In my experience the Tween module is so indispensably useful for a variety of things that it's silly not to import it into any AGS game of reasonable scope.
#62
Yep - the Mac versions are PowerPC only.

I didn't see if these are A-OK to use for commercial purposes, so use caution if you like to make sure everything is above board on commercial work.

Of course I would like to nominate my two freeware releases in 2012!

subAtomic
subAtomic won the Humour category of the 23rd Ludum Dare Jam, was featured on IndieGames.com, and was the AGS Pick of the Month in May!

A dysfunctional family are miniaturised in their misguided search for a holiday, thanks to the scientific minds at S.H.A.T. (Space Holidays via Accelerated Transport).

Features:
* Visceral point-and-click action!
* Literally tens of hilarious jokes.
* Experience the beginning, middle, and end of a story. The decisions you make will completely shape your experience and the final outcome of the game.
* The lack of a save-game feature means your actions have real-world consequences.
* Witness the epic development of more than one character as you control some of their actions.
* subAtomic plunges you into the scene at the deep end, with more than 10 different, immersive sound effects!
* A rousing, all-original musical score.
* Features unofficial cameo appearances by Albert Einstein and Carl Sagan!

subAtomic is available for download from the AGS Database.

Plan M
Plan M won the Humour category of the 24th Ludum Dare Jam, and was featured on IndieGames.com and Rock, Paper, Shotgun!

The evil Dr. M has used a nefarious machine to devolve everyone back into monkeys, so he can become their master!
Fortunately, he didn't count on Detectives Vandall and Hopkirk - two survivors who will stop at nothing to put things back the way they were.

* Full-length point & click adventure!
* A story so packed with comedy it's liable to explode at any minute, covering you and anyone watching in a disgusting-yet-amusing goo!
* Stephen Hawking gives a conference from the ceiling!
* Meet a monkey pretending to be the president!
* Electrocute a small child!
* And much, much more!

The Enhanced Edition includes a soundtrack and audio effects, as well as several re-written and completely new scenes.

Plan M is available for download from the AGS Database.

The demo is now available from the website (http://hungryplanetgames.com/) - Download Link, and from the AGS database here.

Please let me know what you think, and don't forget to pop by our Steam Greenlight page if you enjoy the demo!

I really like the gradual explosions when you kill an enemy!

Out of interest, what happens if you try to just fly past a set of enemies (like the squids)?

If you didn't get a chance to play Astroloco at Adventure X, you may be pleased to hear that the official demo should be coming out over the weekend. It features all of Act 1, and forms a great introduction to the characters and plot of the full game.
On the other hand, if you did play at the event, there's still an incentive to try the demo - the full complement of voice acting and sound effects is in place (along with a handful of minor tweaks to the gameplay based on feedback)!

I'll be posting an update with download locations when the demo drops - if all goes according to plan, it'll be available from our newly minted IndieDB/Desura page and the official website.

Yeah I wasn't sure how best to show the flap, so I omitted it. The idea is that the player character is locked in the boot :)

How's this for a cramped space?

Engine Development / Re: Other Resolutions.

It'd be great if the engine showed the graphics options when there was a problem initialising, rather than just plonking a confusing error message in front of the player and closing outright.

We've hit 20% on Steam Greenlight so far! What a great Christmas present :)

If you've not popped by to lend us a hand, please consider giving us your 'Yes' vote at HungryPlanetGames.com/Greenlight!

You can use the SetViewport(int x, int y) command to manually move the viewport around in a scrolling room. It'll lock the view to the specified position until you either call ReleaseViewport or leave the room.

To get a room to scroll continuously is a bit trickier, since you'll have to somehow deal with wrapping it around at one end, but it's certainly possible.

I've got no shortage of spare time at the moment :)

If anyone missed it - here's the intro to our presentation. It was fun making this, inspired by the errors that kept popping up the day before ;)

I started out talking a little bit about subAtomic and Plan M, and then things took an unusual turn...
#74
Yeah, definitely the 'worst' thing (if you can call it that) was how much there was going on!

I can understand how difficult it is to fit all these awesome talks into just two days, but I think it needed some general down-time mixed in there. As Cat said, after the early morning it was often difficult to have a good talk with anyone or properly play their demo because of talks constantly starting in the same room.
#75
Was great to meet so many people who have a common passion for adventure games!

Thanks for being awesome. Yes, you.
#76
Having seen this in action at AdventureX, I have to say that words and pictures alone cannot hope to convey just how good this game looks! Everyone there was astounded at what you've managed to get out of the engine.

Any chance of a gameplay video/trailer I can show to others?

It's not up on our Greenlight page yet, but here's a top-secret super-sneaky look at some of the voices you'll become acquainted with during the game!

In my experience it's pretty hard to get lost on the London Underground. Maps are easy to find, and easy to understand. Nothing to worry about :)

Disclaimer: I live here. I might be biased.

I believe Dave G is talking about Friday :) though there's also Adventure X drinks Saturday night.

:-[ That'll teach me not to read previous posts properly. Not sure if I can make the Friday drinks - the rest of Hungry Planet Games aren't arriving in town until Saturday morning!

Not sure our build of Astroloco will have music, but it'll certainly have some voice acting and sound effects. Some being the operative word.

Which day is that on? I missed the last meet-up :(
