That is a pretty epic party you made there, Mandle. If you can do that and also make a complete game I'll be very impressed :-D
#62
AprilSkies that looks brilliant! Congrats on finishing.
Downloading now :)

Good luck to... Mandle, Cassiebsg and HanaIndiana, hope you all make it

Awesome, thanks Dualnames :)
It took me WAY too long to get the waves working, so I'm glad you enjoyed them!

Cassiebsg, and anyone who is having problems with gamejolt, try this:

Download Mirror

Thanks for playing!

So glad you guys liked it!

I was worried I may have been the only one to find it funny... ;)

Originally I was actually going to make a walk cycle for the space man and others, but making walk cycles is hard, so I... you know, gave up. :-D

Well, this is of course the free version of the game. The retail version comes complete with chocolate level and access to space man and knight man, all for a mere $79.95!

Selmiak's seminal "Don't press the button" was a big influence on me :D

And yes, I was careful to make the Space level accurate to real-world physics, a detail often missing from fancy AAA games ;)

I think the size and quality of my game is a testament to how long I worked on it :D
Still, I'm glad I completed it! I think a full month on that game might have been overkill.

Looking forward to seeing the others! HanaIndiana it looks like you've set out a lot of work for yourself - really hope you finish so we can play it!

My second game with AGS is probably not really a game. It's an.. um... interactive piece of software?
Whatever it is, it only takes a minute or two to play!

OK this is a new record for me -- started on Sunday and finished on Wednesday!
I ask you to please judge it accordingly ;)

Inspired by all my unfinished projects over the years, I present to you:

Well given that I still haven't finished a game I started for MAGS last December, I decided I'd attempt something more within my reach this time. I started this one on Sunday and hopefully will be done by tomorrow (which is about as much time as this one deserves!)
It's only very loosely related to the theme, and to be honest it would be generous to call it a "game".

It's all about failing to finish things, and the personal joke this time is that it looks like I'm actually going to finish this one 8-0

And if I haven't stepped away from AGS for too long, that I've forgotten the basics.

Yep, that's happened to me. I opened up an unfinished game I hadn't worked on for about 3 or 4 months, stared at the code I had written and thought, "what the hell does this even mean???"

I'm going to try for one this time though, very simple. Estimated play time = 2 minutes.
It's verrrrry loosely based on the theme of travel; in this case, the inability to complete the journey of creating a project (something I'm probably not alone in here).

Unless my game about failing to complete things becomes too meta by remaining incomplete itself... (roll)

Congrats on the release Slasher!
Was fun to work on this, now I just need to find time to actually play it ;)

Awesome, thanks! I played the demo years ago but never got the full game. Bought The Cat Lady recently and loved it, so looking forward to playing this one :)

Hey, I managed it this time:

This started out ambient and peaceful, sort of reflective, but then seemed to go a little dark like when you stare at the sky at night for too long and start to feel a little overwhelmed...
#75
Pretty sure I'll be able to get something done this time...

and I feel like at some point someone needs to write that song about Roger Waters chilling by the pool!
#76
Oh damn, I had meant to enter this one but somehow the whole month passed me by! I enjoyed listening to everyone's pieces, congrats to Sunny Penguin on the win :)

Just for fun, here's an end-of-the-world type piece I wrote a few months ago:

Nice, getting some slight Blade Runner vibes in those screens which is always a good thing :)
Looking forward to it!
(and hoping for a Vangelis-y soundtrack...)

Hi Slasher,

sounds like fun, interested in working on the music, sent you a PM :)
#79
Oh cool thanks Elias, glad you like it ;-D

Thanks Eggie, heh yeah it can be a pretty punishing game at first -- I kept failing until I read a pretty good guide to it somewhere. There are a lot of skills that are pretty much useless (ah, the good old days!) which makes it tricky. One of the main things I remember is to start out with maybe 2 dudes trained in "brawling", which means they get 2 attacks with a knife or whatnot instead of 1 with a crappy pistol. That gets you going past the first few minutes ;)

There is an epic game to be had there but it sure does take some getting used to.
