scene.

Yes to all of them. Like you say there is no answer to this, it depends on the person. Just start making it, set milestones for yourself, meet them as best you can and then keep doing that until the game is done.

I am of the opinion that some people feel that anything mildly weird must have been written/drawn/created under the influence of a drug.

I wrote my highschool senior thesis on Charles Dodgson, hooray.

I think people lump Alice in Wonderland in with the absinthe drinking, goth crowd. They take the story, try to make it darker and add in things like striped stockings and other things attributed to that culture.

Hippy culture latches on to the whole mushroom aspect of Alice and basically flaunt the caterpillar on a mushroom as some sort of icon.

I believe they both look at the stories and say "Dude must have been on some serious drugs to write that!" and wedge that in to their culture as best they can.

Because people can't write weird stories without tripping balls.

Do you believe that once a man is married he is now incapable of raping another human? Or if he rapes his new wife is it not rape because they are married?

What happens if a man rapes another woman while he is current married to a different woman? Does he marry the new woman and divorce the old or is there some sort of rapist polygamy that is allowed?

Also, I can't imagine the mental gymnasitcs that goes on to equate consciously choosing to kill babies to throwing out a painting.
