I ordered 1 shirt from CafePress many years ago and I would never do it again.

I ordered a Larry Vales shirt and I washed it once and it's all rubbed raw and "vintage".

If you choose to go with CafePress my biggest beef is when people get an account and then put the image on EVERYTHING! You go to someone's CafePress store and a little graphic or bit of text is on a hat, shirt, underwear, another shirt, more shirts, a visor, a mug, a frisbee, a dog shirt, more underwear and a mousepad. It just makes me feel like this person doesn't really care what the image is on as long as someone buys it which makes me think that they don't really care about the image just that it's on items people might buy.

If the image looks good on a shirt, put it on a shirt. Make another image for a coffee mug. Does that make any sense?

You're right Nik, who cares... Let me just go into every thread on this forum talking about anything and write "Honestlly, Who cares!" in it.

Maybe if you phrased your question: "Does this class changing have any significance to the average person or is it mostly a classification thing that astronomers and scientists will use to further a general understanding of the universe?" your post wouldn't have seemed so rude.

To answer your hypothetical question I fear that the classification changing does have an impact on the average person and all it will do is help feed a distrust in science that I feel is held by many people. "Oh those scientists! This is what they're wasting our money on!" "I'm still going to say Pluto is a planet! These scientists have no idea what their talking about!" "If they were wrong about Pluto for so many years they must be wrong about other things therefore you can't trust them!

Did you, really?

Did you?

If Mittens teaches people anything it should be that islands are farther away than they appear...

Mittens 04 and 06 should be remembered for this.

You say that as if CJ cares...

I think... Yea... Yea I am.. I'm making love to Scotch's post.

I think canada is a great idea.

Just the idea of Canada in general? I guess it's pretty neat...

But as far as Jess and Eric are concerned, as long as work doesn't screw me in the butt again, we'll be there.

Is everybody now fixated on the fact that some of us like to have a responsible drink?

Who is this everybody you speak of? This is why I posted before saying that the "defenders" are ramping up the situation by being overly defensive.

Erenan said he was worried but now he isn't.

Maybe I didn't read this thread correctly but as Becky said no one is saying BAN DRINKING ARG! and no one is saying MITTENS IS FOR DRUNKS AND EVERYONES A DRUNK THINKA BOUT YOUR LIVERS!@!!

I just want to quickly say, having read this thread and talked to DS...

I share DS's concerns and want to reiterate to the people who feel they need to defend their actions against DS's post. He didn't say "SHAME ON YOU! HOW DARE YOU!" he said "This is something that was on my mind, want to talk about it?"

He didn't say "MITTENS WAS RUINED!!!" he said "This is a concern I have."

He also said "I loved my time at Mittens." I feel that some of the people trying to defend their actions are ramping up the issue with their choice of words.

That is all

Eric

Oh also, DS said "I HATE SPANISH PEOPLE!" But that's mostly subtext

This image looks much better, though the path is still awkward.

Also, if it's a mansion then get some mansion reference. The way you have it now I can bet that 100% of the people will say "Castle" when asked what it is.

I also still suggest photoshopping in highlights on the tree branches.

I have read the same about the earth being flat and the scientific community not really adopting that in a natural history book I read by Stephen Jay Gould.

I suggest making your own characters and your own art style. It would be easier on you. You wouldn't have to deal with fans of GK saying you're ruining it and you wouldn't have to adhere to any of the various art styles of the game which there were many. Also you could do more with your own characters.

Any danger you put Gabriel Knight into won't be scary because it's a prequel and I know he survives and nothing bad happens to him at all.

PureGhostGR, how often do they destroy text books? How often do they have to print new posters and other text books? I feel that people only think of the cost to do these things when it's something "high profile" like demoting a planet.

But either way I would like to hear an astrologist fight back against this one.

Is this the Unreal Engine?

I recommend a lot of photoshoppery.

See these images of paths... Especially the one on the right. It's all broken up and there are weeds growing up from the stones and around the sides of it.

Google Image search images of castles. The castle you have now is a castle by the barest sense. It's blocky with some stones on the top to make the jagged "castley" look.

Now that's an interesting castle! It's so huge and imposing. Walking between those two huge towers on either side of the door would be pretty frightening. There are decorations on the top that add interest and we can tell it's a castle by looking at it but it isn't a cartoon of a castle.

The trees look to be the X style billboard trees of the early to mid 90s 3d game engines and they're not lit. They're full bright textures with no shadow or shading. Take the trees out and add better trees in photoshop or edit the trees you have in photoshop.

There is no shadow on anything. The lamps don't even have a shadow on the ground. The trees cast no shadow on the ground, the castle casts no shadow from the moon, etc.

The scale of the lights in the scene are very huge. Those burning fires are giving off a whole lot of light...

Look how little orange light these fires give off. I'm guessing you placed 2 lights where the fires are and that's it? You're going to have to light your scene with a lot of little lights if you want it to light well. Small lights for the fires, small lights for the windows, light for the moon's reflective light on the earth.

The sky is bad. As Ali said it distorts something terrible. The stars are huge and it's really bright. I'd recommend putting in a full bright magenta skybox and then making your own night sky and dropping it in later in photoshop.

I guess what I'd like you to come away with from this post the most is that you can't do everything in your 3d program. Especially not if it's a game engine. You're going to have to touch stuff up in an image editing program. Everyone does it because it's easier to do many things in 2d with a rendered out image than it is to set up in 3d.

renaming streets and reclassifying celestial bodies are far from the same. You say it's costing "100 of thousands if not millions" to rename streets and saying that if it costs that much to rename streets how much did it cost to reclassify an entire planet?!

No one has to print street signs up and remove and replace every one for Pluto.

So then I would suggest replacing roger with a non descript template character that one can easily paint over and not Roger Wilco from Space Quest.

"will keep people interested when they download AGS"

if roger stops them making a game they weren't cut out to make an AGS game.
