[Then again, in my opinion, thre's no reasen to be afraid of a nuclear strike. At least within Ã, the next 50 years, no grounds, just a hunch...

North Korea is poor, selling nuclear bombs makes a lot of money. I can think of some people who'd like to buy a nuclear bomb.

I choose not too. People are making assumptions based on nothing [like saying you'll break the wiimote] and no one wants to listen, they just want to argue over nothing.

Wait a few months, give it a try and then make a big post about how much it sucks.

Can I just say one thing here?

I work at a game company and we make games for the Wii and a vast majority of people in this thread are talking stupid. That's about all I'm going to say.

Plus, No HD = Not for me is such a silly assed comment, I'm sorry.

Quote from: Helm on Sat 07/10/2006 10:26:19The abolishment of risk in adventure games, I never understood.

Because risk - at least as traditionally realized in games - is basically pointless in adventure games. Is there really any point in killing the player when you can just restore immediately beforehand and keep trying again (I'm reminded specifically of Beneath A Steel Sky, trying to get by the giant spider in the subway)? Unless you allow the player to get into a "walking dead" situation, or kill without warning (hoping the player hasn't saved recently). Not really solutions in my opinion.

but 99.99% of all games that have save and load abilities are like this. What is the point in dying in Half Life 2 when I can just quickload and keep trying until you get it right.

not being able to do anything because there is no risk is, in my opinion, a lot different feeling than watching your character dying because of actions you took.

"Oh, I appear to be stuck..." vs "Oh man! I died!"

I don't have a blog or similar thing, though I suspect I wouldn't use it regularly enough and do pr for it to the point where it would be useful or read a lot.

Pff, who needs PR? Just go out with a girl who's an amazing artist and already has a bunch of friends in the internet comic scene!

Worked for me!

I ask you to seriously reconsider the waking up in a prison cell with no memory. Used, abused and used again story element.

I like how helm has a bug up his ass but you seriously can't take jokes i.e. Progz's post. "But they aren't jokes, they're stupid stupid dumb whatever.." fine whatever... Just don't apologize to him in the thread you insulted him in! That might mean you'd have to lighten up and not take things so seriously which... is exactly what you're accusing people in this original thread of doing! Oh my!

If you'll look back, by the time you entered this thread all the hooplah was over.

I look forward to your attack.

For me, at least, the entire 46 50,000,000 years leading up to now were in preparation of my existence.

Better get to work on a kickass game and make it all worth while then!

There being only 1 God/Allah does not add to or subtract from the existence of Zeus.

Yes it does, because then you have to also believe in Thor and Athena and Hermes and all the hundereds of gods they had.

I met Dave back when we were on EzBoard!

And we got some VERY expensive sandwiches!

"Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof."

The people who are making the extraordinary claim of god or gods existing are the ones that need to provide the proof. Someone who does not believe does not have to offer proof that they don't exist.

"I believe there is a million year old space station deep inside one of Saturn's moons... Now prove me wrong!" No, you prove the existance of a space station and then we will check your data and see if it holds up.

The burden of proof is on the claimant. Always remember that.

Grundislav did some for his BJ games but...

Didn't Sierra use clay models and just do stop motion photography? The Last Express is more rotoscoping.

So do you mean taking movies of people moving and drawing over them or taking movies of people or things moving and make sprites out of them?

Jess made me get it!

I don't post about my life, just comics!

Well, comics about my life... But they're funny!

And thus we run head first into the ol' problem of yelling at people that they have no life because they're offering an opinion on a subject on the internet while yourself offering an opinion on a subject on the internet.
