Can you elaborate on what alternative medecine you suggest?

"To me, Zak McKracken has always seemed like a brilliant idea that was never fully played out."

But it wasn't YOUR idea so why are you the one to fully play it out? I urge you to do something original but if you think you'll have fun making this then I fully support that. I don't really have a desire to replay Zak but I love when anyone has fun.

Monkey:

The spirit of your posts are appreciated but I think your going a little overboard.

If you want to try coaching someone on how to behave on the forums, keep it private. The moderators are here to publically reprimand people on these matters.

Thanks.

plebeo:

Please don't double post. I also suggest you write a list of characters you've already provided and add them to this thread.

Speaking from my experiences, it's not your job to fix him and you'll only go crazy trying to.

You didn't break him and you can't fix him. There is nothing you can say, no little keyword or inspirational speach that will snap him out of it.

Don't just cut off all contact with him but don't try to cheer him out of it. If he's in a real depressed state it's either something that he works through or people trained in this matter will have to try and help.

That is coming from my experience from 3 different people all with severe depression.

I'd like to help a brother out but I have to help my brother out.

He's also entered the same competition

LET THE BATTLE COMMENCE!

Doesn't AGS let you force the game to downgrade to 16 bit? I haven't used the hi-res since Spellbound and back then 32 bit was just added to AGS

This game was made by Woodz, an AGSer who is not a loser and he did so with my permission.

Also, the puzzles of 6 Day Assassin are lame anyway so it's ok.

I think what you mean, Matt, is that there's too much bad CGI in movies. There's tons that you never notice because it's either amazing or you're not looking for the CGI.

Usually when involving a human I find it's easiest to spot

This was a part of the activity thread and it was stopped.

I strongly urge you to take all your energy and free time and instead of posting on the forums go make a game. Or play some games and review them.

Okay. So I'm just being paranoid, and nobody else minds that a big company knows everything about them. And Tuomas... I'd not like to have a stalker. Okay, hey, somebody fancies you / finds you interesting, woohoo, but you obviously didn't read what can happen to stalker victims...Ã,  :P

There's a difference between knowing all about someone and having a bunch of data involving someone. Google has a lot of data, not phone numbers attached to photographs attached to addresses attached to social security numbers. Could they find all that out? I guess so, you can type my full name into google and find a majority of this info about me, not because google is tracking me but because google is tracking data.

The public library knows more about me than google does I'd bet.

I'm for the ban on the real whip... If it will stop a fourth indy movie from being made. I have little faith in movie makers when it comes to revisiting old franchises.

In my opinion!

I don't think you should do any of this. Just work on your game in one version and get it done and release it. If you're worried about not getting the maximum amount of people playing by having a large download size, think about that for your next game.

In my opinion.

this is what I read on another forum about this... the link they provided doesn't work anymore but here's the quote:

"This was a Windows 98 SE machine with IE 5 and an expired antivirus subscription. It hadn't been update since August, and there was no anti-spyware, no pop-up protection, no firewall and no content filters. Regardless of whatever happened, this machine was a machine that should not have been on the Internet."

He just gave his opinion, Nik. He's allowed that. He played the game, I assume he bought it but would rather not pay money.

Calm down and don't be so quick to defend. VintageDemon didn't convince Dave to start making games for pay and quit his job, it's not VintageDemon's responsibility to keep Dave and Co. earning a living. It's up to Dave and Co. to create something that people will want to spend money on so they can earn a living.

I also ran fine for me on XP but I also don't remember the details... However I could not save the game.

I recommend you search there for Neverhood, there are tons of threads devoted to trying to get it to run. The best place to start is the site you got the program from.

Good luck.

I just want to maybe say that Dave, you might be taking the words of say 4 people and calling it a geyser of bitterness.

At least as far as this thread is concerned.

Even so, I wouldn't call this a flame-fest.

Yes, and all of those criticisms were noted the first time around when they were mentioned many, many months ago. It just gets a little old when every single thread on the AGS forums seems to re-hash the same old points. We've heard all the criticisms already - points taken. We're looking into them. But repeatedly smacking others over the head in every single discussion with the same arguments is like flogging a dead horse.

And you're not going to stop people posting things on the internet by telling them to give it up. It's one of the hardest things in the world to do with something you've created but you have to let it go. For me, sadly, only time helps me get over things like this.

Besides, these awards take the entire year of games into account. The complaints about Al Emmo aren't being dragged up from the depths just for fun, people are looking back at their year of AGS gaming and remembering.
#679
How many people voted Al Emmo for this award?

10?

20?

20,000?

It is my understanding that these awards have a very small turn out. If 5 people voted for Al Emmo and 4 people voted for another game, Al Emmo wins the nomination. This isn't some huge backlash from a silent majority of people. You don't like that you're game was received badly by some people? Too bad, accept it and move on. You can't change their mind by posting about it on a forum, they played the game and they didn't like it. The only way to change their mind is to make another game and hope they like it.

Also, I to wish people would stop with the whole "arrogant" kick and ALSO stop comparing game makers. Who gives a shit what someone's tag line is on their pretend interenet company? Are we so desperate for drama in our lives that we have to make mountains out of mole hills?

anyway, in my opinion and all that
