Eggie, that is one of the most alluring screen shots of an AGS game I've ever seen! I just HAVE to play that game now to know what the hell is going on there ;)

As Kasander said, we started working on something together that couldn't make the deadline. He's coming up with some really incredible art for it and there was no way I had the time to do it justice in the few weeks we've been talking, so we've avoided the MAGS deadline and are hoping to finish it later in another month or two. Still, the main thing is we've got working on something that wouldn't have existed otherwise, so thanks to all those involved in keeping MAGS going!

any link that ends with /games/filth can only be good! :-D

My only problem is that I wish I thought of it too!
Congrats to both of you for finishing early ;)

Well, I've written the music and the opening line of dialogue for my game. Unfortunately this is as far as I've got and I still have no idea what the story, graphics, or actual "gameplay" will be. I'm kind of feeling bereft of ideas. I'm hoping if I just stare at my computer screen for long enough something will come to me ???

Nice theme, thanks Hobo... I think I can do something with this one. In fact, I'm determined to complete something for this, whether it's a game or just some kind of interactive experiment. It's been a while since I've made anything, so I'll declare my intention to do so right now to try and self-motivate (roll)

I can't explain exactly why, but for some reason games more than any other art form can define clearly particular periods in my life. The same thing can happen with certain albums or books or movies, but games seem to have this effect even more so. I think it's partly because games are interactive and they often last a reasonable amount of time, so they sort of demarcate passages of time in my life (or at least, my life spent in front of my computer (which is probably a good 30%))

Eg:
Winter 2008 = Morrowind
Easter 2012 = Broken Sword 3
That day I stayed home sick from school maybe around 1999 = Fallout 1

These games and times are kind of permanently linked in my mind.

Looks fantastic... I haven't played the original Downfall but I loved The Cat Lady, so another game with a similar style is something I will definitely be looking forward to!

Wow, this looks awesome! Love the movie and look forward to playing this ;-D

Congratulations winners! Sorry I missed the ceremony, but thanks for uploading the chat log - it makes for some rather amusing reading (laugh)

Hi Snarky,

Sounds fun - I'm happy to offer anything I have that might be appropriate. Will PM you a few tracks :)

I've wondered the same thing actually - my current method is to do what you've described, deleting and re-importing a file with the same name (which at least means you don't need to update any code); I haven't found any way to replace the file from within the editor.

Wow, some nice looking entries so far! I'm not doing anything this month but look forward to seeing these in action (nod)

Thank you to all who nominated Sisyphus Reborn! I'm genuinely humbled to be alongside such great freeware games from last year. This was my first attempt at making an actual adventure type game, so I'm really happy people have enjoyed it ;-D
Congratulations to all the nominees!

Hi Cassiebg, yes you are correct about the "end" end ;)

There are 3 other ways to end the game, but it's not so much a resolution as just an option to end the story. Hints...

Spoiler

* Keep going all the way right as far as you can go
* On the screen with the bunch of people who have gone braindead, wait around for a while doing nothing
* When you get the shovel, just keep digging in the desert (about 12 times I think) until you get a message

@Cassiebsg
I've added a non-gamejolt download mirror now - meant to put one on before but forgot.

@BSP
@selmiak

Thanks for playing! Yes I was going to mention there are a few "optional" endings but I think all of them will allow you to keep playing rather than automatically ending the game. When you get to the "ending" ending it should be pretty obvious ;)
Glad you both enjoyed it!

I hope I'm not breaking any rules by dredging up this post from the beginning of the year, but this is actually related to the same game. I originally planned to finish it about March I think... the game is now pretty much complete apart from the ending, so I plan to have it done in about a week. It's only about half an hour long and was mostly done early this year, but it sure took me a while to find time to finish it. Here's a new trailer for it:

Well done AprilSkies!
I'm amazed you could make that in AGS, and in less than a month too 8-0

Hey AprilSkies, you might already have seen it, but you got a write up on Rock Paper Shotgun:

Now just sit back and wait for the thousands of downloads to roll in... :)
