Well if you're used to drawing large, then a large wacom might work okay for you.

I just know that the first time I bought a wacom I just bought the large one cause "bigger is better", which isn't really the case.  It just depends on what works best for you.

Squinky, unless you are very sure that you need a large tablet, I would highly recommend the medium instead.  I owned a large Intuous 2 for several years and while I used it a lot, it was rather cumbersome and often ended up getting covered by sketchpads and dinner plates.

I currently own a medium Intuous 4, which is just about perfect in size.  I tend to draw fairly small anyway, and the medium size lets you sit the tablet comfortably in your lap while you draw, which feels more natural to me.

There are legitimate uses for a large wacom, like if you're used to large, brush-stroke arm movements, but unless you know exactly why you need a large, you'll likely have a better time with a medium.

Doing a quick Google Image search for "red hotel room", of the pictures that I like, I'm seeing a lot of white, grey, black, and various browns and tans.  In other words, very neutral colors alongside the reds.  Kinda like this:

So you might keep the carpet the same, then make the walls a more neutral brown, then make the bed covers and curtains tan.  That seems like the easiest changes to me, but of course it's your project, so feel free to experiment.

I'll start by echoing anian, except the switching the painting and the window.  Usually the window is opposite the door, with other hotel rooms on the other walls.

Instead I'd question the layout of the furniture in the room.  Usually the bed is on one of the side walls with a set of drawers and a TV on the other side.  And I've never seen a hotel provide a shelf with books.  If might be too much work, though, to rearrange everything.  If so, just keep it in mind for next time or something.

Something that might be easier to change:  I'm not sold on the colors of this hotel room.  It looks like you're using hi or true color, so I think you should take advantage of that.  Try looking at photos of actual hotel rooms. Or at least an actual bedroom.  Find a color scheme that you like and use that swatch colors for your room.

I have to agree with Ryan that the perspective does look wonky.  Obviously you meant it to be, but there are elements of it that are confusing, like how there really isn't a corner on the long wall, and then the curve of the table in front.  I'm not sure if the hallway actually curves like that, or if you bent around the perspective in order to show both ends of a straight hallway.

As far as what sort of shading to use, I only recommend that you don't use computer-generated gradients.  Unless you do a lot of work with them, they're very easy to spot, and they usually don't look good.

Another suggestion I have is play with your color palette.  If you're going to use such bright colors, you need to make sure they work well together.  A good trick for this is to find a image online that has a mood that would work for your background, and then swatch colors from that image.

Hello, my is Robyn.  I'm sorta new.  Or rather, I'm an old, old member who's been gone for like.. ten years or so.  I had a different username back then.  Not that it matters much.  I didn't actually get anything done with AGS back then.  I was young and silly and couldn't organize anything to save my life so I never got past drawing a few pretty pictures.

However, now I'm older and wiser (or at least I like to think so).  I currently earn my living creating content for Second Life, where I am widely known as Murgatroyd or Murgy.   I'm mostly modeling in 3D and creating textures and that sort of business, but I've never lost my love of drawing, so I thought I'd try my hand at AGS again

I probably won't post much 'til I have something to show, though.
